Chapter 7: Siblings
"So what Servants are left in the war?" Artoria asked before grabbing a sandwich and starting to eat it.
The three of them were sitting in a bar. Shirou was dressed casually, as was Artoria, who had changed out of her metallic armor for this occasion. The only one of the three who stood out was Julius, who was still wearing his aristocratic clothes.
To cover his eyes, he had donned a pair of sunglasses, which only accentuated his suspicious appearance. Shirou had felt a bit embarrassed by all the looks they received.
Julius rested his hands on the table.
"We defeated Rider, now there is Medea, who acts as Caster, Cú Chulainn as Lancer, Sasaki Koujirou is the Assassin..." the magus listed them one by one. "The Berserker this time is Heracles."
Shirou knew most of them, although some only by chance. However, he knew the legend of Heracles well and was surprised that even someone like him could be summoned as a Servant.
"You'd be surprised if you knew." Julius seemed to read his thoughts. "I would prefer not to meet Berserker, a battle against that bastard would be bad for the city."
Artoria nodded as she ate without concern.
"Tohsaka also has a Servant right?" Shirou questioned.
Julius sat up in the chair.
"I prefer not to hide anything from you, but let me tell you that now is probably not the time for you to learn Archer's name." He warned seriously.
The boy was tempted to ask, but he thought there was a good reason for Julius's words.
"I guess I'd rather not know, then." He reluctantly answered.
The magus smiled kindly.
"In this world, knowledge is power, but only when obtained at the right time and under the right conditions." He explained. "Knowing more than necessary can lead to your destruction, and I am not exaggerating..."
Shirou looked away.
"No need to lecture me yet, old man." He muttered to Julius's amusement.
"Master doesn't know how to joke anyway, keep that in mind, Shirou." Saber smiled at the boy and they both laughed.
The magus sighed in exasperation.
'These two have gotten too close in such a short time.' He inwardly cursed that he had sent them alone.
While the other two chatted among themselves, Julius opened his system.
'As I thought, copying Artoria's Mana Burst gave me a huge boost in digestion, as opposed to copying things I already know just to deploy them instantly.' He analyzed. 'I should be able to reach Sequence 5 during this war. Luckily, I've already been preparing the ritual for a while.'
The ritual to advance to Sequence 5 Traveler was originally about recording four coordinates in the Spirit World that were very far from each other.
This served the purpose of preventing the Beyonder from getting lost in his breakthrough.
Traveler granted the Beyonder the ability to do just that, travel. However, it was not a simple form of travel, instead, it allowed him to use the Spirit World to travel vast distances in the blink of an eye.
Julius had been thinking of a way to change the ritual since he had no way to enter the Spirit World yet.
Luckily, he had something that the Beyonders in the world of Lord of the Mysteries didn't: magecraft.
And it was for this reason that he specialized in Bounded Fields. The Spirit World had different laws than the natural world, but it was a representation of the latter, so what he needed was to form a smaller world that he couldn't get lost in.
'It only remains for me to perfect it...' Julius felt excitement at what he was about to achieve, this would be a trump card until he reached the level of a Demigod, even then it would still be useful.
Although revealing something like that had certain consequences, he knew that he could keep it a secret from all magi. Zelretch might know, but that old vampire wouldn't care, most likely.
He looked out the window of the bar and realized that it was already getting dark. He automatically used his scrying ability and his eyes widened.
"Guys, we have to go." He stood up. "I've changed my mind, we'll take care of Berserker tonight."
They were stunned, hadn't he just said that he wanted to avoid a fight if possible?
Still, they got up and went with him, but only after paying a handsome sum of money for Artoria's sandwiches.
Julius led them to the outskirts of the city, not trying to hide. Soon, a dense fog began to cover them, although they could still see clearly.
"I thought we'd have to go find you ourselves." Julius spoke.
In front of the group of three, there were two figures: one very small and the other very large.
"Good night, big brother." The little girl greeted Shirou, who was surprised. "I've been slow to find you, probably thanks to you, Julius Abraham."
She spoke in an innocent tone, but Berserker behind her removed any appearance of a cute girl.
"Illyasviel von Einzbern, it's nice to meet you." Julius returned the salute.
Ilya smiled. "I'm surprised that a genius like you knows my name."
He said nothing.
"Do you know her, Julius?" Shirou asked him.
The magus nodded in response.
"She is the daughter of Kiritsugu Emiya." He revealed. "This girl is your sister, Shirou."

MC can only use the divination ability at night time because he needs too look at the stars (sequence 7 is called Astrologer).
