With a time skip, the adult tournament had concluded, leaving the arena buzzing with energy.
In the midst of the chaos, Kibito urged Gohan, "You need to transform into a Super Saiyan now!"
Gohan nodded, determination shining in his eyes. The Supreme Kai interjected, "But be warned, once you transform, Spopovich and Yamu will attack. No one should help you; they're after your energy."
Gohan took a deep breath. "There's a level beyond Super Saiyan," he replied, showcasing his transformation into Super Saiyan 2. A surge of power emanated from him, drawing gasps from the audience.
Spopovich and Yamu exchanged glances, realization dawning that Gohan was the one they sought. The crowd, now recognizing Gohan as both the Great Saiyaman and the Gold Fighter, murmured in shock, recalling the child who fought valiantly during the Cell Games.
Without warning, Spopovich and Yamu dashed into the ring, but the Supreme Kai quickly immobilized Gohan with telekinesis.
"They're going to drain your energy!" he warned as Spopovich and Yamu approached with a strange vacuum-like device.
As they siphoned Gohan's energy, the audience was left in stunned silence. Once they finished, Spopovich and Yamu vanished, leaving confusion and fear in their wake.
The Supreme Kai turned to leave, and Goku instinctively knew he had to follow. "I'll go with you," he said, determination etched on his face.
Videl rushed to Gohan's side, concern evident. "Gohan!" she shouted, ready to help him. Krillin chimed in, "I'm coming too, but I need to tell Android 18 first!"
Vegeta, arms crossed, glared at Goku. "So you're just going to run away from our match?" he accused, frustration boiling over.
"I promise I'll fight you when I get back," Goku assured him.
Vegeta scoffed, "I entered this tournament to face you. You only have 24 hours on Earth, and you think you can just leave?"
Goku shrugged, "Maybe you should come with us, just in case."
Reluctantly, Vegeta agreed. The group Goku, Krillin, Piccolo, Vegeta, and the Supreme Kai set off in pursuit of the fleeing foes.
Meanwhile, Kibito approached Gohan, kneeling beside him. "I can heal you," he said, his hands glowing. Gohan felt his energy return, revitalizing him.
Videl watched in awe as Gohan regained his strength, realizing this was the first time Mr. Satan had seen her flying. "What just happened?" he asked, eyes wide.
"The tournament is ruined," Videl replied, looking up at the chaos around them.
The Supreme Kai looked at Goku and the others, urgency in his voice. "I appreciate your willingness to help, but this is something you must not involve yourselves in."
Goku, confused, pressed on. "But we want to help you defeat Yamu and Spopovich. They're dangerous!"
The Supreme Kai shook his head. "No, it's far more complex than that. Long ago, there was an evil wizard named Bibidi who created a demon called Majin Buu. Bibidi was powerful enough to nearly destroy the entire universe and killed four out of five Supreme Kais, each a thousand times stronger than Frieza."
Goku, Krillin, and Vegeta exchanged worried glances as the Supreme Kai continued.
"Bibidi lost control of Majin Buu and sealed him inside a Sealed Ball. This ball was brought to Earth, intended to be Buu's next target. It still remains here."
Kibito stepped forward, now sharing the same story with Gohan and Videl as they listened intently. "The ball was never destroyed because it was thought that only Bibidi could perform the counter-spell to release Buu. However, we recently discovered that Bibidi had a son. His name is Babidi, and he is here on Earth with the purpose of reviving Majin Buu to continue where his father left off."
Gohan's eyes widened. "So Babidi is the one controlling Yamu and Spopovich?"
"Exactly," Kibito confirmed. "If he succeeds in resurrecting Majin Buu, the consequences would be catastrophic."
Videl's expression hardened. "What can we do to stop him?"
The Supreme Kai looked serious. "We need to prevent Babidi from collecting energy to awaken Buu. The more energy he gathers, the stronger his resurrection spell will become."
Goku nodded, determination returning. "Then let's find Babidi before it's too late."
Vegeta crossed his arms, a determined glint in his eyes. "And if we encounter Yamu and Spopovich again, they won't escape this time."
Kibito addressed Gohan and Videl. "We need your strength as well. You may not realize it yet, but you can help turn the tide against Babidi's forces."
