Chapter 77: As Long as I'm Strong Enough!
Luck Value: When used, it can trigger a fortunate event!
After the system notification, Yuta became more alert, realizing that Sora and Miu might wake up to check on him in the middle of the night. So, after "chatting" a bit more with Sasha, he left.
The task was complete, and tonight wasn't really the right time to continue with those kinds of activities.
It wasn't that Yuta didn't want to get involved with Kaoruko or Aoi, but he preferred to face them individually. Only that way could he regain his mood, which had been influenced by these two women!
Not long after returning, the sliding door of the room where Yuta was resting opened. The one checking in was Miu.
"Miu, is there something you need in the middle of the night?" Yuta, still in his clothes, covered himself with the blanket and asked Miu.
Miu felt relieved when she saw Yuta was there. She hadn't overthought it, just came to check to put her mind at ease. "No, I thought you all might still be playing mahjong and wondered if you needed some water."
"No need. Get some rest. We have school tomorrow," Yuta said as he lay back down. "Go back, it's already late."
"Okay. Good night, Onii-chan~" Miu gently closed the door, went back to her room, and gave her sister a quick update.
Neither of them imagined that Yuta could be involved with three women at the same time—it didn't even cross their minds. The main reason they checked was that two outsiders had suddenly come to the house, so they were just being cautious.
The next morning, when Yuta went to the kitchen, he saw Kaoruko and Hina already eating breakfast, while Sasha was still cooking.
Compared to Sasha, neither Aoi nor Kaoruko were the type to cook—they were more like pampered young ladies.
"Good morning, uncle~"
"Good morning, Hina."
"Where's Aoi?" Yuta sat across the table, watching Hina eat breakfast beside Kaoruko. This woman was not only good with adults but also great with kids.
Although Hina was quick to warm up to people, Yuta noticed that she seemed to like Kaoruko more than the others.
Maybe it was because of her big chest…
"Aoi's not up yet. Want to head to school together later?" Kaoruko asked, glancing at Yuta. Today was the first day of university.
After hearing this, Hina looked at Yuta and said, "Uncle, are you going to school today too? Sister Kaoruko is your teacher, so you have to listen to your teacher, just like I do!"
So that was it—are kids all this afraid of their teachers?
Yuta finally understood why Hina behaved so well around Kaoruko. It was because Kaoruko was a teacher, and since Hina had just started kindergarten, she still had a lot of respect for teachers.
Although Yuta respected teachers, he certainly didn't feel that way about Kaoruko.
"You're such a good girl, Hina," Yuta praised her without mentioning anything about his own situation, nor did he say anything about Kaoruko.
Kaoruko didn't mind and added, "I think you should spend some time studying literary classics this semester. Why not enroll under me and study now? I am a professor, after all, and it'd be more convenient for you to take leave in the future."
Kaoruko believed Yuta's literary skills were too weak and felt it was necessary to enrich his knowledge. At the very least, she wanted him to read the Tale of Genji, with its 840,000 characters, ten times over!
The Tale of Genji is a classic of Japanese literature, significantly influencing the development of Japanese literary culture. It is considered the pinnacle of classical Japanese literature and marked the beginning of the "mono no aware" era in Japan. The novel portrays the lifestyle of the Heian period, revealing human nature and courtly intrigues, reflecting the court life of that time.
Yuta had no interest in the book. To him, it was just something for show, and he had no intention of pursuing a literary path.
"Knowing the basics is enough for me. I don't plan on specializing in those areas," Yuta declined Kaoruko's offer. He preferred more practical fields like manufacturing and machine design over literature.
Sasha quickly joined them and sat down, saying, "University, huh? I became an idol before finishing high school. I never got the chance to attend university… such a pity…"
Thinking back on her youth, Sasha sighed, feeling that her younger days lacked any real joy or freedom.
"Uncle, I want to go to university too!" Hina, listening to her uncle talk, eagerly wished to go to school with him, imagining how fun it would be to be in the same class and play with him!
Yuta smiled and said, "Then Hina needs to study hard. Once you're in university, you'll be all grown up!"
"Do I become an adult when I go to university?" Hina's eyes lit up with excitement, making her even more eager to attend.
Sasha, sitting on Hina's other side, affectionately hugged her and said, "Yes! When you go to university, you'll go from being a little beauty to a big beauty!"
Watching Hina talking excitedly about her future, Yuta couldn't help but smile. Wanting to attend university is one thing, but first, she'll have to get through the mountains of homework and exams!
After a lively and harmonious breakfast, everyone gradually left the house. Miu and Sora went off to school first, and then Yuta headed to university with Aoi and Kaoruko. Sasha, meanwhile, took Hina to kindergarten.
While in the car, Kaoruko spoke to Yuta through the rearview mirror, "You can relax now. I won't do the things you hate anymore because I see no need."
Aoi, who knew Kaoruko better than Yuta did, coolly remarked while driving, "Yuta, as long as you're strong enough, Kaoruko won't be able to affect you. So, focus on making money!"
Yuta had always been bothered by Kaoruko.
She seemed to always have her own agenda, which made Yuta uneasy.
But at the same time, he had to admit that Kaoruko was the kind of woman who left a lasting impression—someone you couldn't easily forget.
She could make you like her and frustrate you all at once.
As Yuta pondered how to deal with this complicated relationship, Aoi's words suddenly cleared his mind!
That's right!
No matter how charming Kaoruko is, she's still just an assistant professor at a university. No matter how smart she is, that's all she is!
If he could attain power and status, why would he need to worry about Kaoruko's little games?
Previously, he had rejected the women Kaoruko tried to send his way because he didn't want to hurt them. But if he had the ability to take care of them, wouldn't that be a good thing?
"Thank you, Aoi! You really are a great help!" Yuta said sincerely, genuinely appreciating her advice.
Aoi, however, wasn't moved in the slightest. She let out a dismissive snort and coldly replied, "Don't call me for these boring things in the future."
Yuta sighed helplessly. "Aoi, call me daddy."
"Daddy!"
This illness… it really seems incurable…
