Seals and Divinity

Magnolia, Kingdom of Fiore, inside the east forest was Lucius who decided to check something. He was back from where he was found by Gildarts, yesterday.

"There's no magic presence or any space disturbance..." Lucius muttered, from what he knows, every time space-related magic such as teleportation was used, there will be space disturbance and it'll last for a few days before all its presence completely disappear.

But in the spot where he was found, there was no such presence that further confused him. If there was no space disturbance, how could he get transported in this world? This was a completely different world from his past world which would at least take great space magic to transport him here.

"This is a problem, I've got no clue what caused my transportation here. And there's also another problem."

Lucius tried to flare up his demonic energy to the fullest extent but it looks like it was 'shackled' by something as the amount he can release and use was reduced greatly.

"Someone put some kind of seal to my demonic power to shackle it. Now I can only use about 1/4 of my original demonic power." He gritted his teeth just remembering this problem.

He discovered it last night after going into his room which was designated to him. He tried to use his demonic power then but noticed how he can't fully unleash all of it. That's when he noticed some seals shackling his demonic power.

"With this amount, my strength is limited. I also need to either train or find a way to unshackle the seals." Just thinking about it, he clenched his fist. He subconsciously flared up his demonic power and some power of destruction was released, disintegrating the trees in a 20-meter radius around him.

"Just wait for me you bastard, I'll find you and I'll destroy you. Because of these seals, my chances of finding a way back will be lengthened."

Luckily, there was one clue to whoever put seals on his demonic power. From the seals, he felt a type of power and presence, he was familiar with.

It was divinity which pointed to the existence of gods. As a great noble from the devil race, Lucius had the chance of meeting and interacting with the gods of his world. Which was why he immediately recognize the presence left in the seals.

Lucius then contemplated deeply before sighing, "But gods huh, if I had my full strength, I could probably pose a fight but now? I will be killed instantly, and I don't know if the gods here are stronger or what type they are. Fortunately, it looks like they can't interfere personally in the mortal world otherwise I would've heard the existence of them by now. But how did they put seals on me like this, maybe as I was about to enter this world?"

"No matter the case, I need to regain back my strength and exceed it to get higher chances of finding a way back home. Looks like I can only train once again to increase my demonic power while finding some way to release the seals."

He still felt regretful though since it will probably take him years to gain his strength back. Back in the underworld, Lucius was called a prodigy who could surpass his brother, Sirzechs.

There was a reason why he was called that, it was because his demonic power was so great that it even surpassed Sirzechs's, a super devil. He also had great control over it along with his power of destruction. His only problem was time and experience.

Compared to his brother who trained for centuries, Lucius was only training for about 2 decades. Although he did have battle experiences, compared to Sirzechs's control and mastery over their bloodline power, there was still a great gap between them due to the latter's centuries of experience and training. But as mentioned, he only needs more time and he'll catch up quickly.

Back in his world, he was someone who already surpassed Satan-class and reach the stage where most gods stood. And that only took him 2 decades of hard training which compared to devils' lifespan, was short.

....

" I guess I should start training my body to further increase my demonic energy. Then train my power of destruction." Lucius said he was now on his way back towards the guild.

He was thinking of his training plan, in the past, he didn't really need to train much to increase his demonic energy.

Instead, he was focused on training his control over his demonic energy and training his PoD. But he did know some methods of increasing demonic energy as he had a cousin who was born with low amounts of it.

He learned some training methods such as physical training. With years of physical training, one can gradually increase his/her demonic power.

"Then I'll focus on that and PoD. Though before that, I need to do something first."

After getting back to the guild, Lucius went towards the quest board and browse for some quest to earn money.

[Subjugate 5 wolf-type magic beasts in a nearby town.

Reward: 20,000 jewels]

[Subjugate a group of wyverns in Maple City.

Reward: 1,000,000 jewels]

Lucius read many of them but few caught his interest. In the end, he picked the one with the wolf-type magic beasts as his strength is limited for now.

Although he was interested in the wyverns too, with his current strength, it could prove fatal. From his knowledge of wyverns from his world, they should have some kind of relation to dragons and dragons are apex creatures.

