Grayson climbed into his Mercedes and headed back to the castle, knowing he had to get out of there quickly before Marcus and Piers changed their minds. He couldn’t believe that Piers had actually stopped Marcus from killing him. Also, he couldn’t believe that Marcus had actually pulled a gun on him and had made traitorous remarks.
Grayson hurried to the castle as quickly as he could, resisting the urge to turn the car around and go after Marcus. But then again, Piers was guarding him. Although Grayson wasn’t afraid of Piers, he had a healthy respect for him, knowing he would protect his paycheck at all cost. And in this case, his paycheck was Marcus. In addition, Grayson didn’t want to go to prison for the rest of his life for killing the likes of him.
A few moments later, Grayson pulled down the long expansive driveway leading to the castle. When he pulled up out front, he threw it into park and left the keys in it for the valet, and then hurried up the stairs.
