As the guests waited for the ceremony to begin, a sudden commotion erupted at the back of the chapel. Madam Jiang, the groom's mother, stormed down the aisle, her face red with rage.

"Where the hell is Jiang Chenbai?!!" she roared, her voice echoing off the walls.

The guests gasped in shock, and the organ music faltered. Xu Chenyao, the bride, stood frozen at the altar, her eyes wide in surprise which slowly turned cold.

"Madam Jiang how can you embarrass us Bai's like this!..." Master Bai angrily butted in, his eyes scanning the guests in search for Jiang Chenbai.

"Embarrass you?! It should be your daughter who has disgraced us. Ask her, where is her groom!"

Madam Jiang's lips twisted in anger as she marched up to Xu Chenyao.

"You brat! You must have done something to chase my son away," she spat. "You're not worthy of him."

A slap landed on Xu Chenyao's face, stunning the priest, the guests, and everyone who was present.

Right on the altar, the bride had been slapped, and the groom was nowhere to be seen.

"Sorry, everyone, the wedding has been cancelled. It seems the groom has cold feet," Madam Jiang announced, her voice dripping with venom as she stared at Xu Chenyao coldly.

Xu Chenyao touched her stinging cheek, her expression turning frosty.

She was actually glad the wedding was canceled, she didn't know how long she would be able to stand madam Jiang before she bite back.

Madam Bai frowned deeply, noticing that Bai youyou, her youngest daughter was also not present. Master Bai leaned, whispered into his wife ears.

"Get that failure of a daughter out of here now.."

Xu Chenyao didn't say a word as she was led out of the venue.

Her hands clenched, the Bai's, the Jiang's she wondered how long she would be able to take their nonsense.

In the Bai mansion, Xu Chenyao had her head lowered as madam Bai berated her.

Wang Fanqia stepped forward, her eyes blazing with anger.

"You useless trash!" Wang Fanqia berated, her voice loud and shrill. "You can't even hold onto a man! What's wrong with you?"

Xu Chenyao's eyes flashed with defiance, but she remained silent, her jaw clenched in anger.

"You're just like your father," Wang Fanqia sneered. "A complete disappointment. I'm ashamed to call you my daughter. It's just getting married since when did it become so hard."

Xu Chenyao's face twisted in rage, but she kept her cool.

"But why am I surprised, a country bumpkin with a less than average education. Which high ranked man would ever want to marry you."

Xu Chenyao suddenly smiled, as she opened her mouth to speak, her voice icy. "I'm glad to be rid of Jiang Chenbai, you have the guts to call him a high ranked man, he's not but a educated scumbag. He's my fiancé but he has other women including your daughter as his flings.." she spat. "Jiang Chenbai is below average, he neither has the smarts or looks I want in a man. If Bai Youyou wants him, she can have him."

At first, she thought she was being filial by obeying their wishes and doing whatever they wanted.

But today she had realized no matter what she did, they would never accept her so there was no use to keep trying.

"You insolent bitch!"

Wang Fanqia raised her hand to slap Xu Chenyao but she caught it.

"You think you get to hit me too?" Xu Chenyao said, her voice icy. "I won't let you treat me like a doormat.."

Wang Fanqia's face turned white with rage, but Xu Chenyao just smiled, a cold, calculating smile.

"I'll leave this house, and I'll make sure you regret the day you called me a disappointment.."Xu Chenyao said coldly.

She was supposed to be her mother, too bad they had turned out to be enemies.

"Fine! Leave! You'll never amount to anything.."Wang Fanqia screamed, her face twisted with anger.

"Gladly.." Xu Chenyao replied, her eyes never leaving Wang Fanqia's face.

Xu Chenyao turned and walked away, leaving Wang Fanqia seething with anger.

Master Bai, who had been watching dragged his wife to the corner, what the hell had happened during his short disappearance.

"Wang Fanqia, did you just chase our daughter away?"

"That useless trash is not my daughter! Youyou is so much better than her..."

Bai Chuanjie frowned and he angrily pointed at Wang Fanqia.

"Youyou had 20 years to become what she is today and that was with our help...and you gave Chenyao how many months? Three months!.."

"The nerve you have woman, you must have been at the back of the line when they were handling out brains or did old age make you this dumb.."

Wang Fanqia frowned as she pushed Bai Chuanjie away."How dare you insult my intelligence!"

"Shut up! In my house I decide whether or not she needs to leave. Don't forget we still need her.."

Bai Chuanjie looked at the stairs, he had to fix this, he was wasting brain cells if he continued talking with Wang Fanqia.

"Call your beloved Youyou and tell her to come home right now and let her bring that bastard Jiang Chenbai along with her.."

Bai Chuanjie stepped to the side and walked upstairs.

Meanwhile Xu Chenyao was busy stuffing her clothes inside her suitcase.

Three months, three months, they had made her life miserable with every minute they could get.

Humiliated her, treated her like a low life but the sham of a wedding was the last straw.

She looked at room, what else could she be missing?

She unplugged it and carefully placed it inside the suitcase when she heard a knock.

"Yaoyao it's me, can I come in for a little chat?"

Xu Chenyao pursed her lips as she stood up and unlocked the door. Bai Chuanjie remorseful face coming to full view.

"What do you want?"

"I see you've already packed your things?.."

Bai Chuanjie looked inside the room, seeing the suitcase close to the bed.

"She wanted me gone, so I'm leaving.."

Bai Chuanjie sighed, perhaps it was best if she left, being away from Fanqia and Youyou would do her good.

"I won't stop you, not that I'm chasing you away but I think it would be good to live in a different place, away from your mother and sister.."

Xu Chenyao smiled deprecatingly, he couldn't handle is own wife and daughter so taking her to a different place was his best option.

But she didn't care, she was leaving either way.

"My friend owns a real estate company, I could get you a nice apartment uptown and fill up your account."
