Chapter 3

I sat down in the chair in front of him as I was told. I waited for him to start talking. And if the boss called for me then it must be big but I wasn't sure what he wanted.

" Mr cold, it has come to my attention how well you have performed and I would like to recruit you as one of our men so that you can take more quests from us." he explained

I quickly give it a thought. " I'm sorry but I cannot accept your request." I replied

He was very shocked and I'm sure he didn't think that I would refuse.

" why, I mean can you clarify your reason." he said

" well I am not looking for a permanent job to work on Quest since I'm just a high school student and I really don't have much time to do this kind of things. Today was an exception since I need a quick money." I explained so that he would understand I explained so that he would understand.

" okay Mr cold I hear you. Well if you change your mind here is my business card and give me a call." he said as he placed a business card in front of me.

" sure sir." I replied

" thank you for your cooperation Mr cold." he said as I go up

I went out of the office back to the front doors getting out of the building after receiving my reward.

~ narrator POV~

Back at the office the big boss told his workers to keep an eye on the boy.

" there's something about him that is different and quite familiar. I felt it when he was here." the boss explained to his trusted worker.

"Understood sir." The worker replied

~ Iries POV~

When I got back home I found mom in the kitchen preparing something to eat.

" hi Mom." I greeted

" hey darling. I saw your bags and I realized that you were back. When you finishing up what you were doing?"

" yes." I replied. " I'm done."

" great then. Sit down we should eat and you can tell me about your journey."

I went to the dining room and sat down on the table. Dad also came. Together we ate as I told him how my journey was. The following day was classes and I had to prepare for my class. After eating I went back to my room to do two other things to prepare for my class tomorrow and also I wanted to check on the orbs.

I opened the bag, the orbs shone a bright luminance. I took a few out and arranged them on the floor and sat in a meditation pose to cultivate. An hour later I finished cultivating and I rose and ranks, and once again I got stronger. The other homes I kept to meditate tomorrow. It'll be best if I finish them unless somebody comes and steal them.

The following days in the week I continued going to school after knocking off going to the factory then back home to cultivate. The others could actually feel my tremendous power and some of them were too that they couldn't even approach me. Something wasn't quite right though, I could feel like I was being washed and followed. I had a feeling you had to do with the people back in the organization. I didn't feel any evil intent from them yet so I assumed that they weren't that kill me or to do something bad to me so I let them be even though I didn't like being washed. I would deal with them later.

One day as I was coming back from the factory I was working in an alley going home. It was starting to get dark. As I was walking I could feel a lot of presents around me. I could literally feel the position of every person who was following me and I could feel how many they were despite the entending darkness. I decided to play dumb. I wasn't sure if I should let whatever was going to happen or I should just run out of there. I suddenly head footsteps all around me. Despite the darkness I could pinpoint exactly how many they are and where exactly they are. I pretend not to notice them until they came to my range of area in which a normal person could actually notice them. I paused when a few came to my view in front of me.

" We've finally found you. Surrender and our conflict will be peacefully resolved or resist and you will face termination." he warned

"who are you? what are you talking about?" I pretend to be surprised and scared

" we know who you are so drop the act." he said.

Did they actually find out who I am or they are throwing in precautions to test if their assumptions are true.

6...7...8...9...10 seconds pass by in silence, the only sound is the wind rustling by in the night

" I don't know what you're talking about. What is going on? What do you want?"

"Well well well, Mr cold don't act as if you don't know us. We know that you know and I assume that you were expecting us, weren't you?" came out from the Shadows speaking.

He then stood in front of me. " Mr cold you can easily cooperate are you face the consequences and we will fight you of course not forgetting to report our resistant you are and with that your face greater consequences. Which one will you choose, our way or the highway?" he said

" if this about the missions that you were requesting that I should join the organization?" I asked cuz I just didn't understand why they would keep tabs on me.

" Mr cold do you think it's that simple? We have a a lot of workers there who take on on missions. Yes I cannot deny that you are a valuable asset but we're not the desperate. You're roaming free is a threat to the nation..."

" or is it a threat to you as organization? Don't give your pathetic excuse of the nation. I know you do things for your own not for nation." I cut him off

" believe whatever you want to believe whatever floats your boat. In any way surrender now."

" I'm sorry I can't do that."

" well then you asked it for yourself. Prepare to be busted."

I released myself of any constraint that I had and rushed for to knock out all the others that were on us. I was quite quick and in a minute they were all down. I turned to that guy with a smirk on my face. It's surprised expression on his face.

" you have become stronger, I see."

I didn't reply. I waited for him to attack and then he did rushing forward towards me with a kick. In the next moment he was down, him not understanding how he's down already. He got up and attacked me again but I knocked him down once again. He couldn't understand what was happening.

" give up!" I said. " go back to where you came from and tell them that I am not one to be messed with." with the kick I moved away from him going back to my home.

I barely got any bruises and Mom or Dad couldn't notice anything that had been wrong. I couldn't understand why they were so obsessed with me, why they were so interested in me. One thing was for sure they had realized how strong I was and perhaps they were observing me as I was in the forest. If I had known I could have held back so that they shouldn't realize. But it was too late now and I have to deal with it. Well that goes for The Quiet life I wanted.

The following days I couldn't see any of them following me again. I guess they learned their lesson. One day when I was coming back from the factory the factory I saw that received a mail. I open seeing as it was addressed to me. My hands place the paper until my knuckles were white. It was a threat message, a threat to me saying if I don't surrender I will regret it.

" what should I do. In any way I have to deal with them. But how?"

I got in the house talked to my mom and dad as usual had something to eat then finished off my day.

The following day I went to school then after school I went to the factory and from the fact I went back home but what greeted me back at home was something that I never expected in my life. The fire blazing and swallowing up a house I couldn't understand why the first started and if my parents were safe. I immediately called 911 and tried to call my dad and mom but that phones were not reachable. Soon the firefighters reached and turned off the fire and then they search the house. I had told them that I couldn't reach my parents. They said that they're going to help me find them. After some of them go out from the house they were murmuring and whispering to each other. Since I could hear properly I heard on them saying they found two bodies in the house. My heart froze. I was sure there was no one in the house apart from my parents. My heart pounded. I immediately rushed over them and pushed them demanding their answers.

" sir we found two bodies in the house, we are not sure who they are so please calm down until we verify who they are. Can you perhaps come and identify them?"

I noted as they let me towards the ambulance. I unveiled one of the bags and my heart froze. All I could hear was ringing in my ears. My world around me froze and was in silence because I was looking at one of my parents and I knew that the other one was my other parent. I denied it was, I didn't want it to be like this. I quickly rushed to the other bag quickly opening it up. Tears in my eyes and I choked a sob. My parents, they were gone.

" sir, do you know who they are?"

" sir?"

" excuse me sir." someone shook me

I quickly turned to face them

" what?" I asked

" sir do you know who they are?" they asked

" yes. They are my parents." I said

The heaviness of the situation got even heavier when I mention it out loud.

I was angry, and I knew who did this. I didn't think they would reach this point to take away from me. I run, and run until I could hardly breathe anymore. I looked around and realized that I was at the Beach. I shouted and screamed to the top of my lungs. My heart grew cold. They had taken away from me what a valued most. I could care less about anybody and I knew I would never be the same again.
