chapter 149: You are not the only person who tried !

He said to them and ran to May's direction.

Alyssa in embarrassment also bowed before everyone making sure that Gladys didn't see her face and after this she walked away as her legs could take.

Everyone paved a way for her as she walked with all eyes on her. But she didn't lift her head so they couldn't see her face clearly.

Gladys was about to follow when Jenny came to her and now everyone went back to their business.

" Mrs Gladys..." Jenny said with a smile.

" Ms Jenny..." Gladys responded.

" We apologize for that awful scene but you know...it was an accident. What took you long ? You almost missed the party . " Jenny said since the party was really coming to it's end.

" And So sorry Ms Jenny. You know I have taken long without moving to such places and parties, So...it really took me time to get set. " Gladys answered.

" Come with me . There's still something to enjoy . " Jenny spoke and went with Gladys.

May was just in living room of the Mansion when Calcel caught up with her and grabbed her hand making her turn to look at him.

Her eyes were already red and wet and she was fuming in anger.

" What now ? " She yelled angrily.

" May...Don't take this in the wrong way. What just happened was an accident. " He spoke to calm her down.

" An accident...? " She asked not believing this.

Calcel looked at her in whammy.

",You kissed a maid before everyone. Do you know how embrassing that was...? " She asked.

" I know and I am so sorry. It was just...accidental...it just happened. It's not I intended to...May...i am sorry. " He said as he knew that she was angry.

",What were you doing with her in the first place ? ",She rushed out.

" I just bumped into her and she was going to fall badly . i was just trying to save her. " He said which was true.

" Calcel...I want to understand that but I can't. If you are really sorry...then...I don't want to see that Marvis in this mansion again.." May declared.

Now Calcel got confused. Wasn't he clear that everything happened by accident ?

" May...I can't do that. " He answered.

Now May cried and said. " You see ? Then I don't believe that it was accidental.." She shouted.

" May calm down. I can't make her leave because it's not me who brought her here. " He said.

" You can ! If you don't then I will do it myself. " She cried.

Calcel had been talking politely but now he raised his voice at her.

" What's the insecurity for May ? " He asked in a loud tone.

" The insecurity...? " She yelled back. " It's that girl ! I don't want you to be with her. Calcel I have been trying to be a good wife to you even when Alyssa was there. When I found out about both you, I stayed. And when she died...I still stayed. " She said these angrily and then lowered her voice in tears.

" I have tried everything Calcel, But I don't know why I continue feeling that I am not good enough for you. " She sobbed slowly.

Calcel heard her words which were somehow true but then he said another side of the story too.

" So...you think that you are the only one who has tried ? " He asked slowly as his eyes begun releasing tears too.

May looked to listen to what he had to stay.

" Yeah, I accept. I might have been a bad husband earlier and i did many things that hurt you..But May... recently I have also been trying to be a good husband. I have tried to show you love, care , truth and all I could to show that I changed that you are the only woman that matters in life right now. " He said these solemnly.

" But unfortunately...Right now...you have just shown that I am not good enough for you. " Calcel declared and after this he walked away.

He used the same words that May had also just used but then they were both right in their own way.

Calcel walked away disappointed. It looked like everything he had been doing for May meant nothing to her. May also felt the same towards him.

May thought he would turn back to her but he didn't. She cried and went to her room.

Calcel walked to the back yard of the Mansion and sat there on one of the wooden seats in the greens.

Cynthia had a bad feeling on what had happened and she knew her daughter very well so when Calcel had followed she followed behind and when she entered the Mansion she saw Calcel walking away and May going to the bedroom.

She sighed and decided to go to May's room and when she reached there May was throwing away each and everything that was close to her.

" May...stop it ! " Cynthia said and when May saw her she came and hugged her.

" Mother ? " She called in tears.

" Calm down first ! " Cythia said caressing her hair and allowed her to cry her tears out.

When Calcel sat down he remembered what just happened. Him accidentally kissing Marvis ( Alyssa )

He was surprised because the simple kiss brought back the feeling of love he had not been feeling while he was with May. He touched his lips in wonder as he thought about it.

' Marvis, What the hell....'

He cursed and was still like this when he saw Alyssa rushing to the back door.

After managing to leave the crowd she walked around the mansion so that she could use the back door to go to her room. She wouldn't dare to use the same direction that Calcal had used.

But see how she meets him again right here. She saw him and first stopped wondering if she must go back or walk past him.

Calcel got up after setting his mind to go and talk to May when his eyes landed on Alyssa.
