As May becomes a teenager, she enters the world of love, lust, and drama. 16 year old Mavis (May) Stallworth has always been the reckless type. With her parents out of town on work more and more often, they decide to get her a babysitter. Out of spite, she flirts with the nanny nonstop, trying to deter her from sticking around. As time goes on, these hopeless interactions become more and more intimate…and true. However, her sitter wants absolutely no interest in May's personal life, and more importantly, her romantic one. Of course, these rejections only make May more determined to woo the 'babysitter'. Can Mavis convince her sitter that her feelings are genuine, or will she fall deeper and deeper into her pit of misbehavior?

Chapter 1Party Time

"Mavis! Get down here now."

I heard my mom yelling for me from the doorway. I got up off of my bed and sprinted down the long hallway to the stairs. Smirking, I slid down the bannister rather than rushing down the countless stairs leading down to the door.

"Hey, Mom. Lemme guess, you're leaving on another 'business trip'."

I did air quotes with my fingers and smirked, knowing it would annoy her, counting on it actually.

"Yes. I am and so is your father." My dad walked into the room carrying two large suitcases and a duffel bag. He was dressed in one of his best suits, same as my mom.

"Sweet, so I'll have this whole place to myself...again?" I bit my lip in anticipation as I rose my eyebrow to my parents.

"Yes." My mother said reluctantly with a sigh.

"No parties, limit of three friends over in a week, and we'll be monitoring your phone." My dad added.

I rolled my eyes and pulled my phone out of the back pocket of my jean shorts, waving it at them before slipping it back into the pocket. "Got it."

"We'll only be gone for nine days. See you then." Dad walked up to me and kissed me on the forehead. "Love you, sweetie."

"Love you too, Dad." I smiled at him kindly then waited for my mother to tell me goodbye.

"See you in a few days, Mavis." I scoffed. I hated when she called me that.

She turned around and headed out the door, stopping and anxiously tapping her foot outside, waiting for Dad to bring out the luggage.

He turned around and looked at me one more time with a smile, and I returned it before he left, closing the door behind him.

I pivoted on my heel and grabbed my phone again. I scrolled through my contacts and lifted the phone to my ear.

"Hey Chris. Having a party tomorrow night, tell your friends."

Chris was the, how do I say, gossiper of the school. I knew he would speedily pass on the news.

"Lana, hi." I dialed my best friend after hanging up on Chris.

"Come over tonight, I need your help." I smirked, already feeling butterflies in anticipation of the upcoming party. Why was I throwing this party? Why the hell not? It would piss off my mom, my dad would instantly forgive me, I get to have fun, everyone coming gets to have fun, it's a win / win all around.

"Hey baby!"

"What's up, lady?" I hugged Lana as soon as she came through the door.

"Not much, you?"

"Parent's are outta town for a week. I'm throwing another party. I need your help. Please, I am begging you." I spoke in a monotone voice as I watched a mischievous smile tug at the edges of Lana's lips.

"So, will y-"

"Absolutely." She walked past me and hung her purse on the edge of the banister before leading me upstairs to my bedroom. We sat at my desk where she pulled out a piece of paper and a pen to make a list with.

"So, let's see, we'll need balloons, party favors..."

We spent the entire night planning an extremely epic, totally tubular, costume party, only to wake in the early afternoon, surrounded by nothing but a mess. There were crumbled papers all around my desk, blankets were scattered throughout the room, and the biggest problem of all, we looked like complete disasters.

I stood up and examined the room before my eyes found Lana's.

"Let's do this."

-

A few hours later, we were both dressed in matching outfits: all white latex dresses, white fishnets, scarlet pumps, and platinum blonde voluminous wigs styled identical to Marylin Monroe's hair. Our lips were traced in bright red lipstick, our cheeks were completely covered in neutral-toned glitter, and we sported several shiny accessories that glistened in the light of the scenery.

As people - familiar and not - came pouring through my front door, Lana and I greeted them, handing everyone slim white balloons before they began roaming the house.

"What's poppin' ladies?!" I sighed as Chris obnoxiously waltzed through the threshold.

"You seriously need to drop that line. Like, soon. Immediately. Never use it again. Burn-"

"Okay, I get it." I grinned when he cut me off.

"You look very...voluptuous tonight." He leaned back traced a nonexistent physique in the air with his hands, winking at Lana as he lowered them.

"Give me a tour?" He held his arm out for Lana to hold onto. She looked over at me and rolled her eyes. I knew that she was actually happy, no matter how hard she tried to hide it. She an Chris have been on-again-off-again lovers for the longest time, but no matter how many times I've warned her about him, she can't seem to let him go. 'The heart wants what it wants' and all that shit.

I stuck by the door as I watched Lana smack Chris's arm away and gleefully walk into the party with him. My eyes were pulled from their silhouettes when more people entered the door.

After so many (what felt like) weeks of greeting my guests, I pulled myself from the entrance. I strutted through the crowd in the living room, right back to the bay window where a DJ was set up with speakers, his own small stage, and a mic.

"Excuse me." I stepped up to the stage and swiped the microphone off of the counter. "This thing on?" I meant to only ask the DJ, but instead, high pitched feedback echoed throughout the high ceilings of the art deco room.

"Hey guys. Thank you all for coming." I cleared my throat and took a few paces towards the front of the stage. "I was just at the door, lots of you probably saw me when you came in. Anyway, this looked like so much more fun, so I figured, fuck it, and here I am." I opened my arms and grinned at the large crowd of strangers piled up in the room.

"So, there is alcohol in this cabinet over here," I pointed at a large desk along the wall, "more beverages on top of it. Make sure to post lots of pics on your social! ... What are you waiting for? Knock yourselves out! Woo!"

I handed the mic back to the DJ who honestly seemed kind of pissed at me.

"You can have some of the alcohol too." I patted him on the shoulder and left the stage, blending into the cheering crowd.

"Girl!" I felt Lana's hands on my shoulders. She was shouting over the music, and even though she was right beside my ear, I could still barely hear her. "Your parents are going to shit themselves when they see this!"

"I seriously hope so."
