1. Trial for Humanity's Sin

~Earth, 2027~

It's a normal day on Earth, and everyone is happy. It's only some years after the pandemic that took millions of lives finally end. People finally enjoy the feeling of being free to leave their house and interacting with others. But their freedom didn't last for long, as a greater calamity is coming.

~GMT: +00.00, 23 June 2027~

Small earthquake occure in many places on earth at the same time. Then, people see rainbow pillars grow out from the ground. It keep growing until it reaches the sky, and it appears in many places.

The pillars are growing in every 100 km range. It looks like a crystal and it's glowing with rainbow colours. Suddenly light come out and the pillars got connected to each other. It will looks like squares if someone see it from above.

Some people try to touch the light, but they got repelled. No one can pass through the light screen. Then suddenly, some planes and satelites that have people in it, disappeared and then appear on the empty sea and float there.

No one can understand what happen, not even the greatest organization. Then suddenly, all electricity shut down and darkness covered the earth. The other side of earth that get shone by sunlight, also suddenly get dark.

People can only see the dim light from the rainbow screen. They are afraid, confused, and no one know what to do. Guns & bullet didn't work on the screen at all. So now they can only wait and hope that it will be fine.

Suddenly everyone feel a sucking sensation from the screen. They want to resist, but they can't, no one can resist. Strangely, only humans that get sucked by the screen. Objects, animals, plants are not sucked, nothing except humans and their clothes are getting sucked.

It didn't take long before every humans on earth disappeared. Then the screen also disappeared, leaving the tall pillars behind. The Earth is now empty from humans and there are only animals & plants that live there.

~With Humans~

The humans suddenly arrive in a place that they don't know where after getting sucked by the screen. They look around and see that they are in a medieval city like in the history. Some younger people will think that this place looks like an RPG game city.

The city look clean and it have a very wide open place that can hold thousands of people here. The sky is also bright, and clear with some clouds. The floor is made from stone and not soil like what people will think of medieval era.

Among all the humans here, there is a teen with brown skin and black hair. He's not that tall, just some normal guy in their teens. He is Siji, a 19 y.o college student that was sleeping in his rented room when all of this happen.

Siji didn't know what happen, then he try to find his phone, but it's gone. He want to contact his family & friends, but it's impossible without phone. He look around and try to keep calm while calculating what he should do.

'I need to leave the crowd first, if people suddenly get panic, it will be bad. I also need an empty place to think about everything.'-Siji

Siji slip out and finally find an alley, but it's also filled with people. He look around and see a water tower, so he go there and climb it. There's someone that climb it before him, but they just mind their own business. Siji can see everyone from here, and some people also climb high building like him.

Suddenly, the bright sky get dark and filled with black clouds. Rumble noise could be heard from the clouds but there's no lightning strikes at all. Then the middle of the black cloud open and something come out of it.

Everyone see it, a bright sphere object that come down from the cloud. It hovered around 30 meters above them and it's big. Suddenly the sphere burst and everyone cover their eyes.

When they open their eyes, they see a humanoid being with 6 wings and white armor with black stripes. It have a black hair and it's face is covered by black mask. It also have black white thick book and the book suddenly open. It's just like human's definition of angel, but now everyone feel fear rather than happiness.

"Humans, you are called here by our LORD. The Highest Being in all universe, GOD."-Angel

The angel have genderless voice that even sound like it has many voices. Everyone murmur among themselves while shaking. Of course they will think that this is some kind of bad thing, and God will punish them or something. Some hope this is just a dream, some think this is just a prank, and some, like Siji keep calm.

"SILENCE!"-Angel

The angel yell, and suddenly everyone can't talk. Their voices just can't get out from their mouth. Now they know that this is real and start to fear for their lives.

"The Highest Being have saw everything in the universe. HE also saw what you humans have done on Earth. HE is utterly disgust by your behaviour that destroy your world. HE gave you trial a few years back, and many times before. It get better when the trial commence, but you still make things worse on your world, so now HE decide that it's enough."-Angel

'Trials? Did he mean that pandemic?'-Siji

"The Highest Being decide to give you a punishment, but HE will also give you a last chance. Those who pass this trial will be sent back to Earth and live normally, but those who fail will die. Even so, not everyone will have the chance."-Angel

Suddenly red light beams come out from the Angel's book and shot on many people. The ones that got shot by the beams suddenly are burnt to ashes. The man that stay on the tower with Siji also got burnt, scaring Siji to death.

