Paperwork and Chakra

With a good night's rest, Masashi woke up at six in the morning. He didn't feel like trying to grind out some volumes going into the early morning only to sleep in till 1 pm.

A fresh start is what he plans for.

Before that, however, he needs to get the proper paperwork in order. He must trademark his logos and series so others can't claim it as their own.

While the shinobi world is advancing technologically, this is still nothing like the information age his old life was from.

This is going to take all day. That's fine since he could just make volumes in the meantime.

He sits up and begins to get ready.

Masashi walks to the closet and puts his flak jacket on heading out of his bedroom into the living room, which also doubles as a kitchen since there's no wall or room separating both areas. He walks to his right into the bathroom and does his necessary business and daily hygiene.

He enters the kitchen heating up some cup ramen which takes a few minutes. He checks yesterday's paper: Konoha Weekly. There really isn't much going on except for announcing the next school year at the academy and a new movie that'll be released next year. There were some other things like minor discoveries in various scholarly fields and restaurants promoting seasonal or promotional items.

It's a nice way to pass the mornings as food is cooking other than TV.

As the ramen is done he sits on the couch while using the remote to turn on the television. It's surprisingly advanced as there are shows. Cartoons, and movies playing. The technological boom is quite something.

Masashi turns on the news and a woman is shown at a desk.

"Good morning, Konoha! I am Tatsuha Hachibana, here with you for your morning news. Today in the entertainment world, the comic BakuBaku has just been put on hiatus by All-Star Productions as series creator, Tokura Amurashi, told reporters that he will be taking time off as his health has been declining the last few months. We hope he—"

He switches channels to a cartoon as Masashi continues to eat.

After a while, the cup was finished and he threw it in the trash returning to the couch. Summoning the computer, Masashi gets to work on Demon Slayer and his company's logo.

Creating the logo for Demon Slayer is easy as I could use Illustrative Creation to just "print" them out but I also must create the company logo.

Masashi thinks for a bit and realizes he doesn't even know what to name his business.

'What should I name it? I know that it should at least have "Entertainment" in it to pay homage to my system and that I'll have a lot of differing works for customers to consume.' He pondered as Masashi thought of what could come before the word, "Entertainment".

He immediately knew of the color scheme: The same blueish purple from his status screens and computer. Masashi also kept thinking of his earlier thought of how many types of content he was going to make.

Ah.

Myriad Entertainment.

Masashi could also have a logo with, ME and do some work around that.

Five Black stars with a white line connecting all of them in a circular formation with the same blueish-purple cosmic design with the letters: ME.

He also made another simpler design: Myriad Entertainment in the same color scheme.

Soon after, he printed them out and started working on his first volume.

Masashi was glad that this was his first manga as he collected all the volumes before he got all of Naruto. I mean compare twenty-plus volumes to over seventy.

The volume is around 200 pages and ends on a cliffhanger so that should be engaging. I also polished up and added more detail that simply wasn't possible at the time. A lot of people dogged on the quality of the manga so he plans on correcting that as much as possible while keeping the original intent.

After around 10 minutes, five if he kept to the original, he finished his first volume. Taking a look through, he smiles in excitement at the quality. The back and spine were obviously changed to his own markings and logos along with the 1000ryo price.

He decides to check his Status before heading out.

'...This damn system.' His eye slightly twitched as the description of the store changed. 'Unless it was some sort of introductory and this is what it normally would say.' Masashi remembers when he first unlocked it last night being a different explanation.

It also seems that more stores would cost more which is fine for now since he only needs one to get things started.

Time to head out now. Grabbing his keys, a spare folder he had lying around in his closet to store his work, and his wallet heading for the door. Putting on his classic shinobi black sandals, he is out the door.

He is on the third floor and while he could just use his shinobi skills to quickly scale down the building, Masashi decides to take things slow and take everything in.

The village, if it can even be called that, is massive. After the Pain attack, the village had a crater in the middle of Konoha but that didn't stop city planners and now there is some verticality to the design.

Though this area is typically within the City Center. I'd have to go all the way to the Hokage Rock to the Civil Affairs Office which was coincidentally within the Hokage Tower.

After a long walk seeing the impressive village turned city, he made it to the tower.

