Chapter Two: Decision

I continued to eat my dessert quietly until the following words of my father almost made me choke on the dessert I was having.

" Mr Alexander La here will be teaching you certain stuffs you will have to know before I can hand over the family's company to you Zara". He had a distinction certificate on business management and the company him and his elder brother Lucas owns, has been flourishing very well these past years.

So I presume he would teach you some of the recent 21st century tricks you need to know towards having a successful business. "Why can't you continue to teach me about the family business like you always did since I was in the seventh grade ?" I asked.

He replied by saying that he wasn't the young man he was then any more and his getting older and his just trying his best to make sure that the sweat my late grand father passed through while building the company from the scratch won't be in vain.

I understood fully well my father's point of view since I have been so excited that the years I would rule over the family's company was approaching and if my father felt I needed more practice even after having a degree on business administration and management, I would comply fully.

Wait!!! was my father out of his minds?? Well i was sure he wasn't but he was suddenly trusting me in the hands of a man I presumed to be suspicious and I was just meeting for the first time that day. My father that restricted my movements and never let me leave the mansion without bodyguards even though I had a full training in self defense techniques was suddenly letting me learn under this man without any security measures attached…Everything seemed so off then.

" it would be an honor for my brother and I to teach Miss Zara all she needs to know" Alexander said in a rather warm and polite tone that made me think he wasn't as alarming as I posed him to be. My mother also showed full support with her words about the idea of my father.

They seemed to be happy with it and I hadn't wanted to go against their will. If training under this mysterious man and his brother, was a major way towards achieving my dreams, I would do it I said.

A man who seemed to be in his 60's that my father was conversing with earlier which I learnt that his name was Mr Sebastian La,smiled so genuinely like I was his granddaughter that just gave him a grandchild.

The woman sitting next to him which I assumed to be his wife then, gave me a weird smile which didn't make me feel any less suspicious of this woman too.

The rather cold and indifferent expression from the young man at the left hand side of Mr Sebastian amazed me. He hadn't said anything concerning the matter we discussed but what amazed me even more was his sky blue eyes, thick brown hair and pale pink lips. Not less to mention his height and firm body structure which made it obvious that he was always on a strict diet.

I looked down at my empty plate of dessert and prayed that these mysterious guests wouldn't make me regret my decision. My mother gave me a reassuring smile which made me feel better.
