The old man quickly recovered from his initial shock, his warm smile returning. "Well then, bring her along! The more, the merrier," he said enthusiastically.

Her innocent plea melted Alice's resolve, and with a soft sigh, she nodded. "Alright, we'll come."

The old man clapped his hands together in delight. "Splendid! You won't regret it."

Alice quickly informed the temporary caregiver to delay her visit until tomorrow, explaining the change in plans. Once that was settled, she dressed Emily in a cute floral dress and changed into something simple yet elegant herself, a black blouse paired with fitted slacks.

The mother-daughter duo looked presentable but not overly formal.
