Chapter 10: The Crystal Onix

(Mew and her friends continue their journey.)

(on the sea of the Orange Island on Lapras on a bright and sunny day.)

(Mew asks.)

Mew: "You holding up okay, Lapras?"

(Lapras replies with glee.)

(Even Pikachu, Eevee, Togepi, Pichu, Meloetta, and Skwovet are happy.)

(Just then, Tracey notices something through his binoculars.)

Tracey: "Hey, what's that?"

(Everyone looks to notice a bottle is floating in the water.)

(Lapras swims over and catches it in his mouth.)

(He then picks it up from the waver and brings it to Mew.)

(Mew takes it and says.)

Mew: "Thank you, Lapras.

(Mew looks at the bottle and notices.)

Mew: "Hmm, there's a paper inside. A message perhaps?"

Misty: "Probably a letter,"

(Misty says.)

(Pikachu wonders.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika?" (What does it say?)

Mew: "I'll open it and find out."

(Mew says.)

(Mew then opens the bottle, takes out the letter to unfold it.)

Mew: "Somebody from one of the islands nearby must have thrown it in the ocean."

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Let's see what it says."

(Mew says, opening the letter.)

(She then reads.)

Mew: "If you know anything about a Pokemon called the Crystal Onix, let me know right away.' And it's signed, Marissa from Sunburst Island."

Misty: "The Crystal Onix?"

(Misty questions.)

Tracey: "Yeah, it's supposed to be an Onix made of glass crystal."

(Tracey says.)

(Tomo asks.)

Tomo: "Is it really real?"

Tracey: "Who knows? But there are people who say they've seen it."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "I'd sure like to see it. Wouldn't you?"

(Mew replies.)

Pikachu: "Pika Pika!" (Of course I would!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee Eevee," (I sure like to meet it.)

(Eevee replies.)

(Just then, Lapras let out a cry, saying.)

Lapras: 'Land ho!"

(Mew turns her head.)

Mew: "Hey, look!"

Tracey: "There's Sunburst Island."

(Tracey says.)

(After arriving on the island.)

(Mew and her friends decide to walk around the island to come across the marketplace.)

(They are amazed to see so many different stands and their wares.)

(especially many of them offer glassware of different varieties.)

Misty: "Wow! Look at all the glass!"

(Misty says, amazed.)

Tracey: "Sunburst Island is famous for having all kinds of crystal and glass shops."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Wow,"

(Mew says, looking around.)

(They soon look through the nearby window.)

Tracey: "Lots of artists live there, and they make the glass right on the island. People travel from all over the world to buy it."

(Tracey explains.)

Misty: "Cool,"

(Misty says.)

(Mew and the others walk around.)

(and the Pokemon are amazed to see the wide varieties of glass and crystals.)

Tomo: "Wow, everything looks so shiny!"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "I'd really like to buy something."

(Misty says.)

(Pikachu and Eevee get in front of a glass vase like it's a funhouse mirror.)

Mew: "Careful you two, you don't want to break it. You'll have to pay for it."

(Mew advises.)

(Pikachu and Eevee nod their heads and step back away from the vase.)

(Soon, something catches Pikachu and Eevee's attention.)

(They see a man and it appears he's talking to a young girl.)

(with pink hair, wearing a yellow blouse, red skirt, and brown shoes.)

(The man sounds displeased and questions the girl.)

The man: "You're still keeping this crummy shop open? Haven't you gone out of business yet?"

???: "No sir,"

(The girl answers.)

(Soon, Mew and the others notice what's happening.)

(Suddenly, the man says.)

the man: "I don't see why you don't close up shop. You got no merchandise. Tell your big brother he should give up already, he ain't got no talent."

???: "Yes, he does. He's very good,"

(The girl says in tears.)

(But the merchant says.)

the merchant: "Come on, don't start crying on us."

(Soon, Mew and her friends rush over.)

Mew: "What's going on here?"

(Mew asks.)

Misty: "Is there a problem?"

(Misty adds.)

(The man grows nervous.)

The man: "What's it to you? You know her?"

Mew: "I may not know her, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to help her."

(Mew sternly says with her arms crossed.)

The merchant: "All I know is being next to them is killing my business. These kids today, sticking their noses where they don't belong."