The group exchanged glances, united in their resolve. The stakes were higher than ever, and they were determined to protect Earth from the evil that threatened to rise once more. With newfound urgency, they prepared to track down Babidi and stop his sinister plans before it was too late.
As the Dragon Team followed Spopovich and Yamu, Gohan and Kibito remained with Videl. However, Videl soon decided to turn back. "I can't keep up, Gohan. I'm too tired from flying and I feel weak," she admitted, a hint of disappointment in her voice.
Gohan frowned but understood. "Just head back to the arena. And please tell Chi-Chi and Goten what's going on."
Videl nodded, her expression softening. "I will. You know… it's incredible to learn you were the true hero who defeated Cell, not my dad."
Gohan sighed, guilt washing over him. "I'm sorry for lying to you. I just wanted to protect you."
Videl smiled, encouragement shining in her eyes. "Just be a hero again, Gohan. I'll be waiting for you."
With a final nod, Videl turned back toward the arena, leaving Gohan feeling a mix of pride and responsibility.
Meanwhile, back at the tournament, the audience grew increasingly restless, tired of waiting for the next fight. They began throwing tin cans at the tournament officials and the World Tournament Announcer, their impatience palpable.
Gohan and Kibito soon caught up with the rest of the Z Fighters, who were hiding behind a cliff, watching Babidi's spaceship. Suddenly, a fighter named Pui Pui emerged from the ship, greeting Yamu and Spopovich. "Babidi is pleased with your work," he said smugly.
As they observed, two figures stepped out of the ship: Babidi and Dabura. The atmosphere turned tense as Babidi reveled in his power. He quickly demonstrated his ruthlessness by draining Spopovich's energy and violently killing him to show his appreciation.
Pui Pui received orders to deal with the fleeing Yamu. The Z Fighters exchanged uneasy glances, realizing the stakes had risen drastically.
"He's really dangerous," Gohan whispered, watching Babidi and Dabura.
As Babidi spoke of luring the Z Fighters into his ship to steal their energy, he mentioned wanting to spare the Supreme Kai for his own amusement.
Suddenly, Vegeta shouted, "HE KNOWS WE'RE HERE!" just as Dabura, sensing their presence, launched himself toward the Z Fighters. Without hesitation, he fired an Evil Impulse at Kibito from point-blank range, killing him instantly.
"NO!" Gohan shouted, horrified.
Goku and Vegeta reacted quickly, throwing swipes at Dabura, but he was too powerful. In a show of cruel efficiency, Dabura spat on Krillin and Piccolo, instantly turning them to stone.
"Get back!" Gohan yelled, his heart racing as Dabura retreated to the spaceship, leaving chaos in his wake.
On the cliff, Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and the Supreme Kai stood ready, their determination hardening as they prepared to confront the imminent threat.
Back at the World Martial Arts Tournament, the crowd continued to grow restless, their impatience a stark contrast to the intense danger unfolding elsewhere. They were unaware that the true fight for their planet had already begun.
As the tension mounted inside Babidi's spaceship, Supreme Kai warned Goku urgently, "If you touch Krillin or Piccolo while they're stone, they will break, and there will be no way to revive them." He emphasized that the only way to restore them was to defeat Dabura.
Goku and Gohan, undeterred, began their journey toward the ship, but Supreme Kai insisted, "You're walking into a trap!" Just then, Vegeta, driven by his desire for a fight, followed the father-son duo, while Supreme Kai reluctantly made his way behind them.
Upon arriving, the Supreme Kai explained that they couldn't leave the ship until Babidi was defeated. Vegeta, impatient, proposed destroying the ship outright, but Supreme Kai shouted, "Any sudden shock could awaken Majin Buu!"
Inside, Babidi continued his sinister work, injecting Gohan's energy into the Sealed Ball containing Majin Buu. Just then, Pui Pui entered the room where Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan were gathered. He announced that they would need to defeat a warrior on each level of Babidi's spaceship, prompting Goku to inquire who would fight first.
As Babidi finished his injection, he, Dabura, and a shadowy figure observed the proceedings through a Crystal Ball. Meanwhile, to everyone's astonishment, Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta were playing Rock-Paper-Scissors to decide who would fight first. Vegeta won and stepped up to face Pui Pui.
Supreme Kai watched anxiously, disapproving of the lightheartedness surrounding the fight. As Vegeta and Pui Pui squared off, tension filled the air.
