Chapter 7

Cassandra's POV

Morning came around but i did not get one minute of sleep . After a fun night of chatting and eating I went to my room and started reading the book. It was amazing to know more about who my family was before .The book said:

" The royal family of Cromwell ruled for more than 80 years until the tragedy that happened in 1900's . Even though they tried to mend the problems with uncle Magnus , things took a turn for the worst as the misunderstandings would go on for months until Magnus created a plan which resulted in the riot the took place during winter . They made plan to attack during an evening that was meant to bring joy to the Cromwell family as one of the sibling was coming of age to receive their famille's rune. Things took turn for the worse when the packs were able to break the gate and get into the castle. The fight started but it all ended in defeat for the royals. They were all tied by their arms and legs with silver chains and by the end of it all they were taken outside and burned alive to the stake. To this day no one knows apart from Magnus where their bodies have been buried. Soon after Magnus took the throne and rule for almost an year. The packs that were by his side soon created another riot upon him , because Magnus starved them and took their riches. He was able to fled the castle in time and his whereabouts remained a mystery."

I couldn't believe that this person was related to me that he murdered his own family to gain the throne and still lost it in a couple of months. It was said that the packs which burned the royals alive all fled in the end and most family names remained unknown . Eventually the royalty faded away as no one tool the throne being done with all this madness and packs split up, even to an era between 1925-1930 where they would fight one another over unreasonable things.Also it was said that in those graves something precious was hidden that in the end would restore back it's rightful owner of the throne. Don't get me wrong but if I can make justice for my family without digging graves that would be nice.

" Did you wake up early?" Asked Irene who slept beside me.

"Actually, I didn't sleep at all . I read the book all night."

" You should rest you know."

" I thought I would find something for us. To help us with this madness." I suggested rising the book to her eye sight.

" Listen, I know it's hard to know everything was a lie until a couple of days ago but let's turn it around and make it to be the best story of our lives." She smiled while hugging me.

I nodded and we both got up to change for the day, we both decided to have matched outfits , so we went with some cute high waisted pants and some crop tops, she wore a dark green one and I wore a blue one. We went downstairs and prepared breakfast for the boys. For some reason today I started noticing auras in people , first when I say Irene which had a green aura and than mine in the mirror, I had this gold aura around me which surrounded my entire body . Once the boys got down i could see Will share the same color as mine and Jasper sharing the same shade of green as Irene.

"Guys why does some you have different aura but also some match?" I asked.

" Well if you are a match as in a bond or mate the auras will have the same shades." Explained Will.

" Sooo, if Jasper and Irene match does it mean they are mates? I grinned.

" Yes.’’ Irene answered Jasper out of the blue.

" Wait, so after all this time , you knew we were mates and said nothing?" Irene asked .

" I had to let you be you and when time came I would make you my one and only . Since you are a witch and I am a werewolf things go different we mate differently . I simply couldn't force it . But with that being said if you want me as your mate I am willing do to anything to make you mine , to make you happy by my side." Said Jasper with hope in his eyes.

" Yes." blurred out Irene. They both decided to go in another room to talk and bond.

A flash of concern rushed over me as I realized i am one day away from the full moon. I had to find a way to control it, but after a few seconds I remember something from the book. “Who shall wear a silver ring with a potion in a crystal shall pass through the night with no concern.”

“Will , I need to find silver.” I explained to him what I read. It is told to weaken the wolf only while you wear it, it shall not bring no harm after you take it off.

Once Irene and Jasper got back to the living room, I explained to Irene what I read. She took a few minutes for herself and started already working on a potion. She simply came back to me and added a charm to my bracelet. It was this blue crystal that had a potion moving inside of it.

“ This shall do it, I will create more of those and remember to change it every month when it fades into a green. This will not affect you shifting during the month it will only active when it’s the full moon. You must remove it during that night only if you need to.’’ And with that we both smiled in release. ‘’ Just use it for the fist six months, after that you will become custom the full moon and it will be easier.’’

