Some changes can push one on a different, a different journey. One so magical and captivating that there is no escaping from it. Harry Potter also changed his path. A path of discovery and advancement. A path that made magical world seemed trivial to someone like him whose only escape was the magical world. Now he will learn, adapt and thrive for his own self and for his own peace of mind. ------ The fanfic goes into self-made lore, sci-fi elements, advanced technology and advanced magical studies. patreon.com/smolone-----Lying on the floor was not comfortable but when Harry Potter came back to his senses, he was the least bit uncomfortable. The king cross station was clean, too clean to be real. Everything was white, the walls and benches and even the railroad tracks were just white.
The station stretched infinitely with no end in sight.
A pitiful cry grabbed his attention when he saw a thing wrapped in dirty cloth in a child sized body.
Harry peered at the thing that made him disgusted just by looking at it from a distance. It had a face similar to how Voldemort looked like on the back of Quirrell's head.
In such a pure white and clean place, the only dirty thing was the bundle.
Harry moved away sat at a bench a few feet away, he examined himself only to see that he seemed taller with more fit than he ever thought himself to be.
He was wearing black trousers and emerald, green shirt that looked far too clean for something that Dursley's would let him own.
At least there was some color in this dreary place.
"Hope you are happy with the cloths I prepared for you." A female voice sounded. "They go well with your eyes."
Harry glanced at his right to see a woman sitting next to him. He would never be to tell if she was female because the loose hooded cloak covered everything and he certainly could not see under the cloak.
"These are the cleanest and most comfortable clothes I have ever worn." A genuine slimed formed on his face.
"Are you not afraid?" The entity asked after a few moments of silence.
"Afraid? No." He answered in a tone far more serene than it should have been for a twelve-year-old boy.
"In fact I never felt so free, like a huge weight had left me. I can think things through so easily now. My body doesn't feel uncomfortable and honestly after the life I have lived dying feels like I can finally rest."
Meanwhile the thing on the ground was steadily getting louder, Harry who had now acclimated to the new senses he was feeling knew that it was afraid.
"That thing there though seems to be afraid." He said thoughtfully.
The entity hummed and waved her hand and the thing disappeared like it was never there.
"What was that thing?" He asked curiously.
The entity laughed melodiously, "Indeed, calling it a thing is far better that what it was before it was mutilated so horrendously."
"That was Tom Marvolo Riddle or a part of his soul just like a part that he had stored in his diary."
Harry could not comprehend how Voldemort was here but from what he heard Voldemort was as evil as a person could be. He had leaned almost every dark magic that he could and he even did something dark to his soul.
A hand traced his scar and Harry looked at woman shrouded by her cloak. Was the soul piece inside him?
"Thankfully you delivered a gift that I have been waiting for some time."
Harry Just nodded, He was relieved but could not believe that he had spent 11 years with that thing inside him.
"Will I meet my parents?" Harry finally asked the question that had been in his mind for some time.
"Do you want to?"
"Of course." There was no hesitation in his answer.
A trained rolled around the station and stopped, the doors opened but Harry could only see some blurry figures.
"Or you could go back and live your life the way you or your parents always wanted to."
Harry stiffened but kept silent.
"Since the piece of soul inside you is no more, you would not be hindered by its existence."
Harry leaned back stared at the ceiling upwards.
"You always wanted to travel, be successful so you could make the Dursley's eat their words but ever since you entered the Wizarding world that thirst for power to be free left you. Your parents liked it when you showed that side of you, the one that yearned for a better life. Now, you are just going through the motions unlike previously when struggled and fought for yourself."
"I wanted to forget everything. To start anew." Harry muttered.
"But you forgot that wizards and witches are still human and they could be cruel just like normal people. Good thing you changed your ways after your encounter with Voldemort last year."
"Yeah, I had been studying a lot more and trying to understand the wizarding world better." Harry confirmed.
"With Voldemort out of your mind you could be the smartest and most powerful person in the world." Death continued.
"Smartest I could agree on but powerful, that was never on my mind." He answered.
"Unfortunately, people have plans for you. Voldemort wants to kill you, Dumbledore wants to use you, Ron wants to be better than you, Hermione wants to be smarter than the you and these are the people who are closest to you." She paused, "There are many others who just want something from you and will not stop till they snatch everything you have."
Harry nodded, he had already figured out these things throughout his year at Hogwarts. Ron's constant chess games, Hermione's relentless search for the chamber of secrets and how Dumbledore allowed the entire school to bully him.
Even, his teachers were just ignoring the problems he could easily see. Harry could see that Wizarding world just as cruel as any other place he could find.
"I myself have plans for you. You could help me destroy the other five items like the diary and then defeat Tom Riddle so I can finally have what I am owed."
Harry laughed lightly. "You definitely have the easiest of tasks and one I would gladly do."
Silence fell between them when the entity saw that Harry was deep in thought.
Harry himself was going over everything that he could remember about his life. He would have liked if he had good a childhood but he matured quite quickly and even if he did not know much about magic, he could confidently tell you much more about human nature than any kid his own age.
After going through everything he could remember about his life, Harry came to the conclusion that he was playing someone else's game and if he wanted freedom than he had to do more than just play quidditch and coast through magical subjects.
Maybe it was Dumbledore or Voldemort or maybe it was all a coincidence but everything that had happened to him felt unnatural.
