Azur Lane: Reincarnated As IJN Yamato

Today is a warm Monday morning, many people can be seen either going to work, school or chatting in nearby Cafés. A young girl around 17 years of age can be seen running like her life depends on it.

The young girl is actually late for school because she stayed up all night watching anime. This young girl is named Alice Grace, a normal young girl with a normal life in the United States of America.

Alice was your completely normal highschool girl that loves to watch anime, she has a normal family. Her father being an amazing businessman in a large international company, and her mother being a housewife also pregnant with Alice's soon to be sister.

Her school life was normal too, she has a good cycle of loyal friends, her grades were average to excellent depending on what kind of subject. She even managed to get herself a boyfriend.

Her boyfriend was quite popular in school because of his good attitude towards others, and also in social media because he's also a popular streamer that gained quite a lot of attention lately. Her boyfriend was handsome, humble, talented, rich, and very loyal to Alice.

Alice, of course, gets bullied by other female students because they were jealous of her. Getting such an amazing boyfriend even though she's mainly an introverted person, Alice doesn't have the looks of the most beautiful woman in the world nor have the body of a supermodel.

Alice ignores these bullies because they only say mean comments, and not going to the point where it's physical because those bullies already have a bad reputation in the school anyways.

Back to our protagonist, Alice continues to run faster to reach school in time. She checks her wrist watch without realizing that she's about to cross the road, and the traffic light was green.

The moment Alice checked her surroundings, there was already a large Truck close to her. Her eyes widened in shock as she muttered a single word.

Alice: "Truck-kun?"

The large truck hits Alice, making her whole body be flown like a ragdoll for a few meters before landing violently on the concrete road, her head bashed with a loud thud on the ground as blood begins to leak out.

Many people who witnessed the scene immediately called the paramedics or froze in shock, but by the time the paramedics arrived at the scene Alice was already pronounced dead.

[Alice POV]

I'm here, floating in the endless space of the void with nothing to do… I can't believe that Truck-kun killed me, sure, it's an honor to be killed by the God of Death himself, but why now? Why me? I was having fun with my life.

What did I do to deserve this?! Is it because of that time I stole my mom's credit card to buy more shit in F/GO because I keep getting black keys!? RNGsus never liked me anyways, I'm just another very unlucky Gacha player.

I floated in the void for minutes? Hours? Days? Months? Or years? I don't know anymore, I already lost count of time. It's boring where there's nothing to do, but float in nothingness.

I suddenly saw some kind of light behind me, I turned around to see the light… It seemed to be getting larger, and larger. Is it pulling me to it? Or I'm the one approaching it?

As I was getting pulled or approaching the light, it got to the point where I was completely blinded by the light before suddenly. I appeared inside of an office? What? The office seemed to be modern looking.

???: "Alice Grace, born, and raised in the Good ol' US of A. Was killed by Truck-kun."

I heard quite a deep voice, I looked over to the desk, and there was a chair facing it's back to me before the chair spun around to reveal a very handsome man… Wait… I know that face… SUNG JIN-WOO?!?!

???: "I'm not Sung Jin-Woo, Alice."

Oh… That sucks, I wanted to see the man himself, and maybe shake his hand… Holy shit, he can read my mind!?

???: "Yes, I can."

Alice: "S-so who are you? Where am I?"

???: "Names ROB, I'm part of an organization that specializes in resurrection of picked souls."

Alice: "S-so what happens now? Am I going to get isekai because Truck-kun did kill me, and in terms of anime logic I'm getting isekai'd right?"

ROB: "Before I answer that question, I will tell you what happened to your past life after you got killed."

ROB begins to explain what happened to me after I was unfortunately killed by Truck-kun, he said that my friends, my boyfriend, and most importantly my family were devastated about the information.

My friends were saddened that I was killed because we were friends since elementary, and I see them as unofficial non-blood related siblings that I never had. They eventually moved on with their lives.

My boyfriend was greatly affected by my death including my parents, they kept denying that I'm dead, and still believe I'm faking it or something. My boyfriend visits my grave everyday just to watch anime with me, and he knows that I'm a large weeb.

