Chapter 2

[Welcome Host] The blue box read as Stephen received a hugged his mother. Stephen all most couldn't contain his excitement at seeing it, though luckily he kept it to a smile, as jumping up in down in front of his parents may not be the best idea right now. After an hour Stephen's parents finally left, much to the joy of Stephen as it was getting kind of hard to ignore the blue box in front of him especially because it rung every minute almost driving Stephen crazy. Stephen began to examine it and after a quick look, Stephen to use.

The entire box was smooth no buttons. no sharp edges or even friction it was smooth to the touch. "How do I do anything with this," Stephen said out loud as he began to look over the little blue box. Suddenly another ding sounded in Stephen's head and the little blue box's text changed from [Welcome Host] to [ Rules and Conditions] underneath was a bunch of jumbled text. "Well, this is going to take a while," Stephen said while looking at the huge amount of text and scratching his head at the thought of how long it would take to read.

The reading took all night for Stephen as he found more and more reading as he scrolls down on the blue box. The next morning Stephen woke up from two hours of sleep and a call from his mother for breakfast. *Yawn* "Morning mom" Stephen sleepily said. "Good morning Stephen." She said finishing cooking breakfast. The kitchen emitted an aroma of fluffy eggs, cooked bacon, sausages, toast, baked beans, and mushrooms. The smell was so intoxicating it woke Stephen completely.

Stephen took his seat and decided to go over what he had learned about the system while he waited for his mother to serve. So far he knew the system had a lot of weird rules but the ones that were the most important were, 1, User is not allowed to speak about the system if broken the user may be subject to death or loss of knowledge on subjects. 2, Items from the system are only allowed to be used by the user if ignored, item will immediately disappear without refund. 3, Host must complete at least 60% of world progress to move worlds.

The last one of the bunch made Stephen excited as he could potentially travel to worlds it seemed unbelievable. The other rules were either too stupid to be real or were things Stephen couldn't be accessed by Stephen for some odd reason. Suddenly the smell of breakfast loomed back into his nose breaking him away from the system. Lost in thought Stephen didn't notice his mother put breakfast right in front of him. "Stephen are you ok need a little more sleep." His mother said worried next to him. Stephen shook his head to hungry to answer. "

"I remember when you and your older brother were little, you both would talk on and on about how when you were both older you would travel the world with each other." 'Where did this come from?' Stephen questioned to himself as his mother brought up this random topic. "Stephen I know you may not want to talk about it but I want you to know your brother still cares for you just like when you were younger it's just... different now." 'Oh, that's what this is about.' Stephen thought to himself but decided to just be quiet. "Stephen what do you want to do today, anything you, want," Charlotte said.

This is what usually happens when Stephens brother goes away for school his mother and father would take him where ever he wants for the day to get his mind off of it and be very attached to him for the rest of the week. But this time is different Stephen didn't need anything all he needed was the blue box. "I'm ok with just staying here today." He said much to his mother's surprise, "A-are you sure Stephen you can go anywhere you want no matter where." His mother said. "Yes I'm sure, now let us eat before the food gets cold." Stephen's mother was worried and happy about his sudden change.

"You know you'll have to wait for your father before we can begin to eat," Charlotte said before he could take a bite of the amazing food in front of him, Stephens mother could have easily been a Chief if she wanted the food she cooks is like no other especially not those made by magic but because she always loved to paint she became an artist. Even if she could make more money she would just say 'seeing my paintings come to life is worth more than all of the money in the world.' Stephen was about to break with his mouth watering at the anticipation of the first bite.

After a while, Stephen's father finally walked into the kitchen seeing his wife and son waiting for him. "*Yawn* Good morning." His father said with a good stretch, "Good morning Clark." His mother said as he sat down, "Morning dad," Stephen said as he got a good morning in return. The family began to eat breakfast and all was peaceful, calm it was moments like these Stephen enjoyed just being with family....until Stephen's dad tried to sneak a sausage from his plate, luckily for Stephen he caught it just in time. "Come on Stephen can't you let me have this?" His father asked trying to move the sausage to him.

"No actually I can't I'm a growing boy and need to eat." Stephen sarcastically said pulling the sausage back, "Well I have a job and need my strength to support your growth." His father said pulling the sausage to him. "Not my problem," Stephen said as the tug of war continued and Stephen's mother just continued to eat as if it were a normal thing. Suddenly a letter flew through the door and giving Stephens dad a chance to grab and eat the sausage, much to Stephen's dismay. "Whose it from." His father said in-between chewing. "I don't know but they cost me a sausage," Stephen said.

Picking it up and looking at it the Letter had come from Noah, "Here read what it says." With no hesitation, Stephen ripped open the letter despite how Stephen had seen Noah off he still awaits a letter from his older brother. Grabbing the letter Stephen began to read it out loud, "Hello Mom, Dad, and Stephen I hope you all are doing great, the first day back to school was just as enjoyable as the rest so you don't have to worry about me, oh and guess what I saw the famous Harry Potter you wouldn't believe it anyway I hope you all are doing well and I'll write more when I get the chance. P.S I left a book in my rush to pack could you please send it back to me it should be on my bed, bye."

"Wow harry potter goes to Hogwarts," Stephen said looking at the letter his Noah sent, though his parents however seemed less interested. "Stephen, could you go get that book and bring it downstairs to mail?" Stephen's mother said. "Sure," Stephen began to walk up the stairs to his brother's room which was just as his brother had left it....a total mess there were tons of book scattered across the floor, notes and random bits of paper on the ground, and pictures of Noah and his girlfriend on the desks. 'Honestly its a wonder he even knows where to find anything in here.' Stephen thought to himself looking at the mess room.

Stephen examined the bed for a while sifting through anything he could finally see a book labeled "Flesh-Eating Trees of the World," though as he touched it Stephen felt the book pulling him in as if attaching to his skin. "Arg." Stephen wanted to scream but found a way, not too as the System appeared [Extracting Knowledge 10% done].

The sucking feeling from Stephen's hand continued as did the dinging noise from the system every 10 percent till eventually it had reached 100% and the sucking motion suddenly stopped. *ha*ha* "It's....*ha* finally over," Stephen said painfully as he fell to the floor, but happy to be finished but the fates had other plans and a head-splitting headache befell upon Stephen leaving him no choice but to scream. *ARGGG* "Stephen are you ok?" his mother yelled out from the kitchen but a thud answered her before Stephen swiftly passed out.
