Elizabeth's P.O.V
"Hey, sis! Wake up!" I feel a hand shaking me, I guess it's my brother Josh. 'Why is he waking me up? It's Sunday, there's no school today.'
"Why?" I mumble sleepily
"We have new neighbors and they look familiar, go take a look!"
I still don't know why he is waking me up "Leave me alone" I mutter trying to get back to sleep.
"No! Just wake up and see them please…" He made his voice sound like the one of a little baby as he said the word please which made me get up.
"Okay, okay. I'm waking up" I say, standing up from the bed. He opens the window and points out towards a man, a woman, and a boy that looks like he is in my age group.
"Look closely" Josh muttered, it seemed like he was really confident about it so I look closer and finally notice how familiar they actually are.
"Are those… Mr. and Mrs. Rakesham?!" I tried to whisper but accidentally shouted.
"Yes! And look! That's Jake your first crush whom you'll always love and never forget!"
Is that really Jake? He looks so different, so mature. He looks handsome but not that I care… Why did they have to move into the house next to ours after all these years? I've finally been able to forget him, not that we dated but we were best-best friends! We did everything together and went everywhere together, we had sleepovers most of the time as well. To sum it up we were really close until he and his family moved without him even saying goodbye.
One day I had woken up early and rushed to his house so we could go to school together but on reaching his house I found it empty and a note on the door saying that they had moved etc… We were still twelve at that time so I didn't have a phone to call him, I was down for some months and I felt really lonely. He was my only friend… That changed after I moved as well and changed schools though.
"Betty? Why aren't you reacting?" Josh's smile then widened "Was he really your crush?" He said, barely able to hold his laughter back.
"Of course not, we were just friends! Now you can get out of my room", I still have incomplete work to finish and if you are wondering what the work is, then it's sleep.
"Wait!" He said, using his hand to stop the door.
"What?!" I shout impatiently. I am not normally this hard on him, normally we are friendly with each other but he made me see someone who I've always wished never to meet again, he also disturbed my sleep. My sleep!!
"Mom and dad went out and I am really hungry," He said after thinking for a few seconds.
"So why are you telling me this?" I say angrily, I know it's not his fault but I'm just feeling really grumpy right now.
"Could you make me something to eat?" He asked me with an innocent face.
I know that if I go to the kitchen with him I'm surely going to argue with him and I don't want that so I think I'm going to go back to sleep. I'm doing this for him. Yes! I am doing him a favor.
"Eat some cereal bro" I then shut the door and locked it, I know that he won't be able to come in for now.
'It's time to finish my incomplete sleep'
