Ch61.2; Chaos

The three demonic cultivators wreaked havoc as they moved in separate directions—east, west, and north.

Each path they took left nothing but destruction in their way. Houses were set on fire or broken down by vicious wind spells, flame spells– the flames consuming everything in sight.

Some homes exploded as fireballs slammed into them. The screams of the people trapped inside echoed through the streets as they burned alive or were cut by the strong winds.

Due to the city's size and low population, the majority of its citizens lived in big homes with large yards.

These buildings were now nothing more than rubble. Their walls were broken or burnt, and roofs collapsed.

The result of violent fire & wind spells covered the interiors of these houses. The streets were ominously quiet and only the sound of burning wood or the occasional cry or screams could be heard, and the air was heavy with smoke.

---

One such home had a family hiding in the corner of their big living room, huddled together in terror.

Holding his wife and kids close, the father leaned his back against the wall, his heart racing. In an attempt to protect themselves from the horror outside, they had shut the doors.

However, a blast of fire ripped through their home's front wall, shattering their hope. In a moment, the room was swallowed up by the flames.

In an attempt to protect his kids from the ball of flames, the father came in front of the blast, but it was too late. The fire devoured everything in its path, both children and father got burned to the death.

The mother tried to crawl toward her children while screaming in pain as fire burned her alive.

Their once peaceful home was transformed into a flaming tomb.

---

Somewhere in the city, a little boy and his sister had been hiding underneath their bed, their hearts racing. Outside, the sound of destruction could be heard—the loud roar of buildings crumbling and people screaming for help.

Their father had ordered them to keep quiet at all costs and had gone into another room to hide. Suddenly, a burst of wind blew through their room's wall, causing debris to fly everywhere.

The air was heavy with dust, and before the kids could respond, a demonic cultivator stepped through the doorway.

He moved forward with a powerful and ominous aura, his eyes shining under his mask.

Without saying a word, the demonic cultivator reached beneath the bed and gripped his fingers like a chain around the boy's arm. With no more effort than if he had been grabbing a doll, the kid yelled in fear as he was pulled out.

The sister shouted, her hands desperately grabbing her brother's other arm, but the cultivator's enormous strength exceeded hers.

The boy's tiny legs kicked uselessly as he was lifted into the air, tears running down his face. He screamed, "Sister!" in a terrified voice.

However, as the cultivator raised the boy and examined him for a sign of spiritual roots, his eyes were filled with cold.

*Worthless.*

The cultivator flicked his wrist and threw the child away like a piece of garbage. The room was filled with the sound of bones cracking as the child's body passed through the air and struck the wall with a horrible bang.

His tiny body collapsed on the ground, eyes wide but empty, his life swiftly gone. From the corner of his mouth, blood dripped and collected beneath his silent body.

"No! "Brother!" the girl let out a piercing, desperate cry and tried to throw herself at her brother's body,

Before she could go any closer, the cultivator's hand grabbed her wrist and violently pulled her back. She reached out, her tiny hands grabbing at nothing. She screamed, waving violently, "Let go of me!" but the cultivator's didn't care and continued to hold her.

Her screams filled the room as she attempted to pull away, her eyes fixed on her brother's lifeless figure, but her small size was no match for his might. The cultivator, however, was uninterested.

"I hope this one should have spiritual roots," in a tired expression.

The cultivator then pushed her hand against the spiritual root details ball's surface, and nothing happened for a second.

Tears spewed in the girl's throat as her heart pounded in her chest, wondering if she would be killed like her brother too.

Suddenly, a faint blue light emerged from the ball. A creeping, nasty smile that had been concealed by the cultivator's mask slowly appeared on his face. "Good."

The girl's wide eyes were filled with fear as she stared up at him, but his hand came forward before she could respond. He hit her on the side of the neck with perfect precision, right away. knocking her unconscious. Her tears were still wet on her cheeks.

The cultivator didn't give her another look. He opened his storage bag and pushed the girl unconscious inside, treating her like a mere item.

The spot where his sister had stood was now empty, and the boy's lifeless body was lying crushed in one corner with blood splashed across the wall. The cultivator stood up silently and walked toward the next home, his icy gaze searching for his next victim.

In another scene, a mother huddled behind furniture while holding her baby close. The sound of the demonic cultivator's approaching footsteps made her heart race. She hoped that he wouldn't discover them. Just outside the door, the sound of footsteps ceased, and silence fell for a minute.

The door was then kicked in, and the chubby cultivator entered the room, his icy gaze sweeping the room. The mother froze in fear as his eyes fell upon her.

The cultivator reached out without hesitation and used a spell to pull the baby out of her arms. The baby cried as he was taken away from his mothers embrace.

The cultivator ignored the mother's cries as she reached for her child. He grabbed the baby, checked it for spiritual roots, and threw it aside when he couldn't find any.

He tossed the baby and with a Bang, the baby hit the ground and died. The mother, tears in her eyes, hurried to hold her child.

He looked at the sad mother. Behind his mask, he smiled cruelly and flicked his wrist, launching a Sword attack at her. as her neck split in an instant, her body fell to the ground beside her baby

The fat cultivator sighed in frustration as he stepped over a pile of debris, his mask barely hiding his irritation. "I thought there would be more people in this city," he said, his voice thick with disappointment.

"Where are all the mortals? How come there are so few of them left? And why are the houses so damn big?" His eyes scanned the ruined city, searching for the people as he continued toward Minister Hu's residence.
