Tóm tắt

I remember what it was like to live in a cage. From the days when I was little, I remember how it felt to be sold, used, beaten, and persecuted. I remember then as the last vestiges of my humanity fled from me and created the monster that they so feared. The Angels? God? They had abandoned me. An empty cry to a mother never to be answered. Humanity likes to cage that which it fears. To tame forces of nature, to control that which is beyond their understanding. They had tried to capture me again, and they had failed. I remember the day they killed me. I remember the day they made me…'We of the Succubi show no weakness.' -------------------------------------------------------------- Since the day Kali lost her sight, she has been cold. She has spent eons in the darkness, reliving the horrors of her past. As a succubus demon, and shackled with only the sight of the movement of air, and how objects affect it, she is limited and blessed in her senses. Calculated and ruthless, she has dedicated her life to the sword, making her blade an extension of her soul. She has passed the centuries offering her services to the highest bidder, seeking answers about her powers and her people. Today, she hunts at night alone -- accepting contracts on high level demons escaping from the ever thinning veil between dimensions. Hiding in plain sight, she has spent her existence seeking answers in her research . Who is she? What are these powers she has memories of but cannot manifest? Why are the demons coming after her? She has kept herself alive for centuries, as a girl who has never known warmth or love, she certainly doesn't need this stranger, Rhys, who ignites a passion unlike she has ever known. Chapter 1Chapter 1: The Night

I remembered everything: the crisp autumn leaves that traversed the grey sky, and the incandescence of the sun's desperate attempt to force through the clouds — a battle of the gods hidden from mortal eyes. I remember the majesty of a torrent of rain cascading onto the emerald fields, the waves of the onyx lake capping white and crashing against the jutting rocks, thundering as if a herd of stallions was arising from the depths. The hills around me were coated in a rich fog.

I had been waiting for you for a long time. The cold had begun to seep into my bones, the ache indistinguishable from the one of my soul calling to you. Icy drops cut my skin, frigid water streamed into my eyes, which I wiped away with the strings of hair that clung to my cheeks and my back, the white of my dress rendered it transparent, and my numb fingers failed at the clasps of my shawl.

The sun set, darkness crept across the bluffs, the fog only grew more dense. The eerie crackle of disturbed leaves distracted me from the glowing yellow eyes along the forest edge. Finally, my ears had perked up as I heard the approach of footsteps, but it appeared you were not alone.

"Kali?" Sam called.

"You came," I had sighed, and smiled tilting my head toward the voice. The guttural chuckles of your companions made me uneasy, and I crossed my arms across my chest, smile faded, "What is going on?" Knife ears, I had heard in whispers, I shook my hair out in front of my face.

A hand gripped my chin and forced my gaze upward, I stared into piercing indigo eyes I could scarcely recognize as yours. Behind me, my hair yanked, and my hands were bound with a chord. I struggled until I could feel blood trickling down my wrists — until hunks of my raven hair floated to the ground

Freak, outlander, witch. The voices had mocked, and the fury I had long suppressed flowed through my veins.

"Look at 'er eyes," a scratchy voice proclaimed, "that's where she's hidden the demon, son,". The torch the older man held scorched her face with its heat, the embers flickered from it sparking my skin, my cheeks began to blister, but he did not retreat.

"Sam!" I cried, and clutched to vain hope. All hope fled that day as I saw your dead eyes behind your father's men. Blood stains bloomed on the fabric of my gown, it trickled down, feeding into the emerald of the Earth. As the hands of the nameless men forced me to the ground, as they tore at the remnants of my gown, a solitary tear traveled along my cheek. A howl sounded in the distance.

I stared up at the glow of the pale moon, disconnected from my body.

We of the Succubi show no weakness

When the crowd of men stepped away at last, I lie there. A clump shivering in a pool of my own crimson blood — the only warmth provided in this darkness. I had tried to count the stars in the night sky, to not be blinded by the moonlight that taunted us from the heavens with its promise of light, but it was only a reflection. The dark face of the Sam's father crowded my vision, and I saw the sadistic pleasure lighting his eyes, so similar to his son's. The torch had burned down to a plank of wood with a burning ember at it's tip. As he lowered the plank toward my eyes, I screamed

We of the Succubi show no weakness I had never imagined that those eyes would be the last bit of light I saw, before my soul gave in to the darkness.