Inside the spaceship, Vegeta declared that Pui Pui was no match for him, but Pui Pui dismissed him as bluffing. As they began to fight, Pui Pui launched a kick, which Vegeta blocked easily. He followed with a series of punches, but Vegeta dodged effortlessly. Suddenly, Babidi changed the room's environment to Zoon, Pui Pui's home planet, increasing the gravity to ten times that of Earth.
Pui Pui smirked, believing this would give him the advantage. Vegeta, unimpressed, remarked, "You'd have an advantage at 500x gravity, but at this level? I can't even feel the difference." As Pui Pui rushed in, Vegeta simply kicked him away.
As Pui Pui tried again, Vegeta deftly moved aside, leaving Pui Pui stunned. "Still think I'm bluffing?" Vegeta taunted before unleashing his Double Galick Cannon, obliterating Pui Pui. The door to the next stage opened, signifying Vegeta's victory.
Meanwhile, outside the spaceship, Piccolo and Krillin remained frozen in stone. The Energy Meter inside was now half-full, and a hulking green monster named Yakon emerged to challenge Goku. Goku teased Yakon, igniting the creature's anger. Supreme Kai warned them, "Yakon is one of the most feared beings in the universe; he's very strong."
As the fight commenced, Babidi instructed Yakon to collect energy from Goku. Yakon slashed at Goku, but Goku dodged easily, floating above him. Yakon followed, ramping up his assault, but Goku evaded every strike with agility. In an attempt to gain ground, Yakon charged, managing to slice part of Goku's gi off.
Babidi then teleported them to a dark area, where Dabura questioned the need for assistance against Goku. Babidi, however, insisted that he did not want to awaken Majin Buu until he could do so with full power. The atmosphere grew more ominous, and the stakes escalated as the battle unfolded. Goku prepared himself, ready to confront the formidable Yakon head-on.
After being teleported to the dark area, Goku stumbled over a rock, exclaiming, "I can't see anything!" Supreme Kai quickly explained, "This is Dark Star, the farthest end of the universe where no light exists."
Yakon, lurking in the shadows, taunted Goku, stating, "You may not see me, but I can see you!" He launched a series of attacks, but Goku evaded them effortlessly. Goku then explained, "I can sense your movements!" With that, he transformed into Super Saiyan, illuminating the darkness around him.
Babidi, surprised by the transformation, noted Goku's power level on his Energy Meter—3,000 kilis. Dabura, astonished, remarked that 300 kilis was enough energy to destroy a planet, adding that Yakon, with only 800 kilis, was doomed. As Yakon began to absorb the light from Goku's Super Saiyan form, Goku felt his energy being drained, forcing him back to his normal state. Yakon revealed, "I eat light and use it for my energy."
Determined, Goku transformed back into Super Saiyan, but Yakon immediately started to absorb the energy again. Babidi warned that Yakon was wasting the energy meant for awakening Majin Buu. The other fighters shouted that Goku was squandering his power, yet he continued to power up, testing Yakon's limits.
Eventually, Yakon overdid it in his energy absorption. Goku then gave a glimpse of his Super Saiyan 2 form, unleashing an overwhelming surge of energy that caused Yakon to explode. Gohan cheered, "You defeated Yakon!" To which Vegeta replied, "With energy to spare." They were then teleported back to the spaceship as the next door opened, signaling Gohan's turn to fight.
Supreme Kai suggested they all fight together, but Goku countered, saying it wouldn't be fair since he and Vegeta had fought alone. Dabura, aware of the Dragon Team getting closer to Majin Buu, headed to the Meditation room to focus his power.
As Gohan powered up to Super Saiyan, the battle against Dabura began. At first, Gohan dominated, showcasing his strength. However, Dabura powered up and fought back, leading to an intense exchange. Dabura unleashed his Evil Flame attack, which Gohan deftly dodged. But when Dabura used his Afterimage Sorcery, he struck Gohan with an Evil Impulse, sending him crashing into the water.
Back in the spaceship, Babidi assumed Gohan was dead. Emerging from the water, Gohan charged up two energy spheres and hurled them at Dabura. But Dabura easily kicked them away and hit Gohan again with another Evil Impulse, shredding his Great Saiyaman suit down to his black tights. "Is this the power of a Super Saiyan?" Dabura questioned as they clashed once more.
