AGENT SAKURA (MCU FanFic)

First of all, this is a FanFic so all credits go to the original owners except of course Yumhee, Stephan and all the parts/conversations which weren't part of the original plot. I made drastic changes from my previous published 2018-2019 (I think) fanfic. Please do comment, rate and leave reviews. Criticisms are always welcome. Both negative and positive. ---------- Ever since the day her family died, she knew...everything has changed...including herself. When she met Steve, she always felt a little afraid of him making her forget her goals. But she cannot resist the connection she feels towards him. And so she lets herself fall...slowly and deeply for him. But that's the least of her problems because after she was kidnapped, together with her stepfather, by an organization called Hydra, she embarkes on a journey plagued with blood and pain. She was finally able to escape with his stepfather and son but it resulted in catastrophic injuries in her. And with Steve's death and her son's genetical condition, she started to walk the path towards depression. This was when it all started, World War II. The making of the first Avenger and the beginning of an unlikely love story.

Chapter 38: WW III

When Yumhee woke up late at night, she felt calm and refreshed. 'Thanks to Charles I guess.' She thought. While observing her surroundings, she saw a simple dinner wrapped in a clear transparent plastic, a small pitcher of water and an empty glass waiting for her at the bedside table.

After having a late dinner, she went out to wander around the building. Her mind preoccupied, reminiscing about her memories of her adoptive father and thinking what the future might be for her and Stephan.

"Hey, you're awake." Yumhee turned around when she heard someone walking near her before the man even spoke his greeting.

"How do you feel?" Charles asked genuinely concerned.

"I feel calm actually." She laughed a little. "Thanks to you." Yumhee gave her a small smile which he returned. They sat at a bench outside but both stayed silent for a long while before Yumhee asked a question. "How was I found?" Charles explained to her the key points leading up to their discovery of her.

"I just don't understand. Moira said I was missing when they checked the place I teleported to. But you said when you checked for...uhm...mutants...you were able to locate me through the energy I was emitting. So where was I before that? When did I reappear? I'm just so confused..." Yumhee bent over and let her head drop to her hands. She had so many unanswered questions regarding the decade which she had no memory of.

"I'm so sorry. As much as I want to help, I don't have the answers you are looking for." Charles knew that her questions wouldn't be answered until the other consciousness inside of her awakens. But they didn't know when and how that would happen again.

Straightening her back while releasing a deep long sigh, she decided to just meet and reunite with her son as soon as possible. "Do you know my son's whereabouts?"

"Moira made some calls after you fell asleep. I'm sure she had prepared everything needed by now. You just have to tell her when you're ready." Charles gave her a reassuring smile.

THE NEXT DAY

All the mutants including Moira we're already eating breakfast in the dining room when Yumhee entered the room with a staff guiding her at her side. Some spared glances at her due to curiosity while some others just blatantly stared like she's a walking freak show. Then there were a couple of them who just ignored her entirely due to disgust, fear or they just don't care.

After thanking the woman who assisted her and taking her breakfast, she walked nonchalantly towards the group sticking like a sore thumb in the far left corner.

"Good morning everyone." Yumhee greeted while sitting at an empty chair beside Raven. The others reciprocated with their own greetings.

"Charles said you're ready to reunite with your son." Moira smiled at her. "And that you have some questions for me?"

"Ah! Yes." Yumhee returned her smile. "I just wanted to know what happened to my son after my father died."

"He went to Howard Stark's care as per Dr. Erskine's instruction. Of course now that you're here and alive...the custody will be automatically be transferred to you including all the possessions left behind by your adoptive father. Until the very end...Dr. Erskine believed you're alive and will return to them one day so the legalities are all covered with the help of his lawyer." Moira explained thoroughly. "I made a call to Howard Stark. He'll be here in a few hours after you give your approval."

"Thank you so much Moira. I don't know how I'll be able to repay your kindness. All of you, really, thank you." Yumhee said emotionally.

Erik interrupted the moment by bringing the most important crisis right now. "Actually...we wanted to talk to you about something." He cautiously said while eyeing Charles, telling him with just that to explain it to her.

"We know that you just awakened after a decade and is going through a lot right now...but we really, extremely, need your help."

"Is it related to the reason why you're looking for mutants or people with extraordinary abilities?" Yumhee asked attentively to which Charles nodded in affirmation.

"Klaus Schmidt?" Yumhee asked again. Erik nodded.

"He's real name is Sebastian Shaw. He became a Nazi scientist under the name Klaus Schmidt in the 1940s." Erik explained.

"Is the country under attack?" Yumhee asked seriously.

"Uhm... it's more of a war wage against the 'humans'...those without abilities." Charles replied.

Yumhee raised an eyebrow at that. "So...a third world war?" She asked, deadpanned.

"Most definitely, yes." Moira nodded her head. Everyone agreeing with Yumhee's conclusion.

Yumhee's expression remained indifferent which made everyone nervous. "Well...I do have the experience in going to a world war...and I did just say having this power makes me responsible and obligated to use it to do more good on Earth. Okay. Then what do I have to do specifically?" Everyone released a collective sigh of relief.

"As of now, you're the most powerful mutant we know. Your power can be both defensive and offensive. The variety in your abilities and the range it can be used is a big advantage for us. So what you need to do right now is practice on control. I, together with Hank, will supervise you're training. I'll be monitoring your mental and emotional stability while Hank monitors your physical well-being." Charles seriously explained. "But we do have a very limited time, so expect us to push you harder."

"I understand. Don't worry, I doubt it would be anywhere painful as the experiments I have undergone during my captivity." Yumhee laughed a little to break the serious atmosphere. "Besides...I have established an understanding with my power, so I know now what I must do for the most part." Then she reassured Charles. "If I get astray, I believe you will help the power within me to ground me."

"And we'll all help too. If you need to be put on a cage like a serious mental patient, best believe we will do it." Alex added while the rest laughed, extinguishing the serious atmosphere surrounding their group completely. Everyone went back and forth with the teasing comments for a while before they dissolve to different training groups.

I'm so sorry for the late update. I started writing this chapter right after I finished the last one but something always came up like every other paragraph I finished which made it frustrating because my train of thoughts scatters to the wind and made it harder for me to actually finish the whole chapter because I keep redoing a lot of things.

The most frustrating point is that I forgot the ideas I already had at the time I started writing this and TBH, I feel disappointed with this chapter :(