(The merchant says as he walks back to his shop.)

(Mew kneels to the little girl and asks.)

Mew: "Are you okay?"

???: "Yeah,"

(The little girl answers.)

(Then Misty asks.)

Misty: "You don't run this shop all by yourself, do you?"

(The little girl shakes her head and says.)

???: "My big brother, Mateo, helps me out a lot."

Mew: "Well, that sounds nice."

(Mew says.)

???: "Except now he feels real bad and doesn't want to make glass anymore."

(The girl sadly says.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu," (That is strange.)

(Pikachu replies.)

(Misty then asks.)

Misty: "Why don't you tell us your name?"

Marissa: "My name is Marissa,"

(The little girl says.)

Misty: "It's nice to meet you. I'm Misty."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "I'm Tomo,"

(Tomo says.)

Tracey: "I'm Tracey,"

(Tracey says.)

(Mew then brings out the note.)

Mew: "I have to assume that you wrote this."

(Marissa happily says.)

Marissa: "I knew somebody would answer my letter! You have to tell me about the Crystal Onix! Please, tell me! Please!"

(Mew admits in remorse.)

Mew: "Sorry Marissa, but we don't know anything about it."

Misty: "We're sorry,"

(Misty says.)

Marissa: "Oh. I thought for sure you found it."

(Marissa says, sadly.)

Tomo: "Is there really such a thing as a Crystal Onix?"

(Tomo asks.)

Marissa: "Sure there is."

(Marissa answers with a nod.)

Misty: "Maybe we should all have a little talk with your brother about this."

(Misty says.)

(Soon, Marissa introduces Mew and the others to her older brother Mateo.)

(He's a young man with brown hair, a blue shirt, dark blue pants, and brown shoes.)

(Mateo looks down to her sister and asks.)

Mateo: "Marissa, have you been bothering these people?"

Misty: "She's not bothering us. Is she, guys?"

(Misty replies.)

Tomo: "Not at all."

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "We saw her needing some help and we came to her aid."

(Mew says.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu," (But of course.)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee," (She didn't bother us at all.)

(Eevee says.)

Mew: "When we first came here, all the other glass stores had tons of stuff, but yours was practically empty. How come?"

(Mew replies.)

Mateo: "Well, you see…"

(Mateo says.)

(With that, he explains the story.)

Mateo: "When my grandfather ran the store, it was full of glass and a big success. Grandpa was a really talented artist, and he made beautiful glass Pokemon sculptures everyday. I remember seeing a man who sold Pokemon sculptures last time I was here on Sunburst Island. I guess that was him. I tried my best to follow in his footsteps, but I just can't make anything good enough to sell in the store."

(Soon, Mateo turns to show Mew and the others the glass sculptures that he made.)

Mew: "But these are great. Did you make them, Mateo?"

(Mew replies.)

Misty: "They all look just like the real Pokemon."

(Misty says.)

Tomo: "Yeah. They look really amazing."

(Tomo says.)

Mateo: "Maybe, but not to me. And compared to grandpa's, they're worthless!"

(Mateo says.)

(He then tosses the Poliwhirl statue to the ground and it shatters, shocking the group.)

Misty: "What a waste."

(Misty says.)

Pikachu: "Pikachu?" (Yeah, but why?)

(Pikachu says.)

Meloetta: "Meloetta," (Poor Mateo.)

(Meloetta sadly says.)

(Then Tracey asks.)

Tracey: "What's so bad about them, Mateo?"

Mateo: "They don't have that soul, that sparkle, that inner fire. They look like statues. Grandpa's Pokémon looked like they might come alive at any second. If I could just find some kind of inspiration."

(Mateo says, distressed.)

Mew: "What do you mean by that?"

(Mew asks.)

Misty: "He needs that spark."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "It's an idea or a feeling artists need to get. If they don't have it, it's tough to create anything good."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "It sure sounds important."

(Tomo says.)

(Mew then asks.)

Mew: "But, how can Mateo find the inspiration?"

Mateo: "I know I could create sculptures like my grandfather if I could just capture the Crystal Onix."

(Mateo says.)

(Mew and the others become interested.)

(Then Mateo says.)

Mateo: "Grandpa used to tell me that when he was a young artist, he saw the Crystal Onix and that's what inspired him."

