Chapter 108: The end of an Era

After exploring and killing monsters for a while, Valerius and his friends came across a castle.

The black castle stands lonely, looming over the vast meadow.

"That castle. She must be in there," said Valerius.

"But those monsters seem to surround the castle," said Verchiel.

"She must've realized we're here," Valerius grimly replied.

Suddenly, a wingless four-legged monster lunged at them.

Zivon coldly swung his sword and cut its head.

"How are we going to get through?" Verchiel wondered.

As the three are thinking of a plan, a group of Terra spaceships hovers above them. They all looked up to see angels coming down and joining their fight.

Verchiel spotted Adnachiel standing on the main ship. "Adnachiel!" he exclaimed.

"We'll take care of these monsters. Go find her!" said Adnachiel.

"Thank you," Valerius replied.

With the help of their fellow angels, the three of them rushed to the castle door. They spread their wings and fly into the castle.

"This castle is infested with monsters too," said Verchiel. He glances at Valerius.

Valerius is silent. There's a strain on his face.

"What's wrong?"

"Something feels off," said Valerius. "Where are her generals?"

The three looked around.

"So far, all we see are mindless savage monsters. But there are no generals. As a Queen, she should have a general, someone to command her army," said Valerius.

"Maybe we'll find them at the throne room," said Verchiel. "Let us make haste!"

They both nodded.

They slay all the monsters on their path and reach the throne room.

At the throne room, Axion sat patiently.

"Finally. I've been waiting, Valerius," said Axion.

"Nirina!" Valerius called.

"I've been wondering how on earth you managed to go to outer space. The last time I saw Terra, people still worshiped a man over a small fireball," she said sarcastically. "To think that you could get a hand on a spaceship. To top it off an old cybertronian spaceship."

"Merlin guided me," said Verchiel.

"Ah! Of course, Merlin just has to help you. You have always been 'the favorite child'," said Axion as she stood up from her seat.

"It's over," said Valerius. He spread his white wings and pointed his sword at Axion. "It ends now… sister."

Axion glared. "You have no right to call me that!"

She pulled out a black sword and spread her black wings.

Both Valerius and Axion lunged at each other. They both fight passionately.

Both Zivon and Verchiel spread their wings. They raise their sword and join the fight.

Three vs one, Axion might be outnumbered, but she doesn't get overpowered easily.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Terran army is still fighting an endless wave of monsters outside the castle. Suddenly, a beam shoots to the ground. Blowing everything in impact. Adnachiel looked up to see battleships coming.

TAPOPS, Astraeus, Martians, and Guruhan, all assembled and began attacking both the angels and the monsters.

"FIGHT!!!" Adnachiel yelled as he pointed his swords towards the Astros alliance.

Angels spread their wings and fly towards the Astros alliance.

"INCOMING!!!" Guruhan commander yelled.

Soon, explosions filled the battlefield. Among all the spaceships in battle, one ship excluded itself and flew towards the castle.

"Axion must be in this castle. We go straight to the throne room," said Maskmana.

"I'll map out the castle," said Rum.

"No need. I know where it is. Follow me," said Maskmana.

They all get off the ship and land on the ground. They try to make their way towards the throne room while fighting the monsters.

"Please, let us make it in time," Maskmana prayed.

In the throne room, Axion is still fighting the 3 angels. Spells and curses are cast. Each of them uses everything they have to fight.

Axion stopped for a moment. She senses a tingling.

Verchiel swung his sword at her. Axion quickly blocked it.

"Don't space out in a battle, " said Verchiel. He jumps back and Zivon jumps in. Axion parried Zivon's attack.

His gaze was cold and lifeless, piercing Axion.

Axion's heart stung. She smiled bitterly. A memory of Zivon's family flashes in her mind.

"Of course, you'd be mad, I killed your family," Axion thought to herself.

"Your grandfather, your brother-in-law, your sister, and her unborn child," Axion told herself as she exchanged swords with Zivon.

She jumps back. Voices of war filled the meadow. She looked through the window and saw her monsters fighting the Terrans and the Astro alliance.

"Do you see it now?" Valerius asked. "All this, because of you."

Axion watched the fierce battle. The tingling that she sensed before must be a sign that her friends are here. She clenched her sword.

"Let's stop all this…" said Valerius.

"And what do you want me to do?!" Axion asked. "Surrender only to be beheaded by Verchiel? Or are you going to man up and cut my head yourself, right here?"

Valerius startled. He paused, not knowing the answer.

"Your sins are too grave to be forgiven! The only verdict is death punishment. Just die and go to hell!" said Verchiel.

"Oh, I was already dead the day I left that Godforsaken kingdom," said Axion sarcastically.

She continues to battle the three angels. She parried all the attacks, used every spell she learned.

As Valerius and Zivon keep Axion busy, Verchiel prepares a spell. A powerful holy binding spell that could stop Axion's movement even just for a moment.

Verchiel slammed his hand to the floor. A bright large magic circle glows white. Axion startled. The holy magic stopped her movement for a moment.

"NOW!" Verchiel yelled.

While she was stunned, Valerius knocked down her sword. Her black sword falls to the floor.

Valerius clenched his sword and took a deep breath.

"It ends...now."

He lunged and stabbed Axion with all his might. His holy sword went through her heart.

"Farewell, sister…."
