Chapter 24

Jamie closed his laptop and walked towards Anastasia. He paused forcefully when he saw her going through some files. Anastasia turned to him and for the first Jamie's eyes widened with fear and disbelief.

Anastasia paused for a moment, looked around, and blinked rapidly, trying to deny what she had just seen.

Her breath caught up in her throat, as she scanned the words and pictures in the files again. "These are all fake, aren't they?"

Jamie kept silent, visibly dumbfounded.

"You got 62 percent of the Gray family shares," she said calmly. "How did you do that? You even studied my whole life,"

Jamie's eyes remained wide with fear and disbelief, his face pale and frozen. He seemed to be unable to process what was happening, his mind racing with thoughts and emotions.

Anastasia's voice was calm and steady, but her eyes betrayed a hint of desperation. "Say something, Jamie. You had no connection with the death of my father, right?"
