face off

for someone like Cycle, you could compare a gruesome as battlefield to a time of fellowship. He was vicious, taking joy in the slaughter of the persons he was ordered to: having a demonic smile on his face as he sliced their knees with his blade like hands. When they fell, he would keep slicing at their thighs and feet, making sure they would be crippled even after the battle was over, then he would leave happily, on to the next one. He avoided killing them like his live depended on it, cause killing them wasn't what made it so fascinating.

What made it interesting was hearing the enemies on the floor screaming out in pain, rolling in their own blood. To him, that's when they were one. When he could understand them most. His fascination with pain and torture started all the way back when they were in the woods, before the boss took care of them, when no one could eat. They all tried to hunt by themselves, but they simply weren't strong enough. Back then Cycle didn't understand anything.

Even if he couldn't describe his thoughts as he couldn't speak, he did know what he meant. Asking himself question's like, "why do I want to eat other creatures now?" or "can't we just stay in the cave?" Even the other goblins confused him. Back then all they did to eatchother to communicate was bark and growl. Seemingly only surviving on instincts and nothing else. He didn't understand what made them similar or kin, but he stuck by them.

Cycle remembered this deeply, as a vivid memory of that week always sticks by him. He and his brothers tried to attack a sprinter, this one was a male with horns that was taller then they were.

It was an aggressive animal that didn't like to be hunted, so when it felt threatened by the goblin's, it rushed to his partner horns first, stabbing him in the chest. Blood pulsed from the gaping wound like a red River. It was the first time Cycle saw that. Then, his partner cried, really hard. His pain could be heard by everyone that was close enough. Cycle couldn't process happened in time as the sprinter attacked him next. harming him in the same way. There he lied on the floor with blood streaming of his chest. The feeling of a thousand needles finally understood.

Both of the goblin's cried together for hours. Finally he could understand something in the other goblin, a feeling he feared but loves so dearly. This was his way of connection. So while his squad and the piranha's continued fighting until the enemies dwindled. He was making beautiful memories. It didn't take to long for the black armored soldiers to notice them.

Soon a small force of fifteen enemies turned to the kids and faced them.

It was seconds after when Sunjack arrived at the battlefield. He knew that the kids split up earlier, leaving a part of their force outside to assist the city guards. Of what he saw up until now the kids were doing fine, taking down ten kinga's in a short span of time. That was until the kinga's sent a medium force to eliminate them. He wanted to save the Hailan most of all but leaving the others like this was going to be lethal.

Looking at the town square building Sunjack grit his teeth and ran to his left where the children were. They outnumbered the kinga's nineteen to fifteen but they were barely holding up. Without the element of surprise on their side the kids were very weak.

Smaller, less experienced, worse equipment and in general less organized than their grown up counterparts. It took only minutes into their battle and the children were getting kicked around. Sunjack saw how the kinga's were chopping through their wooden spears. One Kinga stood over a kid with his sword pointed at the boy's throath, sweating bullets wile looking in the his eyes.

Clearly anxious the man took a step back only for his body to crash on the floor like a heavy bag. His head landed moments later bouncing like a tennis ball. "No such thing as mercy for bastard's like you Kinga fucks." It was Sunjack who caused that, his blade glimmered like a flashlight. He ran over the dead body to the next soldiers, they saw him coming, left their current inferior opponents and swung at Sunjack.

Like a snake Sunjack slithered past their swords, chopping six of them down one after the other. He stopped at the seventh one, he was to fast. Sunjack positioned his feet in a defensive maner and swung his sword at the blade of the enemy instead. "We don't want mercy, after all you Dangerang losers need all the wins you can get." The Kinga had yellow eyes, that was the first thing that Sunjack noticed, as the enemy looked him deep in the eyes.

In these few moments several Kinga soldiers got stabbed in their distraction as a last ditch attempt by the kids. Only three managed to join against Sunjack. One of them was at his level, with three other joining he was outmatched. All of them attacked after eatchother leaving no time for Sunjack to relax. They began outpacing him, then Sunjack got cut on his forearm, after that on his cheek, again on his chest, and then a deep one in his thigh. He fell on his knees. The yellow eyed Kinga now towered over Sunjack, his blade pointed to the sky "If that was all you had you shouldn't ever have come to the battlefield. Be honored you get to get slayed by group leader Rock young man."

The kids were too tired, the guards to busy, Sunjack knew no one was going to help. So he bit his lip, and gripped his handle tight. "Don't think I'm done yet Rock! It takes more for an old man like you to take me down." The group leader grimaced, then struck down with his blade aimed at Sunjack's neck. "HOW DISRESPECTFUL!!!"

Instantly, Sunjack's blade turned orange and red, then flames started emitting from it. Sunjack stood up then did a horizontal swipe for Rock's stomach, the man jumped backwards, evading the blade. Still, fire so hot it turned blue, so massive it looked like a small wave, washed over the three other Kinga soldiers burning them to a crisp. The stone floor underneath them was glowing, looking like lava.

Rock managed to survive yet he threw of his upper body clothes like they were on fire, cause they were. He grunted, "I didn't know you had a Banstone. And I couldn't have expected you to know how use one. What's your name young man?"

"Sunjack, first son of Lapsun." He said that with confidence, knowing that he was at the end of his ropes. That last attack sucked everything out of him, that's why he didn't use it untill he was cornered. He didn't feel anything in his legs, and he was panting like a dog. That didn't mean he was done, he still had to save that Hailan no matter what.

suddenly, the top of the town building exploded, and out of the clouds of dust one man jumped. Sunjack looked to the sky and could tell that this man was the general of this charge. Not only did he draw the attantion of every soldier on the field, he also wore a dark blue cape with the banner of the army on in (something only people with the highest honor could do) a red circles with a black letter in it. The man had an axe in one hand, a bag with something in it clenched between his teeth, and a unconscious goblin in the other, it was the Hailan. Sunjack eyes opened wide, same with his mouth. The general landed on one of the roofs overseeing his army.

Then yelled with full force, "Soldiers! We all retreat now, we have reached our objective, all of you shall be rewarded greatly by the king on the ceremony." Then every Kinga soldier cheered loudly enough for the air to tremor. At the same time the city guards had depression wash over them, some fell to their knees, others even began to cry.

"Objective, what objective?" Sunjack thought to himself. "the city hasn't been conquered yet. We aren't done." But when he looked to the city guards he knew something was wrong. Then he looked at the top of the building, with it's roof destroyed. "Father..." He whispered.

Rock smirked, "Well, I would've loved to use my Banstone too, but it seems like I have ran out of time. Shame you showed up so late Sunjack." He turned to the direction of the city gates but turned his head to the side, "You have big shoes to fill now son of Lapsun, better fill them quick." Then he walked away. The general jumped from roof to roof away untill he got out of the city.

The Kinga soldiers also left, but not so easily, the city guards were angry, and took whatever soldier they could.

But that was the end of the battle.

Sunjack went to check what happened at the third floor of the building, finding the energy to do so even after he used his Banstone. Scaling the stairs so fast that he stumbled a few times, his heart beating anxiously. He had a few guesses as to what happened, thoughts he wanted to ignore but couldn't. A part of him wanted to return home and act like nothing had happened, but he knew that would be irresponsible

So he continued running, his feet weighing like iron, slowing down on the last few steps.

Then he was in the hallway if the third floor, normally there would be a door leading into the office of the city elder, but now it was just busted open. First thing he saw was his little brother unconscious lying on top a bunch of rubble.
