CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE
I grinned as soon as I saw the first page. x + 10 = 5. Oh no. Way too easy. I didnt even need the book for this. Basic 6th grade algebra. I scribbled in the answer and moved on, my fountain pen almost tearing the paper. I still wasn't used to writing these things. Careful, Apostle. Bog said, and I laid my ink pen on the desk and leaned back. "Dont you dare tell me what to do, you crummy god." I snapped, going back to writing. Okay, okay! Bog siad, and after everything was silent. Only 50 questions too. After about 20 minutes, I handed the stack to the duke. "I probably got every single one right." I said sheepishly. Instantly, the duke stood up after seeing the first page of answers. "How did you-"
"Oh, don't worry about that. I didnt cheat. You were watchingmy like a hawk the whole time. Anyway, happy tuesday." I said, disappearing from the doorframe before sticking one hand back in to wave.
Good job, Apostle. I knew you were capable of it. Bog said, and I bit my nails nervously. So far, there were a few things that had never happened to Cordelia in the original novel. It was safe to assume that the future was changing, since I had stopped the Palace Boom Boom before it even started.
Which meant, after that was the assassination. This originally happened when Zal turned 18, but it was safe to say that it would happen much earlier than expected. I needed help.
"I need allies." I muttered to myself, lost in thought while standing in the dead middle of the hallway. Ah. I took out a wrinkled piece of paper from the pockets of my priest robes.
Priest meeting.
5 PM. The 12th of November.
"The meeting is tomorrow. Let's do that. Right?" I said, looking up. Of course. Bog agreed, and I smiled. Then tore the note in half and threw it out the window.
What i didnt see, at the time, though, was the black hooded figure who stopped to pick up the pieces.