Mew: "You mean he saw it for real?"

(Mew asks.)

Mateo: "Yeah. It was the most amazing thing he had ever seen."

(Mateo says.)

[Flashback...]

(When Mateo's grandfather was young, he tried to carve a statue.)

(Suddenly, a crystalized Onix appeared before him.)

(It's the most astonishing thing he had ever seen.)

(With that, Mateo's grandfather begins to make all kinds of statues.)

Mateo: "For the rest of his life, grandpa turned out one great sculpture after another."

(Mateo explains.)

[Flashback Ends...]

Misty: "Wow. That's a pretty amazing story."

(Misty says.)

Mateo: "Take a look at this."

(Mateo says.)

(He then showed the group the sculpture of the Crystal Onix.)

Mateo: "That's my grandpa's sculpture of the Crystal Onix he saw."

(Mateo says.)

(Mew and the others are amazed.)

Mateo: "Grandpa used to say that whenever he needed some inspiration, all he had to do was think of that Crystal Onix. I've looked for it all over the island, hoping it would give me just the inspiration that I need, but I haven't found it anywhere."

(Mateo explains.)

(Misty turns to Marissa.)

Misty: "So that's the reason why you want to find the Crystal Onix so much, isn't it, Marissa?"

Marissa: "Right,"

(Marissa says.)

(Misty then turns to the others.)

Misty: "What do you say we stay here and help him look for it, guys?"

Tracey: "Let's do it."

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "Yeah. Let's help Marissa. Besides, it's not polite to let a letter from a little girl go unanswered."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "Yeah. Let's search for the Crystal Onix."

(Tomo says.)

(All the Pokemon happily agreed with smiles on their faces.)

Marissa: "Oh, thank you, very much!"

(Marissa happily says.)

(Meanwhile, Meowth of Team Rocket is looking at a very beautiful blue glass vase.)

Meowth: "Let's make shopping easy. We can avoid the checkout lines, if we pick out what we want and come back later and steal it."

(Meowth says.)

(James picks up a plate.)

James: "This plate is fit for a king!"

Jessie: "And these glasses are fit for a queen!"

(Jessie says, holding some blue glasses.)

(Meowth shouts at them.)

Meowth: "Aaarrgh! Will you two listen to me?!"

(Jessie and James become startled.)

(and accidentally drops the plate and glass.)

(thus breaking them, as they shatter on the floor.)

(The Store owner walks in and is not pleased by the incident.)

Store owner: "Hey! We got a rule around here — you break it, you bought it!"

(Later on, Team Rocket is now having to work to pay off.)

(what they owe the store for the destroyed merchandise.)

(The work they have to do is chop the wood at the back.)

James: "Why do we have to suffer this indignity?"

(James asks, and has chopped the wood.)

Jessie: "We have to pay him, and we don't have a cent."

(Jessie says as she places the wood on the stump.)

(Meowth carries the pile of wood over and says.)

Meowth: "So we gotta work!"

(Just then, two workers come out.)

(as they talk to each other as Team Rocket hears the conversation.)

(One of them says.)

First employee: "You know what I've heard? I just heard that Mateo, and a bunch of kids just took off to look for the Crystal Onix again. In fact, one of them is actually the recent Kanto Region Champion."

second employee: "He still believe that story the old man told him? That's pathetic."

(The other employee says.)

(The employee says.)

First employee: "Yeah, I mean, who'd believe there's an Onix made out of glass?"

second employee: "Hey, when you're desperate, you'll believe anything."

(The second employee says.)

(Meowth turns to Team Rocket.)

Meowth: "Did you hear that?"

James: "That's what I call a rare Pokemon."

(James says.)

(Jessie turns to the boys.)

Jessie: "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?"

Meowth: "Ha! I'm thinking we find that Onix, pronto!"

(Meowth announces.)

(Sometime later.)

(Mew and her friends along with Mateo and Marissa begin their search for the Crystal Onix.)

Tomo: "So, it's somewhere on this island, huh?"

(Tomo asks.)

(Then Misty asks.)

Misty: "But, where do we start to look?"

Tracey: "Venonat will find it."

(Tracey says, and throws his Pokeball.)

(With that, Venonat is released from her Pokeball.)

(Mateo then presents the Crystal Onix to Venonat.)

