Training Emily

"Who are you?" Jason asked the little girl.

"I don't know." She replied looking deeply into one corner, her eyes without fear.

Jason looked into the corner of the room she was staring at without rest but saw nothing noteworthy there, he assumed that the girl had suffered a great deal before he saved here.

'System can you give me information on Emily Brown.' He thought as he expected the system to pull information up on her.

*Sigh

Jason let out a sigh as he remembered something important, his system wasn't the kind that interacted with him, it mostly gave him advice but that was as far as it went. The mysteries about this girl was something he would have to figure out himself when it was time.

Currently his major concern would be on how to take care of her, tomorrow his teacher would come over and he would have to hide her. She wasn't like him, she wouldn't be able to hide his presence from a veteran.

"Come here." He motioned for her to follow him but she didn't come.

More like she didn't notice him or couldn't understand what that gesture meant, he begrudgingly walked over to her and picker her up, he was taking her to the bathroom because her sanitation wasn't the best.

Jason unclothed her, promptly throwing her old clothes... They couldn't be called clothes, rather he threw her rags onto the ground before beginning to bathe her.

Bathing a little girl was not the best experience, you had to make sure you scrubbed them properly and Jason as someone whom mostly lived by himself in his last life and in this life wasn't used to bathing someone. It made him feel like a servant.

As soon as he finished bathing her he dried her body and gave her one of his shirts to wear, she was a small kid so the shirt was very big on her body as it covered her full body and still dragged on the ground. He didn't bother to give her anything under as it didn't matter since the shirt was already more than enough.

Jason set her down in the sitting room as he scrounged up the remnants of the morning's dinner to give to her.

As soon as he set it down the aroma entered her nose, she began drooling but she didn't do anything.

"Eat up." He prompted Emily.

She looked uncertainly at the plate of food in front of her before looking back at him.

"I said you can eat." He repeated.

As soon as the words left his mouth she began eating wildly like an animal, even though she acted like she was okay the signs that she was starved was fully on display and now that she had been given the permission to eat this much food she wouldn't hold back.

In under a minute she had finished the food and was licking her fingers, she let out a burp in satisfaction.

"Have some water." He spoke softly feeling that if he wasn't kind enough some of his questions would be unanswered.

As soon as she finished drinking the water Jason began questioning her, since she didn't remember whom her parents were he would have to ask her more present questions.

"Who were those people beating you?" Jason asked.

She looked at him and for the first time noticed that he wasn't the person she thought he was, she took a deep breath hoping that her answers wouldn't get her beaten.

"My owner." She said simply.

Jason put a hand on his chin as he began to think about it, it made sense but what he couldn't get was why would they allow such a thing happen inside the clan compound.

"Why was your owner beating you?" He asked another question.

"He told me to beg, but no one gave me anything so he beat me." She explained.

Jason got up, the only thing he was able to gather from this conversation is that she was probably sold by her parents drowning in debt. He couldn't really disturb himself about her past because right now it was irrelevant to him.

He had already done his daily training, he remembered clearly that 3 years ago he could only last for an hour or two before losing all his energy. But now that he had grown much he had to do it for 5 hours, so he resolved to wake up early.

He had no use for the girl in front of him, she had no combat experience and he couldn't profit at all, she was a liability and part of him wanted to take her back to the streets right now, but the system was always helpful to him one way or the other.

"That might work." Jason muttered to himself as he got an idea.

Since he was going to take the burden of taking care of her he would train her, forging her into the perfect soldier that would follow him without question, one that would carry his orders without fail.

He returned the plates to the kitchen before looking at the handful he had gotten himself today.

"But what if she doesn't awaken? I would be training a dud that will just be a disposable phyu" He questioned hoping the system would answer.

But to no avail there was not even a response.

He began to weigh the probabilities and the gain.

Who if she would awaken, and there was the possibility that even if she awakened if she was a rank 2 would the risk really be worth it.

But thinking back had the system ever been wrong, anytime it gave him advice it only ended up benefiting him.

He finally made a decision.

Half an hour had passed when he was thinking and Emily hadn't moved from her spot neither spoken, she seemed to enjoy the cleanliness.

"Get up, I'm going to teach you how to fight." He didn't care if she was too young, there was mana in this world that boosted someone's capabilities by a large margin.

Hearing his command she got up.

"Show me your best punch." He said.

She threw her small arm forward, she had used all the strength she could muster but in Jason's eyes it was disappointing. It was like she was just moving her arm forward, she didn't bother to put her weight behind it. But she didn't have much weight to begin with.

'I guess I need to add fattening her up to one of my objectives.' Jason thought.

"Look at how I do it and copy me." He said.

He moved his arm forward and taking a slight step forward delivered a punch in the air.

"Try copying me."

She seemed to catch on quickly as she copied his footwork though poorly as he performed another punch. Her small body moved in the air as she punched the air, but because she had done much more than her body could handle the force she used sent her forward.

'She seems to be catching on, though it will take sometime before she is able to perform a normal punch.' Jason thought.

"Let's leave that for now." He said.

"Show me your best kick." He ordered.

The poor girl tried raising her leg into the air but she fell down, her malnourished body unable to stand with just one leg.

'I really need to feed her.' He winced at the thought of burning through his food supply for a girl that he was taking a gamble with.

"That isn't acceptable, we'll work on your kicks once you've gained some more flesh on your legs. When that time comes I'll teach you a kicking technique called the nutcracker."
