Chapter 1Life and Death.

This is the story of Jin Suzuki, a young man who became a paraplegic before he could even walk.

His mother, Kazumi Suzuki, a housewife, had dropped him down a staircase when he was several months old. Admittedly, she was drunk at the time so her motor functions were not at their best, but it was her fault all the same.

He was lucky that the fall didn't kill him but his life was changed forever since then.

His father, Toichiro Suzuki, a rich CEO of a trading company, was incensed when he learned of the matter but it was too late for his son.

The damage had already been done and divorcing his wife would destroy his wealth so he ultimately had to forgive her after a few years.

Of course, he knew that there was no cure for paraplegia but he still tried as much as possible. Surgeries, all types of natural and pharmaceutical medicines, he even tried getting help from "spiritual" doctors but, to no avail.

Kazumi was barely any help as her drinking problem only got worse after realizing what she did to her son.

Depression.

Shame.

Guilt.

Regret.

Sadness.

These emotions rattled her to her core in every waking moment. No matter how much she apologized to him, she never felt any better.

The entire situation was truly tragic.

Fortunately, as the years went by, Jin turned out to be a marginally happy, energetic young boy who was always very curious about the things around him. Like most children, really.

The only difference was that he couldn't explore anything he was curious about. Most times he just sat by the window of his large bedroom and stared out at the world outside.

His butler would carry him outside sometimes, but that was only on the order of his parents, more specifically, his father. See, Jin had a very...special family.

His father was a great man in the public eye, a surprisingly good husband to his wife and well, he never really existed to his son.

Toichiro was very concerned about his image.

He wanted the people to know that his home was in order and that his family was perfect. Both he and Kazumi could clean up their acts when guests came over or questions were asked about them, but Jin was always left out.

In fact, after he had his last surgery, Toichiro moved him into the large bedroom he was currently in and never visited him again. For all intents and purposes, Jin was dead to him.

This was because, in the Asian world, face was VERY important. Usually in the west, taking good care of your disabled child would only bring great benefit to your public image but in the business sector of the Asian world, having a child that was disabled would only cause your peers to ridicule your "potency" in bed.

Toichiro couldn't have that affecting the image and the respect that he had built over the past few decades. So he threw Jin away instead. To him, he could always have another child. To him and the world, Jin Suzuki never existed.

So one could imagine how lonely Jin's days were.

Kazumi was the only one that tried to take care of his basic needs as much as her husband would allow her to. What that meant was hiring a butler and just giving Jin a weekly allowance of a couple hundred thousand yen to buy what he wanted off the internet.

That's how he discovered the thing that he came to love the most in his life.

The world of martial arts.

The legend of the silver fox, Chen Zhen, Jet Li movies, Jackie Chan movies, Donnie Yen movies, Tony Ja movies, Korean martial art movies, English action movies, MMA, boxing, Cultivation novels, Manga, Anime; everything related to martial arts Jin loved.

To him, since he was born, this was the only thing that made him genuinely happy from the depths of his soul. He adored martial arts with his entire being.

Sometimes he would sit there at his computer in his wheelchair for 23 hours out of the entire day watching old Chinese movies. If he didn't have to take bathroom breaks, shower, or eat, that number would've easily been at 24.

Of course, his parents quickly discovered this hobby of his. As usual, Toichiro did nothing but Kazumi started buying whatever martial art-related clothing, toys, or entertainment she could find.

It was like life had suddenly returned to her.

If Toichiro hadn't forbidden her from seeing Jin, she would've easily gone to learn karate herself just to show it off to Jin. Regardless of her aging physique.

Interestingly enough though, Toichiro never complained about giving Jin money to fund his new hobby. Sometimes he would even put in a few extra hundred thousand in Jin's allowance just because he felt like it.

This was them showing Jin a twisted form of "love" in their own way.

Years passed and Jin continued investing in his newfound love. Sometimes he would get too excited over the fighters doing their moves and he would try to follow along with a kick or a punch.

He only succeeded in the punching aspect but he was still content.

What Jin envied the most about martial artists though wasn't their moves or their strength, no, it was their freedom. They could go anywhere, do anything and in some cases even fly.

Just thinking about leaving his room and walking around the yard would his blood boil with excitement, much less achieving impossible feats like flight.

His nether regions rose in excitement just at the thought.

This routine continued for...well, all of Jin's life.

His parents had gotten two more children after they moved him out of the house, shutting him out of their lives even more.