The endless opaque greeted me. My sight was gone, I remained in a world of shadows. Swirls of dust from the packed earth floor glowed in the sliver of moonlight from an opening in the distant cavern ceiling. My knees folded painfully beneath me, my fingers grazed the ground and felt the sticky wet of blood surrounding my body. I began patting at the ground wildly, grasping at clumps of dirt. Ignoring my pain, I scrambled about desperate.

Where is it?

My breaths came in rapid heaves, I flailed wildly in the darkness. I felt the claustrophobic edges of the circular cavern walls surrounding me. There was no doorway. The only escape was through that hole in the ceiling. I stood on shaky legs and traipsed forwards, to trip and land in the dirt. Metal clanged.

There!

I scrambled over the item I fell on, and my fingers trailed the seductive Fae steel, lovingly caressed the razor edges. I gripped the hilt of my sword, clutching the only familiarity in this wasteland for dear life. I paused.

Drums banged incessantly to a dark rhythm outside. Voices rose among the gasping cries of the wind. Chants echoed and shook the cavern walls. I could hear the clang of metal drift through the opening. The sharpening of an Axe.

Blood...death...sacrifice...demon. The worlds assailed my ears, a banshee's cry in the night, I sunk to my knees my hands over my pointed ears. My sword fell in the dirt. My body shook, blood began to drip from my ears. I screamed up at the full moon.

The tattered remnants of my dress shredded completely as colossal black wings sprung from my spine. Gold feathers shone, mixed with the black, the wings hugged my body like a warm caress. A memory I knew well. My eyes stung, all I could make out were shadows and a sliver of light. The chanting grew louder, footsteps approached my cell.

I crouched in the Earth and gripped my sword once again in my right hand. Spreading my wings to test my range, I stared up at the hole in the ceiling.

It's time to show them what they are all afraid of.

Kicking up, I launched myself into the night sky. Their screams could be heard through time.

Hellbound Heart

[WARNING: MATURE CONTENT] - Izabelle had underestimated the fire she thought she was going to play with tonight. But how could she ever have foreseen that the man she had happened to come across with does not play with just a small fire, but a whole inferno? ___ Excerpt: "You going through this marriage with me might as well be like you digging your own grave. Because the moment you start to want more from me, I will divorce you. And the moment you break your promise and try to fight me… I will ruin you and break you apart completely. Mercilessly. You will regret ever meeting this devil tonight." His threat was given in the same soft but cold voice. But Elle did not even flinch. Her gaze never faltered either. This man was ruthless, and she knew that clearly. His eyes that moment promised nightmares and darkness without any promise of respite. But no matter what he says now, it would still not change her decision. She truly had no other choice. "I understand now…" she said quietly, steeling herself. "Since you don't trust that I will keep my word, how about we do this? You prepare the divorce documents beforehand now and I'll sign it. That way, once you decide to divorce me in the future, the papers would already have been signed and there would be no way I can trouble you about it. You would just need to send it to the lawyers and have it notarized." A heavy silence reigned before his quiet disbelieving laugh broke the silence. "I'm at a loss for words, Princess Izabelle." He looked wickedly amused. But then he started nodding in approval. "Fine, princess. I will marry you." ___ Instagram account: kazzenlx.x facebook page: author_kazzenlx Discord server: https://discord.gg/UGTA3A4 Cover is mine so don't use it. Cassandra’s life was toppled when she was gifted a warrior slave by the mighty Alpha of Dusartine. She was asked to take part in the Yearly Arena Event by collaborating with the warrior. Cassandra who hated ‘The Arena’ with her very breath. A place where blood flowed like wine and life was cheaper than the very air they breathed didn't understand her purpose in it. On top of that, the mysterious warrior affected her in unimaginable ways. His hypnotic gaze unsettled her. His rare essence overwhelmed her. His muscular bronzed body consumed her with sinful thoughts. Even the dreams of her past life plagued her. The question would be. How will Cassandra grapple once she learns of the curse placed on her? Will she be able to obtain her magical abilities and stand up to her father? Who will help her along the journey? ~Excerpt~ Then she felt him, all of him. All his ruggedness. The strength of his arm. The softness of his lips. The grip of his hand. The warmth of his breath. Every muscle in her body went taut at the implications of sleeping in a man’s arms. She had never slept in a male’s embrace before. Her whole skin tingled like tiny sparks dancing on the very parts that connected with him. The crevices of her brain had these memories which weren't hers. This touch somehow didn't seem foreign to her. She felt safe in his soothing embrace and didn't wish to push him away and yet she knew this was far from appropriate. Cassandra tried to wriggle out of his hold, his arms seemed to be built from iron for they wouldn't budge. The light garment she had worn had lifted from her milky thigh baring it as his bronzed muscular one was draped on it. And now she could sense something poking her back. Her eyes suddenly expanded from the realisation and Cassandra fully panicked. “Let go!” She voiced out, heavily. Siroos slowly lifted his leg and slackened his hold on her waist so she could shuffle away. He had awakened when she had stiffened for the first time but wished to behold what she would try. With eyes blown wide she stole a glance towards the man who had her wrapped in his embrace like a precious treasure, his treasure. His molten gold eyes had flickered open and there was this softness and want with which he stared at her. Those soft brown curls cascaded over his eyes as he forgot to blink, watching the timeless beauty that she was. Her one-of-a-kind fragrance was a torture to his senses. How he wished to grab her dainty ankle, pull her from it and have her sprawled underneath him. To kiss the very skin that oozed such scent which was driving him insane. Instead, he bent his arm and placed it under his cheek using it like a pillow to watch her with desire-filled eyes. The awkward lull between them prolonged as Cassandra cleared her throat. “Did you have to climb on me to sleep?” “It wasn't intentional but was certainly enticing and definitely won't be the last time.” His deeply hypnotic voice was even more alluring this early in the morning as it resonated all around her. The Fate Of The World Is In My Hands, But All I Want To Do Is Eat!