My parents entered into deep depression after my death, but they eventually moved on after my little sister was born a few months later, and my parents named her after me. I hope my little sister does have a good life.

ROB: "That's everything… I'm sorry."

I wiped the tear on my eye, before nodding.

Alice: "It's fine, it's fine. I just it's a lot of information to take in."

ROB: "Just take your time to process the information."

With that… I broke down into tears, I mean how could I not? Truck-kun fucking forced me to leave my love ones! Fucking shitty truck! I hope you get rid of some lonely junkyard!!

Right after I calmed down fully, I was given some tissues by ROB to wipe the tears dripping down the side of my face, and blow my nose too. I threw the tissue inside the trashcan near me.

ROB: "You okay now? You emptied 3 boxes of tissue."

Alice: "Yes, I'm fine now."

ROB: "Alright, about your question. I will let you choose what kind of world you wish to be Isekai'd in."

I rubbed my chin as I thought about what kind of world I should go to. There's so many anime worlds, and non-anime worlds to be in. Konosuba? Nah, I don't want to be with a useless Goddess. Any fate series… Actually nah, the Gacha is hell.

Maybe bloodborn-no… I haven't finished the game because of how hard it is to kill the bosses. Devil May Cry? Being a badass while killing demons with enough motivation? Nah, fuck, I can't think which world I want to be reincarnated or isekai'd in.

ROB: "How about the last game you played?"

The last game I played? Let's see… I think it was Azur Lane, yeah that chinese game with amazing waifus in it. I literally learned world war 2 naval, and the ships' history because of that game.

Alice: "The last game I played was Azur Lane because I was collecting the daily rewards after completing the quests."

ROB: "Azur Lane? Quite an interesting pick, I personally have played Azur Lane too since the alpha stages of the game."

Alice: "Holy shit really?!"

ROB: "Yup, I have collected every single ship, leveled them up to the max as well as equipment too. I also spent a lot of money on the game because of the skins."

Alice: "Nice."

ROB: "I will reincarnate you to Azur Lane as…"

ROB stood up from his chair, walked over to the front of the desk as he sat down on it.

ROB: "As IJN Yamato aka The Empress of the wave."

Is ROB serious right now? As Yamato?! The biggest, and the most powerful battleship to ever sail?! Although Yamato didn't really show her true potential because the age of battleships ended, and the age of aircraft carriers started.

Yamato was the perfect ship, but for the wrong war. The ship was sent on a suicide mission, but before the ship sunk it survived many attacks from the allies. That's what I remembered after reading wikipedia.

I wonder who would win, Yamato or Iowa? I'm dead soo... I guess I will never know.

Alice: "Are you serious? As Yamato? Isn't that bit overpowered?"

ROB: "Pretty much."

Alice: "Before I get isekai, is there anything else I need to know? Because of some isekai anime I watched before, the Goddess or God sometimes tricks the main character to make their lives harder while giving good entertainment for the Goddess or God?"

ROB: "Smart girl, well yes, there is something you need to know."

ROB snapped his fingers, and a holographic image of the Battleship Yamato appeared between us.

ROB: "I decided to change a few things on Yamato like the equipment because Iowa was the most dangerous enemy for Yamato. If they had met at a range from 20,000 to 30,000 meters, especially in a one on one fight and in a fine weather, Iowa would have no chance of winning. However, thanks to better radar, Iowa could fight in bad weather and at night. Powerful guns, high speed, and precise radars made Iowa a formidable adversary. If these two battleships fought each other, the victory would completely depend on the battle conditions."

This sounds very familiar, I don't know where I heard it.

Alice: "What other things did you change?"

ROB: "Added underwater torpedo launchers on the ship's sides. They are homing torps too."

Alice: "What else?"

ROB: "A more powerful engine that pushes the ship 3 knots faster."

Alice: "Bruh."

ROB: "That's everything, I will be sending you to Azur Lane and enjoy your new life."