Goku observed, "Gohan should know better than to go for a direct attack." Vegeta added, "That's what happens when you don't train for five years," acknowledging Gohan's return to training with Goten.
Dabura attempted to spit on Gohan, but just then, Goten and Trunks flew toward Babidi's spaceship. Goten, aware of the events from his past life, was anxious about the unfolding battle.
As the fight continued, Dabura started gaining the upper hand. However, Gohan, seeing Vegeta, found new resolve and delivered a powerful punch that sent Dabura flying. Recovering quickly, Dabura conjured a sword and prepared to strike Gohan, narrowly missing and only taking a few locks of hair.
In a fierce struggle, Gohan ultimately grasped Dabura's sword, and after wrestling for control, he broke it in half, tossing the pieces aside. The battle escalated, and both warriors prepared for the next phase of their confrontation.
As the fight continued, Vegeta's frustration reached a boiling point. He watched Gohan struggle against Dabura, his patience wearing thin. "Why are we subjecting ourselves to this ridiculous embarrassment?" he shouted, his voice dripping with disdain. "Gohan should stop the fight. I'd handle Dabura easily!"
Goku tried to calm him down, but Vegeta wouldn't hear it. "I didn't come to the World Martial Arts Tournament to make 'nice father-son memories'! I came to fight you!"
Dabura, intrigued by Vegeta's outburst, recognized the darkness in his heart. "This Saiyan has evil within him," he thought, realizing he could manipulate Vegeta for Babidi's gain. He announced to the Z Fighters that he needed to consult Babidi about a "new recruit" and vanished into the spaceship.
Goku, Gohan, and Supreme Kai were left perplexed. "What did he mean by a new recruit?" Goku pondered aloud. Meanwhile, Vegeta was seething with rage. He began to berate Gohan harshly. "You call yourself a Saiyan? You're weak! You should've beaten Dabura by now!"
Gohan felt the weight of Vegeta's words. Goku attempted to defend him, but Vegeta turned his anger towards Goku, blaming him for making Gohan soft. "If I had fought Dabura, I would have killed him easily, and Piccolo and Krillin would be fine!"
Frustrated, Vegeta prepared to obliterate the ship. Shin intervened, desperately warning, "If you destroy this ship, you'll release enough energy to awaken Majin Buu!" Vegeta scoffed, dismissing the Kai's concerns. "I don't care about Earth or its people!" he declared, launching into a tirade about survival of the fittest.
With tension escalating, Goku stepped in, grabbing Vegeta's hand and stopping him just in time. "Enough, Vegeta! Stop!" he ordered. Vegeta, begrudgingly, relented. But Supreme Kai's face turned pale with realization—Vegeta was the "new recruit" Dabura referred to.
Meanwhile, Babidi sensed the darkness in Vegeta's heart and targeted him for mind control. As Babidi's influence crept into Vegeta's mind, he screamed in agony, shouting that something was attacking him from within. "I can't see anything!" he gasped, transforming into a Super Saiyan in desperation.
Shin urged Vegeta to resist, explaining that Babidi was attempting to enslave him. The others joined in, encouraging Vegeta to fight back. "Don't give in!" Gohan shouted, worried for his friend. Supreme Kai clarified, "Babidi is trying to take over Vegeta's mind!"
Vegeta screamed, a red aura enveloping him as he struggled against Babidi's control. For a moment, it seemed like he might break free as he sank to his knees, panting. But then, the aura intensified, and the Majin symbol appeared on his forehead. "It's too late," Shin warned, realizing that Vegeta was now under Babidi's control.
With Vegeta fully ensnared, Babidi warped them all to the World Martial Arts Tournament arena, where the audience was still celebrating Mr. Satan's victory. The announcer informed them that the match was over, but there would always be next year.
In an instant, they appeared in the ring, shocking Chi-Chi, Bulma, and everyone else present. Without hesitation, Majin Vegeta unleashed a powerful blast, destroying a large section of the stadium and causing chaos. The crowd gasped in horror, and Bulma fainted at the sight of the destruction.
Goku, filled with disbelief and anger, exclaimed, "The Vegeta I knew would never do this!" As they readied for battle, the spectators in the stands were left confused and terrified, witnessing the rebirth of an enemy. After years of camaraderie, Vegeta stood once again as Goku's mortal foe.
