Chapter 44

POV: Bash 

Location: Southern Empire

I could see the whole town from the top of the hill I was sitting, Devilton, what a weird name for a town holding the remnants of the falling heroes, or scumbags.

My back was pressed against a cherry tree, the wind blowing softly with the pink leaves of the tree dancing in the air. 

One of the leaves fell on my black hair and I scrubbed my hand through the hair, combing it backward. The Shinzin Ritta was resting beside me, its handle tilted against the cherry tree wrapped in thread, the red thread swimming in the calm breeze.

The blinding sun shined its light over me, it was noon and I just finished my early morning training. Testing out the strengths of the Shinzin Ritta was the right choice, with it I think I have a chance against the gatekeeper, the devil guarding the vermilion gate, the border between the Southern Empire and the Northern Empire.