Tracey: "Find something that looks like this, Venonat,"

(Tracey says.)

(Venonat then begins to search for the rock formation.)

(Soon enough, they end up finding a pile of rocks that look like Onix.)

Tomo: "I guess it kinda looks like an Onix."

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "Yeah. It was a nice try, Venonat."

(Mew says.)

(Venonat lowers his head in disappointment.)

Venonat: "Venonat. Venonat." (Sorry Tracey. I guess I didn't do well.)

Mew: "Venonat says he's sorry."

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "That's okay,"

(Tracey says.)

(Then calls back Venonat to his Pokeball.)

Tracey: "Return Venonat."

(Tracey then calls Venonat back to the Pokeball.)

Misty: "What do we do now?"

(Misty asks.)

Tracey: "I think I'll try a different Pokemon."

(Tracey says.)

(Mew says.)

Mew: "Do you have a Pokemon that can find the Crystal Onix?"

Tracey: "I do. I have just the one."

(Tracey says, and calls out his Pokemon from the Pokeball.)

(The pokemon is blue with short round ears.)

(short arms and feet, and a zig-zag tail with a ball on the tip.)

Tomo: "It's a Marill,"

(Tomo says.)

Misty: "Cutie!"

(Misty happily says.)

(Mew turns to Misty.)

Mew: "You have a Marill, too."

Misty: "Oh right,"

(Misty says.)

(Then Tracey introduces his Pokemon to Marill.)

Tracey: "Everyone, meet Marill."

(Mew brings out her Pokedex, and Dexter says.)

Dexter: "Marill, the Aqua Mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Azurill. A Water and Fairy Type. Its sensitive ears can detect distant sounds and the round rubbery tip on its tail can expand and contract, assisting Marill in the water."

Mew: "You think Marill can help us?"

(Mew asks.)

Tracey: "Sure. Lots of times, Marill hears a Pokemon before I even see it."

(Tracey answers.)

Misty: "You two must make a good team. You watch and Marill listens."

(Misty says.)

(Tracey kneels to Marill and says.)

Tracey: "Okay. Marill, listen up.

(Tracey gets out a sound device and it plays an Onix's cry.)

Tracey: "Now that's what Onix sounds like. Try to hear and feel one."

(Tracey says.)

(Marill agrees and listens carefully.)

(Finally, Marill hears and feels something.)

(Marill says.)

Marill: "Marill! Marill Marill!" (Got it! I hear one that way!)

Tracey: "Marill hears and feels something! Come on!"

(Tracey says.)

(With that, everyone begins to follow Marill.)

(Sometime later, Mew and the others continue to follow Marill all the way to the beach.)

(Soon, Marill stops and points to a smaller island across the water.)

Tomo: "Over there?"

(Tomo says, confused.)

(Just then, the water moves apart, and a path has been revealed.)

(giving the group a path between the main island and the smaller island.)

Tracey: "I can't believe it!"

(Tracey says, astonished.)

Mew: "It's like a path across the water!"

(Mew says.)

Tracey: "That's cool,"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Mateo asks.)

Mateo: "What's happening?"

Tracey: "It looks like some kind of sandbar that connects the two islands."

(Tracey says.)

Mateo: "Or maybe when the tide is really low, you can see that it's one big island."

(Mateo suggests.)

Mew: "Either way, we got a path to the island now. Let's go."

(Mew says.)

(With that, Mew and the others rash towards the sandbar.)

(but suddenly end up falling into a pit.)

(Mew groans.)

Mew: "Oh no. Not another one."

Mateo: "What should we do?"

(Mateo asks.)

(Suddenly, they hear familiar laughter.)

(Mew and the others look up to see Team Rocket.)

(as they begin to do the motto.)

Jessie: You should prepare for trouble.

James: And while you're down there, make it double!

Jessie: To protect the world from devastation.

James: To unite all peoples within our nation.

Jessie: To denounce the evils of truth and love.

James: To extend our reach to the stars above.

Jessie: Jessie.

James: James.

(The next moment, Jessie is on James as James is on the ground.)

Jessie: Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light.

James: Surrender now, or prepare to fight.

(Then Meowth lands on the tower.)

Meowth: Meowth, that's right!

(Then the three tumble from their tower.)

Mew and Tomo: "Team Rocket!"

