Becoming a Legend

Aswin was sitting in his home as usual doing his online job through his laptop while listening to music and eating popcorn.

After the outbreak of COVID-19 this has been the daily routine of Aswin( Doing his job in his laptop while eating popcorn and listening to music).

Suddenly the music had stopped and he heard some weird noises and a burning smell. He shifted his attention all across the room and noticed that the noises and smell was coming out his Amazon Echo, which was burning with sparks. Then it blasted off and before he realized it, he was dead.

He found himself in a dark space with nothing to be seen but a distant white light. He started walking towards the white light as if by instinct but as he walked closer, the light seems to move farther away from him. He continued walking and soon the entire day was spent walking. However, he could not reach the light.

A million years have passed and Aswin was still walking. For the past few days, he felt that the light has stopped moving and he was getting closer to the light.

As he continued walking, he began feeling extreme pain, felt as if his soul was being teared apart, and stitched together and again. This pain was growing worse as he neared the white light. But this pain could not stop him. He has already came this far. He did not know what would happen once he reached the white light, but there was nothing else for him to do. He decided to bear with the pain and move forward.

At last, when he reached the white light, the light started to enter his soul. The pain was the worst he could experience. He started screaming with all the voice he could muster. The pain began to gradually subside. He heard the sound of rushing footsteps that started getting much louder. He finally opened his eyes to find himself lying on a bed. He found himself tied up with bandages, his entire body was covered with sweat, and he felt an itching sensation that forced him to remove all the bandages on his body. While he was removing the bandages, the footsteps he heard earlier were getting closer.

He saw a beautiful young woman who appeared to be about 20 year's old running towards him. When she was about to reach she cried out, tears streaming down her eyes, "My son....".

Aswin was astonished from the women's reaction. Why was she calling him her son? Was there any misunderstanding? Before he could find his answers woman came dashing towards him taking him in her arms and hugging him so tightly that it almost broke his bones and he couldn't breathe.

"Huh...I can't breathe"...he cried out desperately. Hearing him, she released her grip and began patting his head looking at him in a motherly affection. She then looked at him to become surprised, as the wounded body she had bandaged moments ago has completely healed.

"Where am I?"

"What happened to me?"

"And who are you?".

Hearing this, the woman began weeping. She knew that even though her son's body was healed he seems to have lost his memory.

She did not answer. She wiped of her tears and smiling to her son went out to bring some water. When she came back, she saw him fast asleep. She woke him up, after making him drink the water she let him to sleep.

Aswin soon went into a deep sleep. While he was sleeping, he saw a dream.

The dream began with the loud cries of a woman. He recognized her as the woman he saw earlier. She was a beautiful woman with shining blue hair and dark blue eyes.

He then saw the woman giving birth to a baby with whom he felt a familiar connection. The baby began to cry as soon as it came to the world. The woman took the child in her arms and kissed him. Aswin felt happy seeing this but he did not know why he felt that he was being kissed instead of the child.

Just then, the scene faded and he saw the baby has grown up a bit and was playing with his mother. Soon he saw boy growing up, making friends, learning martial arts.etc.

His dream stopped with the being killed in a duel. At that time he heard a sound, "The one who has got my body please protect my mother."

Aswin got up from the bed and looked around. He now felt the room to be familiar. The room appeared to be in the fashion he saw in the T V as it used to be in Ancient China. He realized that he was in the body of another person and has inherited his memories. He prepared himself to live as another person in a new world.