Luckily, where he needed to go was on the first floor. It was early enough in the morning that the front desk only had a couple of people in line so after a handful of minutes it was his turn.

The lady was blonde and had brown hair while she sat down in front of a computer, but one of those CRT-type computers. Technology hasn't advanced that fast after all. She had a name tag: Tadeki Kiyomi

"Hi, how can I help you this morning?" She asked in a way that one would expect from someone who often deals in customer service work. Masashi always hated it but could do nothing about it with his lacking aptitude in shinobi arts. Now he has a system that forces him to be a salesman. How ironic.

"Yes, I'm here to apply for a business license and apply for copyright and trademarks." He cuts straight to the point and hands over the necessary documentation including his shinobi ID.

"Awesome, let's start with the license," She starts clicking and typing away on the computer, "what's the name of your company and operation type?"

"Myriad Entertainment and within the Land of Fire". He answers and she continues to type.

"What kind of service or products does your company deal in?" She asks once more.

"Entertainment products of all kinds. " Masashi decides to be vague as he couldn't explain how he is simultaneously making games, comic books, anime or cartoons as they'd say, and movies.

She raises her eyebrow but decides not to push and types it in.

"Alright Masashi-san, let's move on to your request for trademarks and copyright protection." She takes a look at the folder and her eyes widen at the sheer beauty of Masashi's color scheme.

She takes out everything and a lingering pause on the manga before leaving it for last. Moving to the copier near the back, she needs to have her own copy for records and have the other workers check to make sure there's nothing similar in the system.

Finally, everything is said and done apart from the manga.

"Is this what you want copyrighted?" She examines the book front to back as she reads the summary. "Ah, a story then?"

Masashi nods and she hands everything back to him.

"Alright, the business license, copyright, and trademarks together come to a total of 20,000ryo. Cash or card?" She explains and Masashi pays with card. "Your license should be ready by the end of the day. Please come back and pick it up."

"Thank you." Masashi grabs everything and heads out.

Kiyomi however was thinking back to that comic book she saw. There isn't a whole lot of excitement in her job so she tries to search for anything that can fill that boredom.

'Myriad Entertainment? He didn't disclose a business location so perhaps he will utilize the Open Market. Maybe I can get one. 1,000ryo isn't much for a book.' Her thoughts fade and hopes to find the young man again.

Masashi was walking back and decided to head home to start banging out more volumes to sell tomorrow at the Open Market. He has enough savings to rent a space. A week would be 250,000ryo but being a new business owner has a 5% discount, so that's nice.

He heads inside and pulls out his computer to get to work.

After creating 10 volumes he realizes that his chakra reserves are going down which surprises him.

'I suppose I should've known I couldn't infinitely create things out of thin air." Masashi gets to thinking.

He will likely have to continue his training and he knows a perfect way. As long as he keeps using his chakra and gets it to near exhaustion it will grow.

His chakra reserves weren't bad but not great either, so long as he exhausts himself every day while creating volumes, his reserves will get larger. He wasn't able to do this type of training because of his work, but now that he doesn't need to, he can put his all into training and creating.

Hours went by and he had already picked up his license at 5 pm. He had been creating for nearly 10 hours and he finally had to stop. It must not take up too much chakra otherwise Masashi had to stop long ago.

He made 60 volumes. That was pretty pitiful.

Masashi decided to train physically now as chakra was made up of both physical and spiritual energies. He could meditate for the spiritual aspect.

Heading out, he went to one of the many training grounds and got to work with taijutsu as he had literally spent most of his chakra already.

When it was 10 pm he decided to call it a day and went back home.

After eating, he took everything off and lay in bed.

'Tomorrow will be a huge day. I will buy a space at the Open Market and begin selling my manga. I will have to create some artistic flair like banners and perhaps little drawings of one of the characters like a card pack. I know that there is already a card series in this world. Perhaps I could do something like that for each series? So many ideas.' Masashi's brain is working in overdrive to find different ways to sell his manga.

Tomorrow is a big day and Masashi never could have guessed who he would've sold his first manga to.

I apologize for the large gap in updates. A lot of stuff happened in my life that didn't allow me to sit down and write. Things are better now, so I'll be working on updating more.
