CHAPTER FORTY-THREE
As I walked down the hallway and tried to ignore the fact that I had just made a complete fool of myself, and thought over something else I had realized. "Bog, did you feel it too?" I asked, and the creator of the universe nodded. Of course, Apostle. It would be a bit stranger if I hadn't. That kid, Zal, wasn't acting like the one you were supposed to meet. Bog said, and I nodded like a sheep. "Exactly. Instead, he was acting like-" The old Zal that knew Cordelia. Bog finished.
"Yeah. I thought the same thing. Do you think he's a looper too? Or… maybe I'm the odd one out. Maybe I got here instead of the real Cordelia. Could you have made a mistake like that, Bog?" I thought out loud. Hey. You might not believe this, but I'm the creator of the universe, not the creator of existence. There are some things I have no control over. Fate and destiny are sentient beings that do what they want without me. I just try to prevent the outright extinction of this race. Bog said, and I sighed, rubbing my temples. Things were suddenly getting so much more complicated. Why, oh why, couldn't this just have been a regular Isekai plot? Then, at least I'd have a good hand over the true faces of the characters.
Im wondering the same thing. It would be easier if we didnt have to worry about those two. Bog interjected, and I jumped. Goosebumps rising along my back. What the heck? "Since when can you read my thoughts?!" I yelped, and Bog laughed. Since never, Apostle. I just made an educated guess - but turns out I was spot on. I frowned. Yeah, I shouldn't have said that.
"...But what are we going to do if they remember the last timeline? It'll be obvious I'm not the real Cordelia." I said, suddenly worried. Since no one had known me before, I hadn't had to worry about all the "I gotta hide my identity" stuff, but that might not be what happened now.
Then you're screwed, Dear Apostle. They will kill you, and rightfully so. Bog narrated, and I flinched. kill? like, RIP? gravestones? Not even gravestones! They'd probably brun her body to get rid of evidence or something. Oh no. "That means I have to assume the worst and… start acting… Like the original Cordelia?"
Not necessarily. Just make sure they don't find out you're the real creator. Bog advised, and I held up a thumb. "Thanks, Bog! You're a lifesaver!"
I know. There's nothing more you can do today, so you might as well cut off that entire class situation. Bog said.
