1 Chapter 1

I wake up to the silence that allows for my mind to comprehend what is going on

The last thing i remembered was being inside my room to rest

Knowing that death was approaching for an old man like me I asked my son if his wife and my grandkids can go out and enjoy a vacation

Even in my late 70's I can still walk around albeit slow and frail. But that did not stop me from enjoying such wonderful moments to bond with my family

For this vacation we decided to go to a beach resort with an amusement park near its vicinity for four days and three nights

Arriving to our destination we checked into the resort and pack our baggages in the room, the children were excited to play while my son and daughter-in-law relaxed from the stress filled jobs

I was playing with the kids by the beach, building sand castles and collecting shells by the shore till sunset

The next day we decided to tour around the resort buying food from each stalls, some looked weird but still tasted edible

After touring around we went to enjoy the amusement park, playing the carnivals and enjoying rides, this continued for two more days but as the saying goes, time flew fast when your having fun

As the sun sets we decided to back to our logging's and return home tomorrow afternoon as the children were tired from running around too much

Waking up we did a final tour and bought souvenirs then decided to go back and drive home, arriving home in a five hour drive it was already night time

my son and daughter took the baggages and went inside while i guide the little ones, we watched tv while my daughter prepared for dinner. Calling from the kitchen its was time to eat, so went to eat together while enjoying some of the kids stories that made us smile

After guiding them in their rooms they asked me for a bedtime story, of course their parents told them to just rest because they just had an eventful week but who am I to refuse such an easy request

"Don't worry, its just a bedtime story"

"But dad, you should rest easy, the doctor said you..... "

"I know what he said son, but that doesn't mean I would ignore such a small request from my grandkids now do I?"

".....Fine, but don't take too long, we still have an appointment to the doctor early tomorrow"

"Of course"

As my son left the room, I turned to face my grandchildren and started telling them stories of an amazing world where monsters and magic exist, where many different kinds of creatures and monsters roam the world.

Tales of greatness and adventure can gain you fame, fortune and even nobility.

I can see stars flash in their eye as the story unfolds, specially when the hero saves the world from chaotic beings that brings destruction.

As the story was coming to an end my grandson asked me,

"grandpa, if such a world exist do you think we can be a hero?"

I turned quite as I recalled an event in my younger years, one where I was still a part of a secret organization that roamed the world hunting Warlords.

Warlords that lead their territory from killing random civilians to selling drugs and even human trafficking, just to inflate their influence and political power in their own nation.

Assassinating dark organization leaders and agents that plans on creating mass killing bombs to sell or secretly experimenting harmful chemicals on villages.

"g...pa, ....andpa, GRANDPA!!"

I was knocked out of my thought when I heard my granddaughter shouting for my attention.

" Haha , It was nothing my dear, I just remembered something in my past, just an old memory" I said with a wry smile.

"about my question grandpa, what do you say?" my grandson says.

"Well my boy, before you become a hero, you must first learn what it means to be a hero." I said.

My grandson was bewildered to my answer and asked "huh? but being a hero means helping other's right?"

I shake my head and said "being a hero isn't just about the "what" son, but also a "why", you may not understand right now because your still young. But I'm sure you'll understand it along the way as you grow by the years."

He simply tilted his head and "tried" to ponder for a moment but decided to sleep anyways because he was too tired running around the amusement park for the whole day.

I'm sure he will remember this moment in the future, I turn to look at my granddaughter and was quite surprise to see that she was nodding like she agreed with me so I asked

"What about you my dear? do you also want to be a hero?" I said.

What she replied was quite intriguing, she shook her head and said " no grandpa, I don't want to be a hero"

"oh? and why not my dear?" I asked

"because I read in one of the books in your room saying that hero's are the center of trouble and bad attentions" she said.

"hmm? did you enter my office when I wasn't looking? my, my, since when did you learn to be sneaky all of the sudden? you naughty little one" I said teasing my cute little grandchild and poking her little cheeks.

I can already tell which one of the two has a smarter head, I can rest easy that they could at least watch each other

She blushed and pouted her mouth saying "moouu, stop that grandpa!!"

