It always amazed me that people put a time on healing. Like, if you took longer than what others considered to be 'appropriate,' you were looked down upon or as if you were milking it. People only have sympathy when they first find out what happened to you, but even then, that sympathy disappears quickly.
There was a whole timeline for physical wounds. The midwives said that it took six weeks to completely heal from childbirth, whether natural or by C-section; a paper cut should be healed in a few days, and a broken bone shouldn't take any more than four months to heal.
As soon as that amount of time has passed, then you should be back to normal. No pain, no limping, nothing. It should be like the injury never happened in the first place. Any lingering pain from the wound was looked upon as you making things up in order to gain sympathy…