(Mew and Tomo say, annoyed and frustrated.)

Misty: "Why don't you just pretend you're a tree and leave?"

(Misty calls out.)

(James sarcastically asks.)

James: "Ooh, funny. Who taught you that one? Professor Oak?"

Jessie: "We know what you all are looking for."

(Jessie says.)

Meowth: "We figured you'd come looking for the Crystal Onix sooner or later."

(Meowth says.)

Jessie: "So, we set a trap or two, just for you."

(Jessie says.)

James: "Now we'll grab that Crystal Onix."

(James says.)

Meowth: "Bye bye, losers!"

(Meowth says.)

(With that, Team Rocket take their leave.)

(Marissa begins to cry.)

Marissa: "They'll steal Crystal Onix!"

(Mew kneels down to Marissa with a reassuring smile.)

Mew: "Don't worry, Marissa, we'll dig our way out of this and beat Team Rocket to the Crystal Onix. And that's a promise."

Marissa: "Really?"

(Marissa asks.)

Mew: "You'll see,"

(Mew says.)

(Pikachu and Eevee nod their heads in reply.)

(Soon, Mew and the others are able to escape from the pit.)

(and run across the sandbar to get to the island.)

(and now they need to help the Crystal Onix before Team Rocket tries to steal it.)

(Marissa looks down to notice the shells.)

Marissa: "Look at all the pretty shells.

Misty: "We'll pick some on the way back, if we come back."

(Misty says.)

(Soon, Mew and the others stop to see something shocking.)

(Tracey says.)

Tracey: "Hey, look there!"

Mew: "It's, Team Rocket."

(Mew says.)

(What they see is Team Rocket, and all three of them are trapped.)

(Meowth is up in a tree by a snare trap.)

(Jessie is trapped in a cage.)

(and James is trying to avoid falling into the pit.)

(All three of them are trapped in front of the cage.)

Mew: "I don't understand. How did this happen to you guys?"

(Mew asks.)

(Jessie lets out a chuckle and says.)

Jessie: "Well, we were setting all these traps to catch you little twerps…"

James: "And, somehow, we got caught in them ourselves!"

(James says.)

(All of them look at them in sheepish surprise.)

Misty: "Those were for us?"

(Misty asks.)

Mew: "I'm not sure how I should feel about this."

(Mew says.)

(Then, Meowth shouts.)

Meowth: "Never mind about that, now! Just get us out of these traps and we'll let you help us find the Crystal Onix!"

Misty: "That's very considerate, but no thank you."

(Misty says.)

(Suddenly, Marill picks up another sound, and it's coming from the cave.)

Tracey: "You hear something, Marill?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Tracey looks forward to seeing Marill looking at the cave.)

Tracey: "It's inside the cave?"

(With that, Mew and the others proceed to go in the cave.)

(Meowth screams.)

Meowth: "Okay, fine! You win! Just get us out of these traps here and we'll do anything you want us to!"

James: "Chill out! We'll be back!"

(James says.)

James: "How can I chill out when I'm about to fall in?"

(James panics and begins to whimper.)

(Soon, Mew and the others are inside the cave.)

(and come to a sparkling lake with beautiful crystals all over the walls.)

Misty: "Wow!"

(Misty says, amazed.)

Tracey: "Look at all these crystals!"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "This place is beautiful."

(Mew says.)

Tomo: "This must be where the Crystal Onix is!"

(Tomo says.)

(Marill soon jumps into the lake, and the tip of her tail is sticking out.)

Tracey: "Marill's tail floats so you can see where it's going,"

(Tracey says.)

Mew: "That's a handy little feature."

(Mew says.)

(Suddenly, Marill goes under and comes back up.)

Tracey: "What is it, Marill?"

(Tracey asks.)

(Soon, Marill leaps out of the lake.)

(And soon, they see a silhouette of an Onix under the water before it disappears.)

(That surprises Tracey.)

Tracey: "I think I see it!"

Tomo: "Think you see what?"

(Tomo asks.)

(Everyone looks at the lake, but sees nothing.)

(Until, Marill calls out, and rising from the water.)

(is a massive Onix that looks like it's made entirely of crystal.)

(Everyone becomes surprised to see the Pokemon.)

(has revealed itself to them as it lets out a mighty roar.)