'Wha-what happened?'-Siji is shakin

"These people are the worst sinners that have no right to live anymore. They are murderers, rapist, pedophile, terrorist, and have many more sins that can't be forgiven. They are sent to the deepest hell to be tortured for eternity. The ones that are still alive, will be given the chance to continue living."-Angel

Then, white light beams shot from the book. It shot to many people too, but now it's mostly elderly or baby and children. The angel say that they are being sent to heaven, as babies and children didn't have sins yet. The elderly people with high good karma will not be put to the trial, and their time of death are near too, so there's no use to join the trial.

The angel then explain about what they must do now if they want to live. This world is like an RPG world, where monsters live and there is a concept of level. This world is made for this last trial of Human kind.

This world have many floor levels that go underground. The deeper level will be harder than the previous level. It's just like floors in RPG, but it go down rather than go up. Their objective is to reach the planet's core and defeat the last boss.

The surface is the 1st floor and there are many cities where humans were sent. This will be their tutorial floor where they can get used to fight the monsters. Every city is filled with 1 million people. So there are thousands cities as there are more than 7 billions people on Earth.

The angel say that the cities are the only safe place on this world. There's no monsters here, no one can kill others too or do a crime. But they can't stay in the city forever, because the angel say that there is time limit for their trial.

"The Highest being give you at most 10 years to finish this trial. You will not aged in these 10 years, and you can get strong no matter your age now, but you can't revert your age. All your illness or disabilities will disappeared when this trial start, so you can have the same start."-Angel

Suddenly a blue transparent screen appear in everyone's sight. It's like those system interface in RPG game or isekai story. Siji look at it and see there are some menus. He also see a 'Friend' menu, and click it, but nothing happened. He also try the other menu but nothing happen too.

"In front of you is your status screen, you can't use it until the trial start. There will be a guide book in your inventory, and you can ask anything that is not clear to the stone pillar in the town center. Just put your hand on it and you will get your answer. Then with this, my job has done, read your book and ask the pillar for detail information. Farewell, Humans."-Angel

The angel suddenly vanished without any other explanation. Now everyone finally can talk again, and they panic. The crowd fall into chaos and everyone running around everywhere. They want to save themselves or check something that only they know.

"Sigh, glad i've get out from there. But this is certainly a strange situation."-Siji

Siji think about it, and this situation has become more strange. If this is purely a trial caused by Humans action that destroy the Earth and God want to filter the ones that can live, then there's no need to fight monsters. They can just being filtered by how much they make destructions to Earth and left the ones with less sins.

"There must be something on play behind this, but i don't know what. There are many possibilites from those stories, like it's for God's entertainment, or we are just experiment subjects of higher being, and many more."-Siji

Siji think of any possibilities, but he can't find the right answer, so he forget about it. He can only make sure that he can survived and go back to Earth. So now he check his status screen and open his inventory to read the guide book.

"So basically, this is really like an RPG game world. The difference is that this is a real world, so we live like normal human, not game characters. So we can eat normally, sleep normally, got injured or poisoned too, but there are some limits. We can't get old, or sick from illness and we can't have children in this world. Well, at least no one need contraceptions."-Siji

Suddenly a bright light covered the whole world and shine on everyone. When the light gone, everyone find their appearance change. Not only their clothes change into medieval clothes, but even their body change. Their hair, skin, face, height, weight, everything change, and they look like game or anime characters with colourful appearance.

Siji also get his appearance changed out of his will. He still have his brown skin, his face become more handsome, not that he is ugly before, but his face look more manly and sharper. His hair turned into silver colour and his eyes become red. He even grow a little and become 180 cm and he check that his 'little man' has grow a bit too.

"Why did i suddenly change like this?"-Siji

"Hmm? Uh, open it?"-Siji

[Dear Player, we have change your appearance as we see fit. We also have decided your class and job. You can't choose this, so please bear with it. We also send you basic equipments set for your Trial here. Please enjoy yout last days, scum.]

'These f*ckers, doing anything they like. As i thought, something is not right, but i don't know what. At least i get a good appearance.'-Siji

He look at many people who get the appearance that they didn't like. So Siji feel relieved by this, at least.

'I guess i can only do this, i will live and finish this Trial. It's the only chance now.'-Siji grip his hand.

Thus, the Trial for Humanity's sins have started.