They continued sending him money weekly until they passed. After that, their wealth was split between the two children and Jin. They received 50% of all Toichiro's money and Jin's younger brother became the new CEO of the trading company while Jin received the remaining 50% of his money.

That totaled to about 6.9 billion yen. So it was safe to say that he was set for the rest of his life.

In truth, Jin had never hated his parents. To him, they brought him into this world and introduced him to martial arts. That was enough to cover any sin they had committed in the past.

Unfortunately, though, he couldn't even remember their faces. He hadn't seen them since he was a boy.

Now, he was 80 years old, on his death bed, with his maids and his siblings standing next to him. Now that he was about to die, he thought that he should at least let them know the truth and most importantly, give the remainder of his money to them so they can put it to good use.

"Jin...w-we're so sorry...*sob*...*sob*...how could they put you through that? And to think Mom and Dad were so good to us...no wonder they never let us visit that room..."

His younger sister, Yuki, was crying her eyes out when she saw him there. His brother, Kazuya was so shaken that he couldn't even speak.

Jin smiled lightly and said, "You two barely know me and have shed tears over me, for that I am happy. You've done enough. I've led a fulfilling life. Don't blame our parents too much."

Yuki sat down and just cried as she could say nothing more. She had no memories with Jin, but to hear that she had a brother living like this the whole time and the first time they meet, he was about to die was just too much for her heart to bear.

Kazuya took a deep breath and stepped forward to lay his hand on Jin's chest.

"Ji- no, older brother. We will give you a proper funeral even if it ruins our fathers' reputation. I, Kazuya Suzuki, swear on my life and everything I hold dear that I will accomplish that task."

Jin immediately objected as he didn't want his father's reputation to be ruined but Kazuya was hearing none of it. Kazuya's mind was already made up.

"Then, younger brother, may I ask you to do one thing for me?"

Kazuya knelt on one knee and held Jin's hand tightly as he responded, "Anything, brother."

Jin pointed at a poster of, funnily enough, "Jin Kazuma" from Tekken on the wall and said, "Cremate me with that poster in my hands. It's my favorite one. When you do, release me into the winds atop a hill so that I can finally be free."

Kazuya's body trembled as he heard Jin's words. He looked Jin in the eye and responded, "You have my word."

After he received that confirmation, Jin felt like a weight had been taken off his shoulders. Even though he was about to die, his attitude stayed positive.

A few hours later, Jin finally passed on, ending his "fulfilling life" in the world.

His funeral took place publicly and as one would expect, the public was shaken when they heard about the life Jin led. Although he told his siblings to keep his money to grow the business, they instead donated it to a foundation consisting primarily of paraplegic children as an ode to Jin.

As Kazuya released his ashes upon a hill just like Jin wanted, he muttered quietly, "In your next life, I hope you are born healthier and your family isn't as useless as ours. Goodbye, brother."

Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures

A man from an Earth gets the choice to start over in any Universe and chooses an Alternate Pokemon Universe. Let us see if his journey to the top is succesful and the impact he will have on his new world. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. I just use their sandbox for the plot of my MC and my OCs. This will be a "slow" paced story, in fact it's "super slow paced", so please don't expect the MC to directly start his journey in 20 chapters or so, actually multiply that by like 15. A lot is going to happen before that happens. The first 10-20 chapters or so are information heavy, depending on what kind of reader you are. I try to keep my chapter length between 2000 and 3000 words per chapter. My release rate is 4 chapter/week for now. I have a patre*n for those that want to support me with access to some advance chapters as a thank you. patre*n.com/Azrail93 This is an alternate pokemon universe so there will be differences to the games, manga and anime. So if something in the story is different it is most likely on purpose. The original sources are seen as suggestions not laws. Differences can be: Type variants, evolution conditions, strength mechanics, world building and more. If I am at some point asking for reader input I will do so but otherwise I will ignore most suggestions. So please don't spam things like catch this pokemon or do that next. I have my plot planned and external input will be considered when asked for. If I see a suggestion that I believe fit my plot flow I will use it and will credit the commentor. Comments on spelling and grammar mistakes are welcome. I will try to correct said mistakes with time. Constructive criticism will be read and considered. Insult and hate comments will be ignored or deleted depending on severity. Readers naturally can comment their dislike but one worders will be ignored. If the reason for the dislike is explained I will read it. Like previously mentioned pure insults and hate comments will be ignored or deleted. The same is true for simple hate reviews or insulting ones. Reviews complaining about something I warned about, such as the slow pace, will be deleted as well.
