Darrach shifted a little bit, making a grumpy noise. His little hooves wiggled at her. It was the most adorable thing.
She softened and rubbed her thumb at Darrach's ear. "Sorry baby...go to sleep." She pet at him more gently.
The carriage jostled and shook as it rolled, the horses' hooves hitting the stone pathway beneath. She didn't look up towards her husband.
Not until she felt those red eyes staring.
When she looked up at him, Donncahd was leaning against the wall, looking at her.
His stare was flat. The same as always. But...
There was a certain...sharpness in those ruby eyes that made her shiver, but not out of the familiar fear that normally came when she felt the pressure of Donncahd's gaze.