Mateo: "It's the Crystal Onix!"

(Mateo says, surprised.)

Misty: "No kidding!"

(Misty says, shocked.)

Tracey: "It's whole body is made out of crystal!

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "It's huge!"

(Tomo says.)

Mew: "Yeah,"

(Mew says.)

(Tracey quickly brings out his sketch book and begins to draw a picture.)

Tracey: "Wait until Professor Oak hears about this!"

(Marissa hits her brother and says.)

Marissa: "It's scary!"

(Mateo then brings out his Pokeball.)

Mateo: "I came prepared with just the Pokemon to battle that Onix, so don't be scared, Marissa."

Misty: "What are you using?"

(Misty asks.)

(Mateo throws his Pokeball.)

Mateo: "Cloyster, I choose you!"

(With that, Cloyster comes out of the Pokeball.)

Mateo: "Onix is weak against water attacks. Cloyster, use your Water Gun!"

(Mateo says and commands his Pokemon.)

(Cloyster fires the Water Gun, but it seems to have no effect.)

Mateo: "What's wrong?"

(Mateo asks.)

Misty: "The water's bouncing right off it!"

(Misty says.)

(Then Mateo calls out.)

Mateo: "Cloyster, try rapid fire, now!"

(Cloyster fires five Water Guns at once at the Crystal Onix, but nothing.)

Tracey: "Those water attacks don't seem to have any effect on the Crystal Onix!"

(Tracey says.)

Misty: "I can't believe it!"

(Misty says, surprised.)

(Even the Pokemon are shocked.)

(Mateo growls in frustration as the Crystal Onix roars up.)

(and lets out a massive roar, before nailing Cloyster with a powerful headbutt.)

(Mateo quickly ducks and his Pokemon crashes into the cave wall, knocking it out.)

Cloyster: "Cloyster!"

(Cloyster says, shocked.)

Marissa: "Mateo!"

(Marissa says, expressing her concern.)

(Suddenly, Team Rocket dashes in.)

Team Rocket: "Get away from our Crystal Onix!"

(Mew and the others turn to see Team Rocket dashing towards them at full speed.)

Mew: "Not them again."

(Mew says.)

(With that, Team Rocket arrives and they look tired.)

(Tired, Meowth says.)

Meowth: "That Crystal Onix belongs to Team Rocket."

Misty: "I don't get it, how did you three escape?"

(Misty asks.)

James: "That is a secret you will never know!"

(James says.)

Jessie: "And we will never tell."

(Jessie says.)

(Then Meowth says.)

Meowth: "Just think of all the beautiful junk we can make with that crystal!"

Jessie: "The world's longest crystal necklace!"

(Jessie says, fantasizing herself.)

James: "A crystal tub!"

(James happily says.)

Meowth: "I'll get a crystal charm and become the cat's Meowth!"

(Meowth says.)

(While Jessie and Meowth laugh, James has a thought.)

(James begins to wonder.

James: "What makes me think we're going to blow it?"

(Jessie then calls out.)

Jessie: "Alright, Arbok, let's get to work!"

James: "Victreebel!"

(James says.)

(With that, Arbok and Victreebel come out of their Pokeballs.)

(but Victreebel chomps down on James' head agan.)

(Mufflin, James calls out.)

James: "Let go of me, will you?! Don't attack me! Attack them!"

Mew: "Come on, Pikachu and Eevee! Let's get rid of them!"

(Mew says.)

Pikachu: "Pika!" (Roger!)

(Pikachu says.)

Eevee: "Eevee!" (Let's go!)

(Pikachu and Eevee join the battle.)

Misty: "Take care of them, Staryu!"

(Misty says, and throws her Pokeball.)

(Staryu comes out of its pokeball and performs a rapid spin Team Rocket's Pokemon.)

(making them land on their trainers.)

Meowth: "I thought we'd win. I'm very shocked."

(Meowth says, shocked.)

(Pikachu and Eevee place their tails on Meowth and give Team Rocket and their Pokemon a shock.)

(That forces them to retreat.)

(but runs right into the Crystal Onix, who is looking down at them, displeased.)

(Jessie sheepishly says.)

Jessie: "Aren't you a nice Onix? Yes, you are."

(However, the Crystal Onix uses its powerful tail to send Team Rocket flying out of the cave.)

