The match between Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers kicked off with Aguero passing the ball to Silva. The Spanish playmaker quickly returned it, and Aguero sent the ball back to the defensive line.
Mangala received the ball and executed a progressive forward pass to Fernandinho. The Brazilian paused briefly, scanning his teammates' positions before dribbling forward and delivering a soft touch to the right flank.
Zabaleta burst forward like a bullet, advancing with the ball. A quick exchange with David Silva dismantled QPR's flank defense. Spotting space, Zabaleta delivered a precise cross to the far post, targeting Milner, who surged into the penalty area.
"Zabaleta crosses to the left! Milner shoots!" Jon Champion exclaimed, his voice rising in excitement.
"Oh, what a save from Robert Green!" Steve McManaman Impressed.
The attack wasn't over. City kept the pressure high, relentlessly pushing QPR back.
In the fourth minute, City won a corner after Kolarov's cross was blocked by Matthew Phillips. David Silva aimed for Mangala at the far post, but Richard Dunne won the aerial duel. Unfortunately for QPR, Dunne's header fell to Aguero inside the box.
"Goaaal! A clinical finish from Aguero!" Champion declared as the Etihad erupted.
"What a start for Manchester City!" McManaman chimed in enthusiastically.
"They've come out firing on all cylinders, and that's a brilliant strike."
The goal ignited the Etihad Stadium as City continued their relentless bombardment. In the ninth minute, Kenneth dribbled to the left and passed to Milner, who held the ball briefly before releasing it to Kolarov. The Serbian charged to the edge of the box and sent a low cross targeting Aguero.
Clint Hill intercepted the ball, clearing it outside the box. Mangala headed it forward to Fernando, who passed to Kenneth. Kenneth deftly flicked the ball upward, spun 180 degrees, and controlled it with his chest.
The skill left Joey Barton off balance, creating space near the penalty area. Kenneth chipped the ball to the right side, where Silva broke free from the offside trap. Silva squared it to Aguero, who darted past the defenders and slotted the ball home.
"A brilliant pass by Kenneth," Champion commented.
"A perfectly timed run by Silva, and a flawless finish from Aguero!"
"Two goals in under ten minutes—Manchester City are unstoppable!" McManaman added with admiration.
Chris Ramsey, QPR's manager since February, shouted instructions to refocus his players. The second goal seemed to rally QPR, who became more disciplined and patient. They created a few counterattack opportunities, but their long-range efforts lacked accuracy.
In the 24th minute, Fernandinho dispossessed Leroy Fer and launched a long pass to Milner. Tracking back, Milner controlled the ball with the inside of his foot, but Matthew Phillips was quick to pressure him. Milner passed to Kenneth, who shielded the ball from Karl Henry before playing a through ball to Kolarov.
Kolarov surged past Phillips and drove into the box, exchanging a slick one-two with Kenneth to bypass Clint Hill. With Aguero tightly marked by Dunne and Caulker, Kolarov crossed to Silva on the right edge of the area. Silva unleashed a volley toward the near post, leaving Robert Green helpless.
"For the third time, City breach the defense!" Champion shouted.
"Silva's technique was just sublime there," McManaman praised.
The match continued, with QPR already trailing 3-0 and having abandoned any hopes of a comeback. Their only goal now was to avoid conceding too many more.
In the following minutes, QPR's defense seemed to improve, successfully thwarting several of Manchester City's attempts.
However, Kenneth Lee's brilliance soon broke their resistance, leading to QPR conceding a fourth goal.
Manchester City's fourth goal in the 37th minute was a moment of pure genius from Kenneth Lee. The young midfielder received the ball near the halfway line after a quick one-two with David Silva.
As Joey Barton charged toward him, Kenneth feinted to the right before swiftly shifting the ball to his left, leaving Barton off balance and stumbling.
With space opening ahead, Kenneth accelerated, his low center of gravity enabling him to weave past Karl Henry. When Henry lunged for the ball, Kenneth performed a precise step-over, followed by a sudden burst of speed, effortlessly gliding past the midfielder.
The crowd at the Etihad rose to their feet as Kenneth advanced toward the penalty area, where Richard Dunne awaited.
Dunne stood firm, trying to block Kenneth's path, but Kenneth outclassed him with a quick Cruyff turn, sharply cutting the ball back to his left foot. Dunne, caught flat-footed, could only watch as Kenneth surged past him. Now one-on-one with goalkeeper Robert Green, Kenneth showed no hesitation.
As Green rushed forward to narrow the angle, Kenneth faked a powerful shot, forcing the keeper to dive early. With surgical precision, Kenneth tapped the ball around Green, calmly sidestepping him and rolling it into the empty net.
The Etihad erupted, fans roaring in celebration of Kenneth's composure and artistry. The goal was a masterpiece that highlighted not just his technical brilliance but also his unshakable confidence under pressure.
Jon Champion was left in awe of Kenneth's performance, describing it as a fatal blow to QPR.
"It's the end for QPR! Unless they turn into the 2002 Brazil team, there's no way they can catch up with Manchester City now."
"This goal is at a Puskás level! I didn't expect to see something like this—not from Lionel Messi, but from a 16-year-old, Kenneth Lee. What a player!" Steve McManaman praised Kenneth without hesitation.
Manchester City's relentless performance didn't stop at halftime; they carried their dominance into the second half.
In the 50th minute, Kenneth delivered a stunning trivela assist to Aguero, who completed his hat-trick with that goal.
Five minutes later, Aguero was substituted for Edin Dzeko.
It didn't take long for Dzeko to make his mark. From a corner, Dzeko capitalized on David Silva's cross, heading the ball into Robert Green's net.
Manchester City 6-0 QPR.
In the 69th minute, Kenneth added to the scoreline with a long-range strike. After the goal, he was substituted for Navas.
Eight minutes later, Kolarov sent in a floating cross, which Dzeko headed down toward Silva. David Silva smashed Dzeko's header into the net.
In the 90th minute, Yaya Toure completed the demolition with a stunning free-kick goal.
9-0.
The scoreline shone brightly on the scoreboard, and City fans cheered ecstatically, still energized after witnessing their team's incredible performance.
At the end of the match, Jon Champion remarked, "What an extraordinary performance. I think Manchester City will win their remaining games. Chelsea have a tough task ahead against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. If they fail, there's no doubt City will clinch the league title."
Steve McManaman, a former City player, shared his thoughts on the team this season.
"It's really hard to believe. City seemed to struggle earlier in the season, yet now they're as close as Chelsea to the title. Their performances, especially since December, have been outstanding."
Hope City back to the track in the new years.
