Tashiro Taniuchi and his two friends Yasuhiko and Erena are the result of a sick human experiment gone wrong which leaves them as a cross breed between Inmortuae and humans called Jagerinnen. due to their resiliency to the pathogens of the outside world and there natural superior strength in combat the humans use this cross-breeds as a means of striking back at the Inmortaue and uncovering the mystery behind the apocalypse they now live in. (Sidenote: Jagerinnen = German word meaning Slayers. Inmortuae = Latin word for Undead.)
