Chapter 24: Planning

Days passed, and the school year gradually drew to a close. Students eagerly awaited the onset of summer vacation, counting down the days until they could bid farewell to classes and homework. Charmel, on the other hand, found herself growing increasingly bored as the days ticked by.

The summer heat had taken its toll on Charmel, and she sat sprawled in the living room, eating slices of juicy watermelon to cool herself down. Sweat trickled down her forehead, and she looked at the electric fan in front of her with a mixture of relief and frustration.

"Ugh, it's so hot," she complained, fanning herself with a piece of tissue.

She took another bite of the watermelon, hoping that the sweetness of the fruit would alleviate the heat. But as she chewed, some of the juice dripped onto her shirt, adding to her already sticky predicament.

"Great... now I'm all sticky," she muttered, annoyed at the mess she had made.

She grab the her phone start texting on Group Chat

Charmbitch: It's so Hot

Leopard: yeah I agree

Kaibruh: Sorry I can't control the weather

Charmbitch: Shut up

Chikading: How about we go on beach

Chika's suggestion in the group chat about going to the beach perked up Charmel's attention. The idea of cooling off in the ocean and feeling the sea breeze on her skin sounded temptingly refreshing.

"Beach? That actually sounds like a good idea," she typed back, her fingers moving swiftly over the phone screen. "Maybe it would help us escape this insufferable heat for a while."

Kai's response popped up on the screen, his sarcastic remark eliciting a smirk from Charmel.

"Yeah, thanks for the weather control, Kai. Very helpful," she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

In the midst of planning the beach trip, Charmel suddenly paused and realization dawned upon her. She had completely forgotten to check her wallet before agreeing to the plan. She sheepishly pulled out her wallet, only to find it disappointingly empty.

"Crap," she muttered under her breath, feeling a pang of disappointment. "I'm broke."

Charmbitch: Pass

Charmel's response in the group chat drew curious glances from the others. Kai was the first to react.

Kaibruh: What do you mean, 'pass'?

Chika chimed in soon after, her text reflecting puzzlement.

Chikading: Weren't you just excited about going to the beach a moment ago? What happened?

Charmbitch: I'm broke (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠), please someone be my sponsored .

The revelation of Charmel's financial predicament was met with a mix of sympathy and slight amusement by the others in the group chat.

Kaibruh: Well, you could ask your parents for money.

Charmel rolled her eyes at the thought.

Charmbitch: Yeah, right. They'd lecture me about budgeting and responsibility. No way I'm doing that.on our beach day.

Charmel's heart sank a bit more at the thought of being left out.

Charmbitch: I know, right? But what am I supposed to do? I don't have any money.

Leo jumped in the conversation, offering a sympathetic remark.

Leopard: That sucks, Charmel. We wouldn't want you to miss out on our beach day.

Charmel's eyes widened in surprise as she read Chika's message. She couldn't believe her luck.

Charmbitch: Really? You'd do that for me?

Chikading: Of course! I hate seeing you left out.

Charmel felt a mix of relief and gratitude swell up in her chest.