'Kill monsters, eat meat' 'I mean, Kill monsters, save lives. Got it.' 'Tut, I could've sworn that the first one sounded better.' She wasn't a girl looking for freedom or self-righteous liberation by a hero, or whatever shit a girl who suffered for almost all her life would crave. -the shit of a life she was living was horrible, but it was bearable, and so she got used to it. Rather, instead of freedom, what this little missy wanted was money. Lots and lots of them so she never has to worry about the next day. Money - bountiful enough that when she has to spend, she doesn't need to look back or calculate her assets to see how much she has left. Money - bountiful enough to get all the fried chicken she could ever dream of. Yeah, you heard it, fried chicken. For those who did not have money to spare leisurely, getting fried chicken was like a pipe dream to them and she had been one of those unfortunate souls. A comfortable roof above her head and no worries as to when she would get ordered around to steal. No worries about when she would get her next meal-- That was her liberation. And she got it. Just that, she got it most absurdly. Awakened! Those were the people ruling the world, alongside beastly and deadly monsters who threatened the safety of average human beings. And those awakened call the shots. Alice never dreamed she would one day be awakened, and compared to others with their game-like system displaying their attributes and strength; she had a full-grown man whom only she could hear, watching her back at every turn and telling her what to do. He was kinda a pain in the ass but she couldn't complain. It was this gift he had bestowed on her that made her the most powerful Awakened there was with stats that even S-class awakeneds couldn't compare to. She was the boss, now. Mwa-hahahahaha. But life didn't go as easy and leisurely as she planned. With great power comes great responsibility, right? Well, in her case with great power comes great hunger. She couldn't go a moment without getting hungry and her stomach had become a bottomless pit. And to get food, she needed money, and to get money, she had to hunt monsters. The monsters plagued humanity, causing catastrophes and taking lives mercilessly. Those monsters, as scary as they may be, were her target and she had to face them head-on. The bigger the monsters the more money she would gain. Yeah, that was the plan, but... This guy acting as her system seemed to have other plans, putting her at the forefront of 'justice' and having her clean the mess he somewhat created. 'Ugh, I can already sense a shadow of foreboding. Someone, please tell me I'm not acting the main character role. I just want to eat, okay?'

QI's system right now categorizes all novels taken from the female novel Chinese site (起点女生网) as 'romance' without fail, regardless of whether they truly are romance. So, if you are here just for the romance, you might want to find a different novel. There will be some romance eventually, but most of this novel is Sci-Fi/Xianxia with a lot of world-building and character development. 2) I use British spelling. So, please ensure spelling errors are really errors before reporting them. 3) No matter what the release rate up top says, the guaranteed release rate right now is 1 chp/day (a.k.a. 7 chps/week). All else is extra at my discretion. (I'll try my best, but RL responsibilities come first.)
