58 Compatible Genes

When the cold beauty arrived – whose name, I learned, was Karl – I thought I would have another meat shield for later.

He was already, in truth, relatively tenacious, and that is without my aid, minus the fact I had inadvertently saved his life that one time.

I wished that Cehn could be used, but that was an absolute bust.

He was after all in A level, they would be on higher tier islands and therefore would be too far when I need them.

Wincu is the only useful one I can think of now and possibly this cold beauty, but either way time was nevertheless plenty.

"We have two years remaining."

Sigh, this cold beauty is not all that smart it seems, even if his IQ was among the elite students, I think the system was broken and placed him in the wrong rank.

Patiently, I opened my mouth and spoke.

"We are Land dwellers, while we breathe air, use gravity manipulation to fly, walk and numerous inventions to travel, that is excellent for us.

In the water we can not breathe, we can not walk but swim, it is not something we practice everyday like how we walk and run. Our communication will also be difficult because the sound waves we produce on land to speak cannot be heard in the water and even then many other factors will come into play, for example, the pressure from the water is different from the gravity we are used to everyday."

"So then how do we compensate for that?"

"Mmm ... Train in the water from now. Research all available material provided in the school library. It may not be enough but still feasible."

"Very well then."

Karl nodded and reluctantly walked towards the exit. "Student Wong. A moment please. Take this… swallow it and store these three for-"

"Master!"

"Wincu! Be silent!"

Saying those words, I did not bother to turn my gaze to Wincu but kept it on the cold beauty. He took the first vial and drank it, then placed the remainder given inside of his storage.

"Please, walk down the hall second door enter and lay on the bed."

I wanted to chuckle at his look for a few seconds, that normal aloof look, disappeared before being replaced almost immediately.

"Wincu lead him, I have some research to finish."

"Yes, Master Wu."

Returning to my seat, I sat reopening the screens and swapping ingredients; I questioned the system,

"System, what is the chance of his survival?"

<50% >

"Mmm," I replied, then looking at the aggrieved Wincu I thought to myself that perhaps in the new school I should strive for my own home.

That way, when situations like this crop up, I can leisurely do whatever I must without thoughts of another person intervening.

"Master..."

"If I allow him to drink and return to his rooms, his cry would alert the school body and in turn cause us problems. Here he can suffer in silence while we go about our day. This is necessary. Even though I had rejected him I believe that, in the end, having his friends around would serve as disposable meat shields."

My icy gaze on Wincu I watched her, such a pure look. Sigh such beauty will be taken by another, well, at least her children whenever she is married will be just as beautiful.

That is, if she survives.

**

A day after I entered my room and found the icy beauty resting, my bed was covered in both blood and sweat. His form hadn't changed much outwardly, but will rapidly grow stronger when he trains, at least the right way.

Well, it is why I am here.

His lung capacity should be able to hold for an entire day. Able to withstand a depth of around eighty meters, on a level. Back on earth the deepest humans had travelled with the necessary equipment was a little over 637,19 meters and that was in the Pacific Ocean.

It was obvious that these humans on this world would be impressive since the gravity and depth was different.

For me by then I should be able to dive five times that record and hold my breath for at least a week without any problems, but it is only if I trained hard enough.

Wincu should be able to accomplish half of that and Cehn with the cold beauty and the rank of one student perhaps they would be able to even surpass my goal.

Staring down at him for a while, I found myself drawn by his beauty.

"When the great creator made you, he was happy for you are so breathtaking –  even putting my true self perhaps to shame!"

With a wave of my hand and using the system that had upgraded once again, I cleaned both him and my bed, thought to change his clothing but decided against it.

Sitting in one of the plush chairs in my room, I pulled up my screen to look at his vitals since the system has taken his samples from cleaning.

<This mortal has compatible genes, host>

<I'm sure he does. Look at his beauty already>

Analysing his blood, it was quite confusing. Normally, a human has around 92% of water in their blood but this human had around forty percent.

<Huh ... His plasma fluid is lacking as well>

<His blood work states that he has an exterior similar to humans but from his body's internal structure is definitely not human> the system said sounding not a bit surprised.

Switching the screen with the blood work I pulled up his skeleton… alright, so the average human has around 206 bones. This male seems to have a lot of extras.

<He 216 has a total of bones. Ah, what is this?>

I swiped the screen looking, zooming it in closer where a human had two temporal bones this male had four, but still looked normal. Each was half the length of an average human, but in the end it didn't seem much different from a typical human.

His spinal column, at first glance, seemed normal, but where the lumbar vertebrae was located, he had eight compacted bones instead of the basic five. Am I remembering correctly? Had the biology I learned in class back on earth been wrong, or what?

I shook my head, confused, this could not be true but maybe I forgot something?