"Haha! well what do want to be when you grow up then?"

She froze for a second and faced me saying " I want to be like you grandpa"

I stopped teasing her and looked down, staring at her face looking if she was serious

Apparently, It seems she was smarter than I thought

I kept quite for a few seconds before saying "My dear, the path I chose was much more harder than being a hero, you don't really have to follow my footsteps I was simply a field agent"

"I know grandpa, but I still wanna do it" she said

I closed my eyes for a few seconds, opening them to stare at her and said

"The world is full of hardships and wonders. Go learn and experience what the world have for you, don't rush and simply enjoy them my dear. Your still young, you really don't have to bother about this things right now anyway so just enjoy your childhood"

"really?" she asked innocently

"Yes my dear, anyway its late. Lets get you to bed now"

"ok" I guided her to her bed and tuck her in

"Goodnight grandpa" she said in a tired tone

"Goodnight to you too my dear" I leaned close and kissed her head "Sleep Tight"

I walked out the door and went to the living room to check on my son and daughter-in-law

But apparently they also decided to sleep early and without anything more to do I decided to go back to my room

Closing the door behind me i went near my bookshelf, displayed by the rows are stories of different kinds of books from genres about kingdom building, magic, fantasy novels, isekai, harem novels and even sm*t

I smiled wryly and was simply glad that putting the more mature contents of these books higher up to prevent children from discovering them, they're too young after all

My granddaughter can only grabbed the fantasy and isekai novels below, looking through each one i see a book that was slightly out of place

I see the cover titled "Bloodlines"

It's a story of a reincarnated otaku that died trying to save a girl he liked from being run over by a truck. Relived that he managed to push her away from danger he closed his eyes in relief that he managed to be a hero in the eyes of someone he was attracted to.

But the reality is harsh and unforgiving, apparently the girl wasn't even crossing on a road but even walking by the sidewalk, the truck the boy saw was only a small tractor and the driver seems to be driving near the sidewalk because of the small road.

The boy thought that the girl was gonna get run over so he dash to push the girl away only to see the tractor near his face, of course the driver managed to stop on time and checked the girl who was standing and shaking dust of her cloths then both looked at the boy who seemed to have a seen a ghost that his face has the same face like ka**ma and lost consciousness. (Author note: tell me if you get the reference 😂)

both the driver and girl found it funny but still decided to call an ambulance to the poor boy but it seems he also had a heart attack and his cause of death.

In a dark expanse we can see a soul orb of the boy, looking around trying to understand what was happening.

"That is one pitiful but funny way to die mortal" said by deep gruff voice

"What?! who's there?!" said the soul

"well, i am one of the GOD's of the universe, and currently you are in my domain you can call me ROB" the god replied

"OH. MY. GOD" said the soul

"yes i am, and no not yours" God ROB

"Am I getting REINCARNATED?!" soul said excitedly, remembering all those isekai anime and mangas he read

"Hmmm, well for showing me one of the possible way to die in a pitiful but funny way. Very well" God ROB

"YES! then i wish to...." the young soul started wishing like no tomorrow, wishing for a system, Unlimited this, Unlimited that and of course he didn't forget to wish to have his past life memories intact.

The god was simply silent, watching the soul blabber his wish while thinking something only he knows.

"....and i wish to reincarnate in a world where only 20 percent are men and the rest are women" the soul finally stopping to breathe and waiting excitedly for the god to fulfill his wish(es).

"Are you ready for you reincarnation?" the god simply replied after

"Uhh yes, OH! i also....." the soul began to continue to talk about his wish and adding more outrageous and stupid things that the god decided he had enough of the soul talking

"huh? what?" the soul startled ask

"I am now reincarnating you, so long and goodbye" said the god showing his disinterest to the soul

"YES!!, THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME MY WISHES GOD ROB!!" he said extremely happy too

as the light of soul was fading away the god replied " ah, the only wish i can fulfill was reincarnate you to a random world and giving you back your old life's memories, giving you those wishes you mentioned are out of my divine authority." the god said with a sly smirk on the soul

"Wha?! you bast....." said soul before fading completely.