It felt like he could see the holes in his own story, but no one was willing to fill those holes.
He knew practically nothing about his parents. He had heard people comment about potter family but no one explained to him much until he found some books in the library.
Harry had so many questions about himself, his parents, relatives and wizarding world but no one was willing to give him much other than Gryffindor, chaser, intelligent and green eyes.
He knew information was hard to find but even with magic it was 10 times harder than if wanted to find something in non-magical world.
"Where can I find information?" Harry asked after finally admitting to himself that he couldn't get anything done without proper information. Invardently, it also showed that he was willing to go back.
"Potter vault, Potter properties, Hogwarts library, Chamber of secrets and Hogwarts seventh floor. These are the places closest to you, but you can find information almost anywhere even Knockturn alley or a second-hand bookstore in Diagon alley or from people. What matters is how you find it and obtain it."
Harry nodded and sighed; he was almost ready to pass on, but someone just had to throw Voldemort in his face.
"Well, looks like it will take some time before I meet my mom and dad."
"Trust me, they don't want to meet you just yet."
Harry nodded in understanding, he could interpret what his parents meant by not meeting him but he still felt reluctant.
"Oh and stop using my cloak wrong."
Harry just looked at her confused but soon felt his surrounding disappear with darkness approaching from all sides.
-----
Fire coursed through his viens and Harry abruptly opened his eyes.
Fawkes was crying on his wound from the basilisk. Harry grimaced when he observed his tired, injured and normal body.
'Looks like I have to learn some healing and potions to fix myself.' He thought bitterly.
Ignoring his pain Harry woke Ginny up and soon the were being led outside by Fawkes.
Harry went through the motions of answering everyone's questions without giving anything too private away.
All he had to do was show how tired he was and that wasn't too hard, considering he was on verge of fainting.
He handed the hat and diary back to Dumbledore which incidentally also allowed him to free Dobby.
Harry was on his last legs when he reached the infirmary and finally surrendered himself to Poppy's tender mercy.
…..
After a full night of rest and some potions, Harry felt great. Not great enough to be perfect but he could live with it.
After running away from Madam Poppy he had a large breakfast.
Harry learned from the students that exams have already been cancelled and for two weeks he could do anything he want.
Without waiting for anything, he made his way to the seventh floor. Most people never came to this level and all the class rooms were empty.
Harry searched each and every room. He found some old books that he gathered in one place but nothing that could help him immediately.
After an hour of searching and all he could find were abandoned rooms.
From what he understood, Hogwarts was definitely large and had many more rooms that they could ever use.
"What am I even looking for?" He muttered in confusion.
*pop*
"Can Dobby help Harry Potter sir?" A squeaky voice questioned and Harry looked down to see Dobby wrangling his hands looking at him with large eyes.
"I am looking for a special room on this floor Dobby." Harry wanted to keep this to himself but he frustrated with his lack of progress.
"Dobby can ask the other elves." With a muted pop Dobby disappeared.
It took Dobby only a minute but he soon led Harry to a picture that had a man teaching trolls to dance.
Following Dobby's instructions Harry paced three times in front of the picture while thinking about what he wanted.
The picture shifted backwards a door appeared in its place. Harry could scarcely believe what he was seeing but he the wonders of magic never ceased to amaze him.
Entering the room, he saw a cozy large circular library with a reading area in the center.
Harry looked around the library, picked up some books and soon understood what he was seeing.
From his right he could start reading, the first shelve was all about wizarding world. Its economy, politics, and subtle nuances that he would know if Voldemort never attacked his home.
Second shelve was all about magic, how it affected his body, his surroundings, how to train magic, laylines and everything in between.
The room had everything, from the subjects taught by Hogwarts to alchemy, rituals and wandless magic.
Even healing magic that he sorely needed if he even wanted to be taller and more than skin and bones.
"Dobby, what is this place?" He asked excitedly.
"Elves calling it come and go room great Harry Potter sir. It can do anything." Dobby answered happily and soon brought him lots parchment.
Harry thanked Dobby for his help and started reading from the top. The books were arranged in such a way that he would have to from top to bottom.
As soon he finished his first book, Harry felt the change. Reading, retaining information and understanding was much easier.
He could easily recite the whole book and summaries how the wizarding world of today was formed.
A shudder ran through him as he contemplated that within twenty minutes he read a thick book that previously would be quite hard to read.
Without even his input the book disappeared from it place replaced by another one with the addition of another two books named "Magic of Mind" and "Consequences of Dark Magic."
Harry read the extra books first and finally knew why his brain felt so free. The soul shard was inhibiting his mind, magic and even body. Dark magic affected everything, from houses, creatures and people and places.
It could have severe effects on everything, even mentality of people affected by it. Harry was lucky in a way that he was not worse off because some examples in the book were hideous.
But, in a way it also helped him. Harry has always been pushing himself to study, doing magic and exerting himself with the quidditch team.
In a way he was pushing against the influence of dark magic and training himself. Now, that the dark magic is gone his body, magic and mind will develop in certain ways that will be extremely helpful for his future.
Adding speed reading and some memory retention techniques could further allow him to learn faster than any person in the castle right now.
Grinning from ear to ear, Harry decided to spend as much time as possible to learn anything and everything that the room could provide.
