Glitches of memories of a childhood long since buried, resurfaced around me, the overwhelming feeling of loss-making my heart heavy with pain.
Standing in the middle of a dark space I'm surrounded by hovering, holographic images of a past never mine but seems familiar to me, every one of them like a movie portrayed in a theatre.
One, in particular, caught my attention and I stare at the rolling images of an older man and my host's younger self practising her fighting skills in a large forest.
The older male has silver hair and golden eyes, he's dressed in a fitted, black jumpsuit similar in style to the suit my host's younger self wears, which appears tailored to perfection for her small figure.
I tilt my head in wonder when a soft smile lights up her face when all of a sudden, her father swings the younger version of my host into his arms and spins her around, his boisterous laugh echoing in the space around me.
Giggling, her younger self lets out a squeal of excitement while in his open arms. Her expression of joy and happiness quite foreign to me.
As an orphan raised on the run, every memory of my childhood is filled mostly with bloodshed. Some of it even mine.
But for my host, it seems she enjoyed a fulfilling life when she was younger, which then became painful and chaotic as she grew into a semi-adult.
When I first woke up in her body and learned the little I could of her life, it seemed imperative that I join the Elite Force Army in place of my dead host to fulfil her dream of becoming something called an Elite Warrior for the Supernatural Elite Task Force.
The Elite Force Army is an organization put together for the benefit of protecting the new world order on earth and it's been known that the organization has several scientists working day and night on a drug that could one day become the saving grace for all hybrids and their bloodlust.
So, as it seems from the moment my host took her first steps, she was trained just for the slim chance of getting into the Academy for the drug. They couldn't afford for her to start the academy as a child since the fees are outrageous, so they wanted to wait until she could grow up.
Getting assaulted by her memories I'm getting snippets of who she is... or was, her life, struggles, comforts, and everything else. Which shouldn't be even possible.
Just when I thought about how to get out of this ridiculous situation I'm pulled out of my unconscious state, startling awake thanks to the sting of pain that's currently tingling my left cheek.
Glaring at the bloody idiot who stood before my bed, I scream in anger. "What the hell, did you just slap me?"
"Don't look at me." He shrugs, pointing over his shoulder with a blank stare. "She did it."
The sight of the Caucasian blonde behind Sorcha made my blood boil, it's been centuries since I've last seen the bitch and she still looks as spiteful as I remember.
"It's been a long while hasn't it Akaia, daughter of blood and death."
"Likewise, Great Seer of Elytrum," I reply with a sneer.
Red lips tilted up; she stares at me with those haunting sea-blue eyes of hers. Anyone who didn't know better would take a good look at the blonde beauty with soft features and a petite physique, and mistake her for someone docile, soft, easily manipulated.
Only, once you get to know her, you'd find just how spiteful, vengeful, and conceited the bitch is. The worst situation for an immortal would be to get on her bad side, many know not to mess with a fate changer. But of course, many are not me.
"Why are you here?"
Letting out a sigh, Sorcha stared at me with a pensive look. "There seems to be a problem with your host's body."
