Chapter 1chapter one :Find one get one free

Wooden pillars moaned as strong gust of wind swept past them, it was raining heavily in Innome village. The villagers scuttled around in attempt to bring in the clothes that were left to dry, their livestock, salted meat and most importantly their children. It was a chaotic scene and this chaos was due to the rain that came too suddenly. Firstly, heavy rain poured down with the sky still being bright and sunny without any change in weather. There was no 'secondly'.....

Madam Cato or as the children in the village called her 'mama Cato', was walking under the rain with a tattered umbrella made of some unknown material, which was held up by a young boy looking the age of 16, Angor.

They walked passed the village gate , across a lake before reaching a quirky small building. The boy retrieved his hand as he folded the umbrella and entered the building alongside Mama Cato.

The inside of the building was lined with rows and rows of shelves, each holding oddly shaped potion glasses filled with colourful liquid. Some looked like standing wriggly worms and some being in an hexagonal shape. The tables were filled with all kinds of books, behind the counter was a tall figure dressed in a black cloak with 'it's' neither masculine not feminine hand stretched out unto a crystal ball.

A little breeze blew from the open door and ruffled Mama Cato's white hair and Her yellow sheath dress.

Mama Cato stared at the figure for over two minutes without speaking .The figure finally put down it's hand and looked at mama Cato with its blue piercing eyes.

"You will find Him today and maybe...." A raspy voice came from under the cloak.

"Maybe...?"Mama Cato asked.

"Nah, never mind. It's nothing special ".As soon as the figure spoke a shoe came flying at the cloaked personnel .

"Then why put it in your statement? useless old hag".Mama Cato spoke with disgust.

"170 years old granny calling a young person like me 'old' .Hahaha!!!! ".The figure spoke as it pulled down the cloak exposing it's facial features. It had a genderless face.

"So 168 years is young?. Bane, it's seems like this body's brain is messing you up and it's also getting messed up by your divination. Anyways , have you found your gender?".Mama Cato didn't even wait for an answer or pick Herr shoe as She turn around and left with the young boy.

It seemed like she knew she wasn't getting an answer. Bane looked like 'It' was struggling to find an answer for that seemingly easy question.

Mama Cato, on the way back to the village, walked at slower pace than She did when she was leaving. Along the way, She searched every nook and cranny of the street in search for Him.

'Apart from those 'things' what else will be special about Him' She sometimes wondered. It wasn't until She reached the village gate that She saw some of the adults and children from the village gathered together, collectively using one gigantic umbrella.... if it could be called one.

Mama Cato yelled "what are you people doing under this heavy rain?!".

The village head, Gundur spoke loudly "Old hag come and see what we found".

Although mama Cato was pissed with the way Gundur called Her She still came over and peered down.

'Where is her shoe?' Gundur thought. He was about to bring it up not until.....

"Finally!" mama Cato yelled. She picked the baby wrapped in purple cloth from a woven basket as She smiled with joy.

" Is this the child? "Gundur asked seeing mama Cato smile foolishly.

"Of course He is the one, can't you see His eyes?" She replied.

The villagers stared at them and were entranced by what they saw in those eyes.

The child's eyes were plain white with three tiny dot swirling around while maintaining its triangular formation.

It wasn't until Mama Cato said "You people shouldn't stare at His eyes too long unless you want to see what you can't handle",that they finally looked away wit confusion being evident in their eyes .

"What did you see?" it was the head tailor of the village that asked the question to no one in particular.

"I saw a something with.. with...er...what did I see again? . " Radner the village tailor spoke incoherently.

"You people should keep shut, you can't remember what you saw right? "Mama Cato asked.

"..." the villagers.

Mama Cato sighed and spoke with a low voice seeing the blank faces of those who stared for too long" Its better you don't remember at all, try to forget every thing you saw ".

Crack!

Lightning struck at nearby tree in such clear skies that it gave the villagers a fright.

Wah Wah!!! .

Wah! Wah!! .The sound of a crying baby resounded throughout the whole street. Everybody looked towards mama Cato but they were surprised to see Her not looking at the baby in Her hand but staring intently at the tree that had just been struck by lightning.

With a sigh she turned her head, looked at the young boy beside Her .He shook His head.

'Is this what babe was talking about? ' With that thought in my She entered the village with the baby in Her arms.

Everyone immediately dispersed except one person, the village head Gundur. He looked towards the village with a pondering expression then towards the tree that shielded that black bag. He stayed under the rain for over 30minutes before a creepy smile surface His face.

Gundur entered the village, the villagers that loved to gossip were discussing under some empty shelter looked at the drenched 'man' weirdly as He entered his small house but soon continued their discussion.

Mama Cato looked toward Gundur's house.

Crack!

Crack!

Crack!. Lightning struck in three quick succession as the rain suddenly stopped and if someone were looking at the tree that was struck they would find that the bag had disappeared .