Even in his world, the two strongest beings were dragons. And then there's also another two who wreaked havoc in the great war and it needed for 3 factions to ally and beat the two dragons. Those examples just prove to show how absurd, dragons are and something related to them can't be anything weak.

After deciding on a quest, Lucius jumped and grabbed the quest poster. He then walked to the bar and handed it to Makarov.

"I'd like to take this quest."

"Hm? Isn't it too early for you to go on a subjugation quest like this?" Makarov raised an eyebrow and stared at Lucius.

"...I can do it, if you're still not convinced, I can demonstrate my strength," Lucius said

"Very well, let's at the back of the guild building." Makarov nodded and got off the bar. He then started walking towards the door at the side of the guild hall leading to the back.

Lucius closely followed Makarov and the two arrived at a wide field.

"What type of magic can you use?"

"I can use Fire magic" Lucius lied and only mentioned the magic he showed to Gildarts. In fact, he could use almost everything as he only need the imagination to use magic due to his demonic energy.

"Hm..." Makarov nodded and just signals for Lucius to show his ability.

Lucius took a deep breath and then stretched out his right hand. Then with a bit of imagination, the Gremory Clan magic circle appeared 5 meters ahead of them and a 10-meter tall fire tornado appeared.

It didn't move and stayed in the place. Then Lucius willed it to move and it moved while leaving a fiery trail.

Makarov was impressed, "Excellent, with that ability, you should be able to complete the quest."

"Thank you," Lucius smiled as his quest was finally approved.

Soon after getting permission from Makarov, Lucius left Magnolia after getting a map. He then followed the map leading to the location of his quests.

Lucius only walked out of the town and when he arrived in the forest, he unfurled his devil wings and flew to his destination. It took him some time to get the village that issued the quest.

Arriving at the village, Lucius slowly flew down and landed. His sudden arrival attracted the attention of the residents and carefully approached him.

"I'm a mage from fairy tail, I was the one who accepted the quest you issued. Can I meet the village head?" Lucius asked

Before his departure, Makarov already taught him how to act in front of clients. And he also has experience in diplomacy since he managed some territory in the human world back in his world.

After hearing Lucius, the village residents heaved a sigh of relief. And a middle-aged man stood out in front of Lucius.

"I'm the village head, please to meet you." The middle-aged man said. He didn't underestimate Lucius after seeing he looked like a kid. That's because there are strong kid mages.

"Would you please tell me where those pack of wolves are? And please explain the details." Lucius didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point.

"Yes, the wolves attack at night. It's been 3 days after the initial attack and 2 residents have been killed. As for their location, we saw them dragging the corpses of those killed in the direction of that mountain." The village head pointed in the direction of a nearby mountain.

"Understood, please wait for the news. I'll go now!" Lucius nodded and unfurled his wings again and flew towards the mountain.

Below the mountain, a thick forest surrounded it which obscure his vision but that didn't hinder him as he can detect the magic presence of magic beasts.

He did hunt something similar in the underworld, the demonic beasts. The only difference between the two would be the energy they used.

After a few minutes of flying, Lucius finally felt 15 presence below him. He then flew down and landed in front of the place. The place where he felt the presences were a cave opening in the side of the mountain.

"This should be the place..." Lucius slowly walked inside and just a few seconds after entering, a figure lunged at him.

He unhurriedly used PoD and obliterated the magic beast. Following the initial attack, several wolves attacked him.

Lucius just created several balls of compressed PoD and launched them to the wolves which easily obliterated them. After he took care of those who attacked him, he still felt four presence ahead.

Lucius decided to check it out and walked further in where he saw 4 wolf pups. He once again just obliterated the pups with a blast of PoD.

"Whew! With that, my job is done." He muttered

With the job done, Lucius just used teleportation to go back to the eastern forest near Magnolia after which he walked the rest of the way towards the guild.

He then reported the completion of the quest.

"Hm, we'll need to wait for the confirmation and you can get the reward." Makarov said

"Yes!" Lucius didn't question it as he knew there should be procedures first before getting the pay for a quest.

It's to prevent someone from getting the reward when the job wasn't completed.

With nothing much to do, Lucius once again got out of the guild and decided to train.