(through th hole in the roof, and send them flying across the ocean.)

(Team Rocket screams.)

Team Rocket: "It looks like Team Rocket's blasting off again!"

(Once Team Rocket is gone, the Crystal Onix turns its attention back to Mateo.)

Mateo: "I know how to battle you, Onix,"

(Mateo says.)

(Then brings out his Pokeball.)

Mateo: "But I see I'm gonna need a little help from my glass-making partner to do it!

Mew: "His glass making partner?"

(Mew says, confused.)

(Mateo tosses his Pokeball and Charmeleon comes out of the Pokeball.)

(Mateo says.)

Mateo: "Charmeleon, go!"

(With that, Charmeleon charges towards the Crystal Onix.)

(The Crystal Onix then uses an attack that has Rocks thrown at Charmeleon, but it dodges the attack.)

Tomo: "What's that?"

(Tomo asks.)

Tracey: "That's Onix's Rock Throw,"

(Tracey says.)

(Mateo calls out.)

Mateo: "Charmeleon, use your Flamethrower attack!"

(Charmeleon then fires the Flamethrower and engulfs the Crystal Onix.)

Mateo: "Alright! Nice work!"

(Mateo says, excited.)

(Just then, the Crystal Onix begins to glow red from the heat.)

Tracey: "Those combined Flamethrower attacks are making the Crystal Onix super hot!"

(Tracey says.)

(Then Mateo calls out.)

Mateo: "Alright, Fire Spin, now!"

(Charmeleon unleashes a flaming tornado that engulfs the Crystal Onix once again.)

(making it hotter and begins lighting up the cave in a bright red light.)

(At the very moment.)

(Mateo is amazed and stares at the Crystal Onix, and he soon sees himself reflected in the Crystal Onix's body.)

(Soon, the Crystal Onix falls into the lake, defeated.)

(Confused, Mew asks.)

Mew: "Mateo, are you okay?"

(Mateo answers.)

Mateo: "I don't have to capture it anymore, Mew."

(Everyone becomes confused.)

(Mateo explains.)

Mateo: "For a minute, I felt something strange when I looked at that Onix. The feeling's hard to describe, but now, I have the inspiration I need to start working again!"

Marissa: "Mateo,"

(Marissa says, very happy for her brother.)

(With that, the Crystal Onix dives into the water and vanishes.)

(Mateo says.)

Mateo: "Thank you, friend. Thank you for that inspiration."

(Later on, Mateo begins to get to work on a new glass art with Chameleon providing the flames.)

(Mew and the others watch in amazement.)

Mateo: "That's great! Keep it burning, Charmeleon."

(Mateo says.)

(Then Misty says.)

Misty: "So this is why he called Charmeleon his glass making partner."

Pikachu: "Pika Pika!" (Pretty clever!)

(Pikachu says, and the other Pokemon nod their heads.)

Mateo: "Almost done, and I think I'm gonna like this one."

(Mateo says.)

Marissa: "Hurry up. I can't wait,"

(Marissa says, excited.)

Mateo: "You can't rush genius,"

(Mateo says.)

(Soon, Marissa laughs with a smile.)

(Later on, Mew and the others depart.)

Mew: "Bye! Thanks again!"

(Mew calls out.)

(Then Misty calls out.)

Misty: "See ya!"

(The Pokemon call out to say goodbye as well.)

(Marissa calls out.)

Marissa: "Goodbye!"

Mateo: "And thank you!"

(Mateo says.)

(Marissa happily says.)

Marissa: "See you later! Thanks for your help! Goodbye!"

(Mew and the others soon begin to walk towards the docks to leave for the next island.)

(Mew looks at a small statue of Pikachu and Eevee with a smile on her face.)

Mew: "Wow! They almost look like they're alive!"

(Mew says.)

Misty: "You can really tell Mateo got all the inspiration he needed."

(Misty says.)

Tracey: "Yeah, and from now on, I'm sure their store is gonna be a big success."

(Tracey says.)

Tomo: "Yeah, and they deserve it."

(Tomo says.)

(The Pokemon happily agrees.)

(Mew and her friends continue to walk down the path to move on to their next destination.)

(The friends they made, the Pokemon they encounter.)

(and the things they see will sparkle in their memories forever.)
