CHAPTER 140

A knowing smile spread across Kiera's lip at the thought as she rounded the corner to stand beside the couch Jared sat on. 

"Treat my baby, well?"

Jared raised a brow, not getting the picture. 

Kiera sighed, her smile faltering a bit as she let her hands drop to the side. "Don't play coy. Did you make my baby squeal?"

"If what you mean is, make her feel happy when I picked her up, carrying her in, sure. If you meant something else, I am afraid I do not know what you mean."

His words had been calculative, ruining Kiera's fun.

"So you're saying you guys did not do anything?" She squinted, tryng to catch any change in Jared's character and after seconds passed, Kiera grunted loudly. 

"Come on! How can you be so stoic about everything? Hmm?" 

Jared sipped his wine before setting the glass down and crossing his legs.
