Chapter 277

''It seems like we have an unwelcome guest.''

Of course Samuel, who had long since returned to the Dog Of War compound, felt the intruder. But he remained on the large throne in the Headquarter with an uncaring smile.

''It seems like we get to test out our defences now.'' Samuel said with a smirk.

No one has dared to try and break into the Dog of War compound before, it will be interesting to see how it goes for him.

With curiosity in his eyes Samuel emitted his Soul to spread outwards, encasing the traversing Joshua without his knowledge.

At the same time Joshua was flying through the air with an arrogant expression.

''As expected from an organisation relying on one strong leader. This defence is no match compared to me!''

Joshua mocked as he flew unimpeded towards the main headquarters.

But how could he know that all the Dogs of War were told not to stop him by SS1, who was currently in charge of the Organisation.

Quickly Joshua arrived at the Headquarters. He barged in the door as he manipulated the ugly puppet to blast away the two High Rank 1 Guards.

''Strange, even a Rank F Organisation would have better defence than this right?''

Joshua slowly realised that something was strange. With the exception of the warriors at the door he met no opposition.

But suddenly his arrogance clouded his vision, especially when he heard some carefully placed words instructed by Samuel.

As Joshua was walking down the hall, a Low Rank 1 Dog of War Maid was whispering to another maid.

''Have you heard? When the Head heard that Lily was injured he immediately took all the warriors to the Eternal Battlefield to find a cure!''

''Really? What if something happens to them?''

'''Well we just have to pray that they will be ok. Now hurry up we can't have any messes waiting for when they come back.''

Joshua saw the ants hurry away and sneered violently.

''I didn't expect the head to act. But it seems like it's my responsibility to teach you the consequences of your actions.''

Although Joshua wasn't afraid of SS1, whose talent was only comparable to one of his weaker Sock Puppets, it would definitely be troublesome if he was surrounded by a large number of warriors.

But now they are gone, he has no worries!

Quickly Joshua ran forward and interrogated one of the Dogs of War Maids that ran to do work.

''So the treasury is down here?''

Joshua smirked, staring down the long passageway.

He wanted to loot the treasury and rebuild his Sock Puppets before SS1 returned. Then it couldn't be easier to occupy it.

''Lets go.''

Joshua muttered and began down the steps.

''Halt! No entry allowed.''

Slowly Joshua reached the first gate below. Two Dogs of War readied their long spears, but their High Rank 1 Strength wasn't enough to stop Joshua.

With one smack they where both knocked unconscious, only their Pseudo-Artifact armour stopped them from dying.

''Now, let's see what's in here?''

Joshua pushed open the door. His mortal body was sweating slightly.

But soon it was open and Joshua began to walk in with a happy smile.

However, that quickly changed.

''What is this place?''

Joshua felt his feet touch a hard mud floor rather than the stone he was expecting. The piles of treasures he was expecting to see didn't exist.

Instead he saw a deep mist permeating around a gloomy environment. Hundreds of metres away a large alter was placed on a small hill.

''Is this a treasure?''

Joshua's greedy eyes lit up, his fat stomach bouncing up and down with excitement.

''No! Somethings wrong!''

Suddenly Joshua perceived something through his puppet. Quickly his ontology ran back while the puppet spread out his spiritual energy.

''Hisssss''

''Invaders will be killed!''

''Slay the enemy!''

With the influx of Spiritual Energy, Joshua was horrified to see that hundreds of figures were expelled from the mist around him.

And the number was ever increasing.

100…

1,000…

40,000…

100,000…

The number was just ever rising!

Slowly these strange Spiritual Creatures began to sprint towards Joshua. Surprisingly some marched in a military formation, their soul armour the same as the renowned IronBlood Legions.

While others just ran frantically towards him.

''What the hell are these? Die you creepy things!''

Joshua shouted in anger, the puppet slapping out disintegrating hundreds of Spiritual Dogs of War.

But more came constantly.

And even more terrifying, Joshua saw that the destroyed Spirits actually recovered after a brief moment!

''Crazy!''

Joshua shouted, stumbling over the floor.

The puppet in front of him released attack after attack. Occasionally a grey light would flash in his eyes and a sharp beam would evaporate thousands of the Spirits.

But they weren't weak. No, each one was incredibly talented in fighting! They moved flexibly and skillfully using moves from countless ancient Mortal Martial Arts.

Although they couldn't harm the Puppet, it wasn't easy to beat them. Slowly Joshua felt the Spiritual Energy within the Puppets body was running out.

''Run!''

He was determined.

Quickly the puppet picked him up and fled outside of the room. Not stopping until he exited the backdoor of the headquarters.

''Who would've thought that the Dogs of War hid such a secret! As soon as I rebuild my SockPuppets I'll be back!''

Just as quickly as it began, Joshua gave up.

''Huh? Why is this tree so big?''

However it was never easy to leave the Dogs of War Compound.

Joshua's eyes looked up, only to see a tree hundreds of metres tall towering over everything!

Its lush and beautiful leaves seemed to hide the giant trunk from view.

But Joshua didn't have time to admire the beauty of the tree, suddenly he saw multiple small figures floating down.

''What the heck?''

''Ah son of a…!''

Joshua didn't even have time to scream. From behind his ontology, a small pixie with a single ferocious wing and a spiked horn had a hand dripping with blood.

Clenched in his palm was a still beating heart. Joshua's heart.

''Bah you disappointed me. I was expecting something better from the Citadels head!''

Those were the last words that Joshua ever heard.

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
