Tóm tắt

The bloodline, a legacy shrouded in mystery, has been unearthed by humanity. These beings, human in every way, are nonetheless branded as monsters by the world around them. Amidst this turmoil, a young girl, blissfully unaware of her extraordinary heritage, finds herself enveloped in danger when the FBI sets their sights on her and her family. As she grapples with the stark reality of her existence, she embarks on a treacherous journey filled with peril and self-discovery. In a society that ostracizes her kind, she must learn to navigate the shadows in search of the truth about her origins. Along her path, she encounters a diverse cast of allies and adversaries—some who wish to help her, and others who aim to dismantle her efforts. As she delves deeper into this hidden world, she uncovers the existence of other mysterious species that lurk in the dark, concealed from the prying eyes of humans. With her newfound knowledge, she confronts an immense challenge: can she rise to become a beacon of hope for both her kind and humanity? Will she succeed in fostering coexistence between these worlds, or will she find her sisters and brothers seeking their own isolated sanctuary away from the watchful gaze of mankind? The fate of both species hangs in the balance, resting in her hands.

Chapter 1Prologue

The little girl tossed aside her soft, cozy covers, revealing her bright yellow ducky pajamas, adorned with cheerful little quackers that flapped in delight. Today was a momentous occasion—she was officially turning six years old! Bursting with excitement, she leapt out of bed, her heart racing as she darted to the window. Peering through the glass, she was greeted by a magical landscape blanketed in fluffy white snowflakes gently falling from the gray sky, a sure sign of good luck for her special day.

A wide grin spread across her face, illuminating her cheeks as she scampered down the hallway with her tiny feet pattering against the wooden floor. She bounded onto her parents' bed, catching them off guard as they stirred from their slumber. Laughter erupted in the room, filled with warmth and joy, as her parents playfully invaded her space with tickles, igniting a deliciously playful chaos.

After the tickle session, the trio ventured downstairs, their laughter echoing through the home. They gathered in the kitchen, where the little girl eagerly took the wooden spoon in her hand, stirring the pancake mix. A mischievous splash sent a dollop of batter flying onto her cheek, and she giggled, her eyes sparkling with delight. Together, they cooked breakfast, sharing smiles and stories, revelling in the simple pleasure of each other's company as they savored their meal.

Once breakfast was done, the snowy wonderland beckoned them outside. They erupted into a lively snowball fight, their laughter mixing with the crisp winter air as they expertly balled up the powdery snow and tossed it playfully at one another. With gleeful shouts, they began building a snowman, skillfully stacking the snow with teamwork and creativity. The little girl crafted her own mini snow person, perfectly proportioned to her height, complete with a charming scarf and a snug hat perched atop its head, capturing the essence of their joyful family day in the snow.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow around the house, the family of three made their way inside. They noticed their daughter, her small frame shivering slightly, coughing softly while rubbing her tiny hands together in an attempt to keep warm. As they entered the cozy living room, the smell of the extinguished candles lingered in the air. The little girl took a seat at the small wooden table, her eyes wide with anticipation as she watched her father carefully light the candle shaped like the number six, its flickering flame dancing merrily.

"Good luck, dear," her father said, his voice filled with warmth as he leaned down to gently pat her on the back, his hand a reassuring weight.

"Make a wish, baby girl," her mother added, her smile soft and encouraging, eyes sparkling with love as she watched her daughter's excitement.

Just as she prepared to blow out the flames, a thought rushed through the little girl's mind. She realized, with a surge of urgency, that she had left her beloved birthday hat upstairs in the closet. This hat had become a cherished tradition, a symbol of celebration that made every birthday truly special.

"I need to get my hat! It won't be the same without it!" she exclaimed, her voice bubbling with urgency as she shot up from her chair. Without waiting for a response, she dashed up the staircase, her small feet barely making a sound on the wooden steps.

In her room, she flung open her closet door, searching through the colorful array of clothes, her heart racing with excitement and determination. After a few moments of frantic rummaging, she finally spotted the familiar hat, its vibrant colors beckoning to her like a long-lost friend.

With a triumphant grin, she placed the hat atop her head, feeling its familiar weight settle snugly. Just then, a loud cheer erupted from downstairs, causing her heart to skip a beat.

"I hope they didn't start without me!" she thought, her anticipation bubbling over as she hurried back down to join her family and the festivities.

As she made her way down the creaking staircase, the little girl's small feet whispered against the polished wood, but the buzz of voices from the living room grew louder with each step she took. Curiosity fluttered in her chest; she hadn't realized there were guests in the house. When she reached the final step, a chill ran down her spine as she heard her mother's voice cut through the chatter. "She was not supposed to be born." The words echoed in her mind, heavy and ominous.

In that moment, everything felt like it was unraveling. Confusion wrapped around her like a dark cloak, and uncertainty gnawed at her heart. Tears began to trickle down her cheeks, hot and salty, as she looked up at the faces of her parents with a heart full of questioning. "Why?" she managed to ask, her voice trembling, a mix of bewilderment and fear.

Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all.
