Distress Call

Adam meets his old university crush in a high-end restaurant and discovers her doing something unimaginable; trying to jump off the building. He manages to take her home and tie her down, in case she tries to do it again. However, when she wakes up, he discovers she was much different than the person she was while they were in university. Filled with renewed hope, he pursues her again and this time, he won't take no for an answer. Enter a serial killer into the equation, you know there's going to be drama. Warning; lots of angst and psychological elements but is still a refreshing read. There are also elements of capture so if you're sensitive to that, don't read too much meaning into it. Hope you enjoy it

Prologue

The first time he noticed her was during a particularly boring history class. It was a compulsory elective for liberal arts students but it didn't mean it wasn't dreadfully boring. He sighed for the umpteenth time, letting his eyes wander the class. It was then he saw her.

Like him, she was also slumped over the desk with a bored and faraway look in her eyes. He had seen her a couple of times before but only out of the corner of his eyes. Voted one of the most beautiful girls in their department, she was really a sight to see.

Ever since watching her in that classroom, he started to notice her everywhere else; the library, the cafeteria, the cafe just outside of school, and even around the dormitories. He had the narcissistic thoughts that she was tailing him around so he started to pay more attention, intrigued.

What he soon found out was that, even though he saw her around much often, she had never once glanced in his direction or in anyone else's for that matter. They were in the same faculty so it was inevitable that they would see each other around but that was all.

She was always alone and the only times she interacted with others was when they had assignments or group projects. The only person she spoke to was her course representative and only for official things. Everyone else, she politely declined or ignored.

He didn't notice it but his interest in her grew. He started to watch her and noticed all her little habits. Just the thought of seeing her made him giddy like a schoolboy. He built up his confidence to go talk to her only to be rejected by her cold lifeless glare. He persisted but was completely ignored and even avoided. His heart broke.

They finally graduated from school and he went to take over his family's business. He never expected the next place he would see her was atop the roof of a fancy restaurant, trying to jump down.

I hope you'll stick along for the ride in this story and enjoy the development. It is my firstborn of 2021 after all
