Akira Tanaka, a disillusioned office worker, wakes up to find himself not in his cramped apartment, but in a fantastical world teeming with magic and monsters. He soon discovers he's been thrust into a brutal "God Game," a competition between higher beings who pit civilizations against each other for their amusement. Unlike the other players, reincarnated as powerful heroes or cunning strategists, Akira is an "Irregular." He possesses no special skills or combat prowess. Armed with nothing but his sardonic wit and a surprising knowledge of strategy gleaned from years of online gaming, Akira must navigate a world where survival hinges on building a civilization from scratch. Thrown into a hostile environment populated by orcs, elves, and territorial dwarves, Akira struggles to earn the trust of the scattered human tribes. With the help of a mysterious guide, a mischievous fairy with a gambling addiction, and a band of misfit outcasts, Akira devises unorthodox methods to build his fledgling nation. As Akira's unorthodox methods lead to unexpected successes, he attracts the attention of both rival players and the enigmatic Game Masters themselves. Now, he must not only contend with powerful warriors and scheming deities, but also the question of what it truly means to be a leader and a god. Is victory his ultimate goal, or will he forge a different path, defying the very rules of the game and rewriting the fate of his world?
"Where the hell am I?, Last thing I remember was falling asleep after a long day." Akira spoke with shock on his face as he surveyed the area which looked new to him.
"It seems like I'm in a forest, but this doesn't seem like any forest I know of, the plants here seem old, the air here smells peculiar and strange."
He walked around finding it hard to believe that he woke up here after going to bed the night before. He remembered how hectic the past day was and now it seemed like he was in some Dreamland.
"The plants are brimming with energy as well, it's far better than anything I've seen but this all seems like a dream to me."
"I'm supposed to have gotten ready for work by now, or was I kidnapped?!"
"Was I kidnapped and dumped here by the goons?!."
"They might be watching me right now, seeing if I'll do anything stupid and then they'll tie me up for real."
"Or maybe they've contacted where I work and told them that they'd lose a good employee if they didn't pay the ransom."
"But come to think of it, if I was truly kidnapped then I'd be tied up to prevent me running away or contacting anyone for help but it seems that I'm just stranded here."
He walked around exploring the new scene which he had found himself.
"If I'm not ready to go to work in a few minutes then I'll be fired, what am I gonna do now?"
He walked around in tension thinking about what the next line of action should be, how he would get out of here and how he would go to work.
Growl!!!
"What was that?!."
He turned around, he saw nothing but shiny blue eyes about 400 metres away from him, he stood trying to contemplate what it was, the owner of the eyes moved forward and revealed itself.
A giant wolfman walked forward, sending fear through the spine of Akira, the wolfman charged at him. Akira started running away, moving through the forest as he had nothing to fight against the beast.
"What the hell is this? Do things like this exist in forests?" Akira thought as he ran, he ran and ran until he found a tree which he could climb.
"Thank God this tree was here." He hid in the tree, he looked below and saw the wolfman sniffing around, then the beast looked up and sensed that It's prey was in the tree. It started punching the tree, trying to get to his prey that was hidden at the top, Akira looked around for anywhere he could hide but he found none.
The wolfman continued punching the tree in anticipation of the meal he would have when the tree fell, he broke the trunk with his punches and dragged it away from it's roots unnerving Akira who hid at the top.
"This is one precarious situation I've found myself in right now." Akira thought it was over for him as the tree fell hard.
[Run eastward]
"What was that? Who said that?" He looked around the place trying to find the person who spoke.
[Just trust my words, run eastward]
Akira ran with all of his strength, he swiftly passed the wolfman and kept on running without looking back, the wolfman stood in astonishment as his prey was trying to escape from him, a wicked smile escaped his lips and he chased after Akira.
[Keep on running and don't look back]
He heard the voice once again but he didn't care who spoke as he heeded the words that were spoken to him. The wolfman started throwing stones and branches of trees at him but none never seemed to really hit him as he kept on running with all the speed he had.
[There's a cave about a mile away, it's just after you cross the river]
"River?!." Akira thought, he had never been gotten into a body of water before, the only times water touched him were when the rain fell on his way to work and when he took his bath, he didn't even have time to cook for himself as he put all of his life into his job but that would all be in vain if this beast caught up to him and ate him for all he's worth.
[Just keep up with it and do everything that I tell you to do]
The voice seemed ominous but he trusted it and then he thought, "What if this was the wolfman speaking to him to lure him into it's den?" It had mentioned a cave as wolves do stay in caves and there might be more wolves if he went in that direction.
[I thought I told you to trust me?]
"How do you expect me to trust you in this situation?" Akira shouted at the voice and then he heard a sigh as the voice seemed to be disappointed in his judgment. Can I really trust someone that I can't see?.
[I told you before that you could trust me and it would do you a lot of good if you did]
He ignored the voice as he kept on running and then he sighted the river, the river didn't seem that big but it would hinder him as he crossed and there didn't seem to be any time for him to set up a log to use as a bridge.
[Just swim]
"Huh?!." Akira shouted in shock, the wolfman was on his tail, running at him with little effort.
[I said swim]
"I have a better idea, you stupid voice."
[What?!]
He ignored the voice's continued outbursts as he reached the river, the wolfman stopped as it thought that it was a dead end for it's prey and started walking towards him with genuine menace, Akira put his foot into the water and found it to be only knee deep, he moved as fast as he could across the river while the wolfman continued watching him with interest.
He was able to cross the river and ran in the direction of the cave, he ran with all his might as he felt the cave getting closer and closer. He ran in and collapsed, he was exhausted and terrified as to what had happened to him.
"What is this place? Where am I?"
