Perfect

A golden light bloomed within a patch of isolated woods.

From the light a resplendent golden chicken with a crown of feathers appeared.

It held its beak high, and kept its chest puffed out displaying even more of its dazzling golden feathers.

Within those golden eyes, blatant disdain and contempt for all living things could be seen.

This was indeed the same chicken that had escaped Wang Hao and company, it had travelled more than a fifty miles away from where they last met.

The golden chicken walked around for a bit before finding a nice patch of ground to sit on; slowly, it cleared its mind and began to focus. From its body a dim golden light started to glow softly, within this golden light faint traces of emerald-colored specks of light could be seen.

The chicken watched the emerald light with awe.

It had to admit, this emerald light's appearance and beauty was satisfactory.

The chicken was feeling quite pleased with itself.

This was the second time it had come across one of these fluffy objects, just a week ago it had stumbled across one and noticed the unique energy coming from it. After thinking it over, it decided it would try to absorb its energy and swallowed it. However, right then that fool with the silver sword began chasing it and kept interfering with its efforts!

Why else would its awe-inspiring personage ever flee from another living being?!

Outrageous!

Thinking about the stupid human's face, the chicken swore it would get revenge!

However, who knew that it would actually come across a second one while being chased by that cheap fellow.

This was a blessing; it had already broken through from the late stage of the Nine Springs Realm to the peak stage with the energy from just one of these things.

Now that it had another it might actually break into the next realm!

Slowly the chicken focused on absorbing the emerald specks of light, as they began to enter its body the little chicken gradually felt all fatigue leavings its body. All of energy it wasted fighting that fool was being recovered at an alarming rate.

Its body was being healed!

Its qi was being purified!

And its mind was filled with an overwhelming since of peace and serenity.

Treasure!

This was a treasure!

A few hours passed and the sun had begun to set, the chicken was still lost in the emerald light.

Suddenly its ears twitched as they picked up a on faint sound.

"…dam…n…old…my pl…n!!!"

The sound was distant and seemed to be coming from…above?

Jerking up its little chicken head it looked up before its eyes began to grow wide!

A crack.

A small crack had appeared in the sky!

The sky was actually cracked like glass!

Focusing its golden eyes it suddenly noticed the source of the sound!

A child!

A human child was falling out of the crack in the sky!

The chicken shuddered before taking a second look at the emerald specks of light.

What did it eat?

It was hallucinating!

Poison?

No! That can't be right.

It knew from experience the fluffy object was a treasure! But then what else could it be?

Taking a deep breath, the chicken closed its eyes before slowly opening them again.

Still there.

Still falling.

Strange, maybe this was actually all real?

Human children just fall out of cracks in the sky now huh?

The child's screams became increasingly louder and roused the chicken from its nonsensical thoughts.

"Damn! Why did your parents raise you so well?!"

"Why must you be such a kind and decent old man?!?!"

"My plan!!!"

The young boy seemed to have no idea what was happening or that he would soon plummet to his death as he cursed out loud.

The treasure chicken continued to watch on with a strange look on its face, soon enough it noticed something odd as the young man got closer to the ground.

His eyes were closed.

How peculiar.

Was he that afraid?

The chickens interest seemed to be aroused by the strange happenings in front of it.

One hundred feet!

Fifty feet!

Twenty feet!

Just as the young child was about to hit the ground his body was suddenly surrounded in a strange bubble of blue energy, and he quickly began to lose momentum before coming to complete halt just a few inches above the rocks!

Plop!

The child dropped gently onto the ground.

The crack in the sky also began to quickly mend itself and soon enough vanished without a trace.

The chicken seeing all this simply remained in a daze, today was perhaps the strangest day of its little chicken life.

The child seemed unaware of what had transpired, as landing on the ground only served to flare up his emotions. He quickly jumped up before turning around instinctively.

"Dammit! Old man why would you…huh? I can't see!!!"

The child began to panic as he quickly stumbled backwards and fell down.

"...." The chicken stared blankly at the panicking child.

'Was he cast out for a being an idiot?'

'Just open your eyes.'

The chicken watched on as if viewing a fool.

The child seemed to have realized the same thing fairly quickly.

Slowly and with great effort his eyelids began to lift up.

'Why are my eyelids so damn heavy!' the child couldn't help but curse in his heart.

After a bit of struggle, the child's eyes opened up fully.

The chicken's ardent body shot up as its own eyes nearly popped out of its head!

It couldn't believe what it was seeing!

As the chicken was experiencing the greatest shock of its life, Li Renjie's eyes began to gradually adjust to the light. The city street he was expecting, the traffic, the old man, all of them were gone! Instead what greeted him was a snow covered and sun-drenched forest! A forest of thin and tall trees, all of them perfectly straight but leaning at all kinds of angles. Few, if any leaves could be seen on the trees, they seemed to be hibernating through the winter.

"Could it really have…?!"

Li Renjie began to tremble in excitement, he looked down at his body before suddenly freezing.

'Huh?'

'Why are my hands so little?'

'Was I always this small?'

'Have I come to world of giants?'

Li Renjie was confused but then he suddenly remembered something that made him temporarily forget about his size!

"If it really worked then maybe…." he closed his eyes before taking a deep breath and focusing his mind.

"..."

"...….."

"...….."

"Dammit! Where's my cultivation manual?!"

If he really transmigrated that means the first phase of his plan had actually worked! He should have gotten his two cheats like in the plan! Quickly he recalled what happened right before he was struck by his golden truck.

Surprised, Li Renjie took a few steps back and watched with a hint of caution.

From the golden light a resplendent golden body began to appear.

Its body was twice as large as a normal chicken and its glittering golden feathers were clearly anything but ordinary. Li Renjie's eyes froze before his body began to shake, his eyes quickly focused on the chicken. This was no ordinary chicken! This was clearly some type of magical beast!

It worked!

Yet his real excitement came from a discovery he made the moment the chicken appeared.

His left eye focused.

He could see 'it'.

His eyes were working just as he described!

As he continued to stare at the chicken, he noticed the chicken seemed to be staring back at him.

Its gaze was unnatural and seemed a bit…enamored?

The golden crown chicken was indeed unable to look away from the child or rather, his eyes.

The colored part of his eyes looked like flawless silver mirrors!

The way the light played on them made it appear as if they were glowing slightly.

They reflected back the world in all of its entirety.

Without distortion, without warping, without flaw.

Everything was reflected perfectly!

That included the chicken!

Strangely enough though, both his eyes actually had two pupils.

The chicken didn't linger on this strange quirk, instead its attention was completely drawn to the silver part of his eyes.

Perfect golden feathers.

Perfect beak structure.

Perfect posture.

Perfect.

The chicken gazed at its own reflection, unable to look away.

It had always used clear lakes and slow rivers or the occasional mirror that it stole from humans to view itself, yet none came close to reflecting its personage.

Those imperfect things could never capture perfection.

Until now!

These mirrors were perfect!

The chicken began to turn and view itself from all sorts of different angles. Its golden eyes began to glaze over as it marveled at itself.

Li Renjie was initially perplexed by its strange behavior, but after recalling his own descriptions of his eyes his face began to twitch.

'This chicken…is using me as a mirror!!!'

Just as he was about to smack this narcissistic chicken a voice that made him shudder to his core sounded in his head.
