Lily ran into Angel's office "Ma'am".

Lily was literally breathing heavily like she just ran a marathon race.

"What's wrong? Why are you breathing like that?".

The...the...chair....man is here" Lily said under her breath.

"Is that why you were running? It's his company so he can come as he likes" Angel said nonchalantly.

"I thought Mr... Ryan was here" Lily stammered looking around like she was searching for something.

She saw him about ten minute s ago when she was going to get something from the cafeteria and relay some information to the HR department, saying he was going to see Ms. Angel.

"What do you mean by you thought he was here? Did he come?" Angel stood up and walked to Lily holding her right hand.

Yes...he ca.." Lily was cut off by the abrupt opening of the door.

Why are you both speaking cordially?" A voice from behind said.

Lily froze as she heard the voice. She knew it was the Chairman's voice and she was too scared to even turn around.

The chairman is a very fierce and principled man, he hardly talked to or respected any of his staff when he was the president.

He believes that normal employees shouldn't have anything to do with the elites, he fires anyone that smiles at him even if you are doing great in your job.

Dad? What are you doing here?" Angel actually didn't know what to say that would cover Lily.

The chairman stared at them both with anger and disgust "I asked a question, why are you both speaking cordially?".

"Dad...I asked her about a report of our sales...and we both...we were..." Angel just kept on stammering because she couldn't find any excuse and she was fucking scared.

She can't allow Lily to just get sacked like that, it was all her fault...Lily cared too much about her and it has landed her in trouble.

"Hey!! I interviewed you before you became my daughter's secretary, right??" Mr. Addams was really disappointed in Angel because she associates herself with low class.

Lily turned around with her head bowed. She worked with Chairman Addams for a month before Angel took over and it was hell for her.

He always yelled and complained about everything, she had to frown and stare at his petty behavior.

To her, his behavior is just immature and petty but she has no right to say that because her job was her priority and she couldn't afford to lose it.

"Yes, you did sir... I'm so sorry... I would take my leave now".

Escaping was the only solution right now but she also knew that it wasn't right to work out on your boss when he was not done talking.

He turned around and yelled "Hey!! Where the heck do you think you are going? I explained the terms and conditions of your job didn't I?

Why are not following it? Pack your things and leave".

He was talking like he was raping and this made him look more like a monster.

Lily began to cry, she knelt and held his right leg "Please sir, I promise it won't happen again".

Angel got really mad because of her father's petty and immature behavior, it was annoying her but she was so afraid to speak.

"Dad, what's your problem? Why are you being so immature? The young lady didn't do anything wrong".

Chairman Addams: "..."

Lily: "..."

Nobody would ever believe that Angel would speak to her father that way.

Angel was very much aware that her father could slap her but he would never remove her as the president of his company.

"Angel, why are you supporting this good-for-nothing thing? I own my company and I have my rules and regulations" Mr. Addams raised his voice again.

Angel gave an apologetic look "Lily, Please stand up and return to your work... sorry for the way my dad spoke to you, I apologize on his behalf".

"Don't you ever disgrace me like that again"?

Angel was right, she knew the slap was going to come.

Her father always slapped her since her mom left, it was her punishment and every mistake must follow a punishment.

Her father once gave her the beating of her life and she landed in the hospital.

And her offense was that she refused to study Business Administration and decided to study food.

After the event, she came back from the hospital and tried to report it to the police but he father's influence was just too great that the matter was died down.

Angel fought her tears and closed her eyes tightly in anger "Leave!!!".

Lily knew she was talking to her so she stood up and ran out hurriedly.

"You just showed your true nature to an employee...and if you try to sack Lily, I would support her in finding evidence of what just happened" Angel maintained a low voice. Angel pointed to the CCTV camera.

It was connected to her phone so she had all evidence against him.

She would rather not allow her dad to spoil an innocent lady's life than hers.

Angel picked up her bag and walked to the door, she touched the knob then she stopped.

"I would prepare and go for the blind date you set for me".

Angel walked out of the office.

Angel tried her possible best not to react like something just happened.

She tried to work moderately like she always did but it was just too hard.

Her legs felt so weak that she walked wobbly. She tried to maintain her composure but the pain she felt inside was unbearable.

"Ma'am!" Lily called out but she received no response.

Lily kept calling until Angel responded with a sigh.

"Leave me alone" Angel shouted.
