The truth is ..

Azalea and Atticus appear inside the church where Naomi disappeared. Atticus walked over to one of the broken pews and took a seat. He crossed his arms and legs and grinned. Azalea stood there in disbelief at what had just happened. Azalea walked towards the closed church doors and then turned back to look at Atticus.

"What is going on?" Azalea asked, still shocked at what had just happened. "My dear, I believe the term used for what just happened is teleporting, one of my many abilities as a vampire king." Azalea's jaw dropped in horror; she thought, 'is this man earnest, vampire king, abilities?'. Those were just some of the thoughts swirling around in her head. "Look, Azalea, your whole life has been nothing but a lie. Your mother told you the things happening to you were in your head, right?" He asked her. Azalea looked down and then nodded. "Your friends called you crazy; Naomi's mother, who has known you since you were a child, did not believe what you saw with your own eyes." Atticus stood up and walked towards Azalea. "Your magic is a gift. You are what is called a caster."

Azalea stepped back away from Atticus. "You have no right to tell me that my life has been a lie! You don't even know anything about me." She said fiercely. Atticus smirked, "Azalea if I did not know anything about you, how would I know that you saw your mother's future death or that the townspeople think you're crazy?" Azalea put her hand on her forehead and responded, "This is just a bit much. I need air or something." Atticus snapped his fingers, and the door to the church flew open. A fresh, cooling breeze brushed in and hit Azalea.

Azalea stood there feeling the breeze and thinking about the things Atticus had told her. She was unsure how to feel about everything said thus far. There stood this man who was a stranger to her but seemed to know so much about what was happening. It was as if he could see the future or know what would happen. Azalea did not know what to think about this situation and responded -

"If you know all this, then why tell me now?". Atticus sighed and said, "The truth is I never intended to tell you until your abilities were fully awakened; however, that being said, it has come to my attention that you are in life-threatening danger. You see, someone intends to remove your casters heart from you." Azalea, in confusion, asked, "casters heart? What is that?" Atticus pointed to Azaleas' heart and said, "If someone like another caster or vampire, for example, were to take your heart, they would then be able to steal your powers. Your heart is extraordinary, your father is a mind caster, and your mother is an earth caster that makes you a unique caster of magic."

Azalea frowned at Atticus and said, "I have never met my father, and my mother does not have any magical abilities or whatever; she would have told me." Atticus looked down at the ground and then quickly looked up at Azalea. "You need to go home now. We will talk more later!" He then waved his hand, and Azalea appeared in her bedroom again. Yelling and glass breaking was coming from downstairs. Azalea slowly opened her door, trying not to make any noise, and headed towards the stairs. Azalea peeked from the staircase, trying to see what was happening, but could not see anything. More glass shattering and screaming started to come from the kitchen.

Azalea slowly descended the stairs and saw blood in the living room and a broken vase. "Mom!" yelled Azalea. There was no response. Azalea ran into the kitchen and saw her mother lying on the floor, bleeding. Tears started to rush down Azalea's face. "Mom! Please, oh please, no." She said to herself. Azalea was about to check for a pulse when suddenly she was hit from behind and knocked to the ground beside her mother. Azalea grabbed a pan lying on the floor and rolled over to face her attacker. Looking into her attacker's eyes, Azalea knew who she was facing off against, and it would be a fight to remember.
