Chapter 5

It's been about 8 years since everything happened in the primaries. Ethan grew up like a beautiful omega and Yuri like a handsome alpha. Both remained friends and studied high school together, although after finishing it they separated shortly as each one studied on their own for the admission exam that they ended up passing. They would soon start university, of course, after taking some medical exams a couple of weeks before so that the university itself would be aware of their subgender and periods of heat.

Ethan became more shy and still struggled to be accepted by others. Yuri was going through almost the same thing, being compared to Aleksandr as always. Even though he was their eldest by a year, to everyone, Aleksandr was always the best at everything and his brother was the worst for being absent-minded and somewhat irresponsible. No matter how hard he tried at something, the teachers always told him, 'Your brother would do it better' and that only sapped his desire to study and learn about the family business.

What good would it do you? Yes, once Aleksandr reaches the necessary age, he will take his father's position, being the head of one of the best companies in the world.

At least I would be with Ethan. He let out a sigh, his smile gives him such peace of mind. Years had passed since he met him and his smile remained etched in his mind, he had to admit that he had fallen in love with the omega and wished he could be his alpha, he wished to protect him even from himself.

I just hoped that he didn't know his older brother, it wasn't because he was bad but because many omegas always fell in love with their brother. Aleksandr did not pay the slightest attention to them since he was completely 'secretly' in love with Itzel, but he did not want to risk his brother meeting Ethan, seeing his smile, his beautiful eyes and his beautiful face.

Yuri's POV

In a week I would start university with Ethan, in different faculties of course. I hadn't told my dad or my brother about it, for some reason I decided to keep it to myself.

My older brother had returned from a trip he took alone to visit Itzel, they are not a couple, but Aleksandr is very jealous of him and wanted Itzel to reciprocate his feelings.

They knocked on the door of my room.

"Yes?" Maybe it was some maid.

"Hi, Smurfette. Did you miss me?" Aleksandr was standing in the doorway with a small sideways smile.

"Is that the way to greet your brother who you haven't seen for two years? I am very moved by your emotion when you see me, so much so that I could cry..." I said in a hurt way, dramatic as always, that is something we share. Even though I am constantly compared to him, we are still brothers and I can't hate him. I got out of bed very quickly and hugged him.

“I missed you,” he told me.

"But you only left for two years. Do you love me that much? Will you die without me?" I said like a princess in love.

"Of course, I was about to die for not being by your side and that's why I came back." He played along. Many said that he is very serious, maybe he is with others, but with me he is not. "You're my brother, we grew up together, it's obvious that I miss you."

"I say the same"

"Well, I wanted to let you know that it's time for dinner and father wants you to come down."

"Yes, I'm coming now." We went down to the living room together and sat at the large table next to our father who had not yet started to eat.

"Hello, dad," I greeted, he was looking at us as if he were upset. "What's happening?"

"Nothing, they just look too similar."

"Oh no! How disgusting!" we said jokingly. Our father laughed.

"Leaving the jokes. Sasha, tell us how was your trip? How was your time with Itzel?" Even my dad was curious about what he did with Itzel, he knew he wasn't the only one.

"We were watching movies or going out to parks and museums." And I thought they even had something. "Yuri, I am going to study with you just like Itzel."

"That? Actually? Did he come back to you?"

"Yes, we will be at the same university, only he will be at another faculty."

"I'm very happy, brother." The truth is, I wasn't as happy as I would like. The past years were great because I was able to stand out, even a little bit, from the ideals they have about me, I was able to show that I will not be the same as my brother because we are both not the same; but now, he will return and the situations from before too. We finished eating and I went directly to my room, to lock myself in.

"I know how much it hurts to be compared to someone else, but if there is someone who loves you and values you for who you are, even if you are yourself, the rest doesn't matter."

I remembered what Ethan once told me, if he heard how I felt he would scold me. Unconsciously I smiled in love. I couldn't help but laugh, I was definitely so lost for him. I would like to declare myself, but I know that Ethan doesn't feel the same way about me, so I will only settle for their friendship. That didn't mean he would let just anyone be his alpha. No. That alpha will have to prove that he is worthy of Ethan and that he will not hurt him, otherwise I myself would break all his bones along with Mr. Michael Smith.