Beep beep beep beep

“Hello?’’

“ Hi pumpkin ,it’s dad, I just wanted to hear your voice and to make sure you are okay.’’

‘’Hi dad I am fine, just doing my best.’’ I smiled.

‘’Listen, mom is feeling better and invited you all over for lunch, please come.’’pleaded my father.

‘’Okay I will.’’

I hung up the phone and asked everyone if they wanted to come. Everyone agreed and we all went to change. I decided to wear a simple dress with shorts underneath and my usual black converse, letting my hair hang over my shoulders. Once we got to the house I saw both my parents waiting at the door. My mom approached me and all she could do was hug me and tell me how much she loves me. I agreed everything was fine, but I won’t be moving back home for now, since training is important, but I will do my best to visit twice every week. She accepted my proposal, but begged me to stay out of trouble.

Once we were all seated I started telling them more about what I found out, and what we could do to turn the prophecy into something good. Dinner was really nice and by the end of it we were all laughing and having a good time. We said our goodbyes and left to get back to the den. Will stopped me to get back into the house but suggested e should go for a walk.

‘’ We never have a chance to talk more about us Cass.’’

‘’ I know and I am sorry, it’s just a lot to process and I don’t know how to deal with it all, but I promise all is good between us and I want our bond to grow.’’ I smiled as I grabbed his hand.

‘’ I am falling for you.’’ Whispered William as he leaned in closer. His lips collapsed into mine and it was the most perfect kiss I could have ever hoped for. It was the sweetest moment of the day and just pure bliss, no wonder why I compared his lips to cherry when I first saw him. We both pulled apart but looked into each other eyes with content. It was our first kiss.

‘’ Cassandra Cromwell! Be aware of your surroundings, she is coming and you better prepare.’’ My mind was linked once more with the black wolf.

All I could think was Faune, she was for sure going crazy looking for us as we broke any contact for a while, but Irene’s potion will last at least for another three days.

‘’ What’ the matter?’’ Will asked concerned.

‘’ She is coming, the black wolf just told me. We need to be prepared.’’

We both headed back to the den and told the others the news. We knew a war was coming but we had to be prepared to win this battle and return to my throne. I am not prepared to rule over the packs, but I believe I will learn from the alphas and reunite all the pack from the land once more. This time I shall make it good and protect my kind.

Me and Irene went to my room and decided to chat for a while.

“ So how did you find out you were an enchantress?’’

“Well, I kind of always knew, my mom is also one , my dad is a human though, but my powers grew every year, and from the age of six to present my mom taught me everything I know. The power at first was only in my fingers, but with help I am now able to radiate it all over my body, I mostly don’t need and spells for myself I can protect myself easily, I use the potions to help others that are in need of my help, that are not magical or simply just other creatures.’’

‘’ Since we exist, do others exist as well?’’ I asked.

‘’ You mean like vampires and fairies?’’ she asked while I nodded.’’ Yes, there are vampires in this land also but wolves have made a pact with them long ago so we all kind of live in peace, fairies don’t really exist in North Dakota, but there are some they are sometimes kind of mischievous creating chaos every once in a while. Sirens or mermaids can be found in the deep seas but they mostly take care of themselves they don’t really enjoy turning into humans.’’ She smiled. There was a knock at our door and Will came inside, he placed a letter on my bed explaining it was left on our porch some time ago. I decided to open it and read it .

‘’ Drear Cassandra Cromwell,

I told you I will soon reach out for you, and since last night you read my first letter I decided to deliver one more to you for now. Time is starting to tick and packs are learning about you, you must become a warrior soon and defend yourself and protect others, unleash the wolf within you and let your royal blood guide you in this journey. You will need all your friends by your side, trust them. When time comes I will start sending you trusted packs to join your fight and we shall soon meet. In the mean time stay put.

He wrote to me. So he is still alive and close to us. The letter had no address or stamps which mean he might have delivered it himself. I can’t help but wonder who he is.
