3 Fudgecake

(CUSTOMER POV)

I looked at the device, my eyes traveling across the screen. Reading the emails sent from my sister's hospital. About her having amnesia after the car accident.

"Thankfully, we believe she can remember a few people, but we will have to make sure.

With love,

------- Hospital."

That was the newest email. A tear made its way down my face, being wiped off by my hand.

I pulled out a pen and a paper.

Working out math problems always helps me with calming down. It should work this time, too...

The young waitress from an hour earlier came to my table with some fudgecake. "Sorry, we don't serve boba here. I hope this will work instead!"

She handed me the cake and a small smile. That was kind of her.

"Thank you."

The waitress looked sad. Was she sad? I think she's sad.

"What's wrong?"

"Have you been crying?" She asked.

"Uhmmm... no?" I replied.

"That's a lie."

"No it's not."

We both stood in silence for a few seconds. She sat on the chair beside me. We waited there. It felt like an eternity.

"If you'd like, we can talk," she said "but we can also just hug."

Well this felt awkward.
